The Philly Cheesesteak Shop is spreading a

little love on their sandwiches with a
program allowing a customer to buy one for
a local. A ticket gets posted to the wall which
can be claimed by a local.
The largest (by total passengers) cruise ship,
the Star Princess with 2,600 passengers
(plus crew) will be in port (wind permitting)
on the Thursday of Semana Santa. The road
into town will be busy with tour buses and
Semana Santa traffic on what is the first
official vacation day for all of the country's
workers.
An FB friend reports that El Transito (the
National Police Traffic Cops) are giving out
fines for not having a motorcycle license
plate (320 Cords). If you have been waiting
for your plates and are under number RI
15890, they now have them in stock (even
though nobody recalls that being
announced). NOTE: The "Constancia" that
you received in lieu of your plates prevented
you getting a fine for no plates, however I
guess its no longer valid if your plate number
is in Rivas.

The Art Space Project Fundraiser at El

Timon is shaping up and there have been
some generous donations from donors for
the raffle and silent auction. The event s at El
Timon on Tuesday the 15th of March at
7:00 pm. There will be a presentation of the
project, entertainment, a silent auction and
a raffle. Entry is a $5 donation and El Timon
will give you a free cocktail & bocadillo.
The first Carrera Caminata (Run-Walk)
is a go for this Sunday 13th of March. Warm
up event starts at 7am with the race about
half an hour later. It's a 5 kilometer run and
walk that starts and finishes from the Zona
Deportiva (beach volleyball courts in front
of The Howler). After the race there will be a
Zumbaton (Zumba Competition) on the
beach and prizes. The theme is For a Better
Summer, For a Cleaner Nicaragua (Por un
Verano Mejor, Por una Nicaragua Ms
Limpia). Organized by Toldos Caupolican
SA, and the Municipality of San Juan del Sur
(See advert on Page 11).
Gaby's Spa is trying something different
with an entry in the Weekly Guide on pages
10 and 11, promoting some of her specials.

BPP School Year 2016

BPP is a nonprofit organization (NGO)
which provides a comprehensive
education program for low-income
children of San Juan del Sur and nearby
communities. This year our enrollment
was 160 children between the ages of 316 years. Our project gives free programs
teaching English, Computer Science,
Arts, Music, Environment, Fitness,
Sport, Produce/Gardening, Fashion
Design and Yoga. All designed so that
children receive supplementary classes
to contribute to their intellectual,
emotional and personal development that
maximizes their potential as individuals
and as future community leaders.
BPP fosters a multicultural perspective
and at the same time promotes the
identity and national pride in the
education of our students. As an
organization we intend that our students
have access to a program of high quality
education which is fun and functional and
which provides them with the necessary
tools to have a future with better
opportunities and broader prospects.

matrcula de la motocicleta. Si usted ha
estado esperando para sus placas y estn

tienen en stock (aunque nadie recuerda que

Navy Calls Off Search After eight days of

searching, including aerial, the Nicaraguan
Navy called off the search for three missing
Nicaraguans who left Playa Marsella, San

Blancas on Saturday 27th February in a 3 x
1.5 meter Panga. They were warned not to go
out because of the strong winds. Missing,
presumed drowned are brothers Csar de los
ngeles Selva Traa 32 and Denis Jos
Selva Traa 38 from Quinta Catalina in
Nandaime as well as Fernando Agustn
Cortez Obando 23 from the community of
Papayal in San Juan del Sur.

Inflation The Central Bank of Nicaragua

signed off on an inflation rate for February
of 0.93%. The accumulated figure for the
last 12 months was 3.40%. The rate in
February was largely due to higher prices of
goods and services related to food, nonalcoholic beverages, education, restaurants
and hotels. A decrease in prices was noted in
home utilities such as water, electricity and
gas. The 2016 inflation estimate is between
5% and 6%.

Easter Rush - Migration and Alien Affairs

have announced that over the Easter Week,
the border crossing at Peas Blancas (the
nearest one to San Juan del Sur) will be open
from 6am to Midnight. The H.Q. in
Managua will be open for Special Cases
only from Monday March 21st to March
23rd during the hours of 8am to 5pm. The
two service centers; Metrocentro and
Multicentre of the Americas will attend to
clients and accept paperwork from 1 to 4 pm
Monday March 21 to March 23rd and will be
open again for pick-up from 5 to 6 pm. On
Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th they will be
open from 10 am to 1 pm. The departmental
offices or Sertrami locations will only be
open from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd

National Police Summer Plan (Easter)

Broadband - The Nicaraguan Institute of
Telecommunications (TELCOR) have
announced that they will be expanding the
broadband in Nicaragua starting in April.
The first loan of US $ 50 million has been
s e c u r e d f r o m t h e I n t e r- A m e r i c a n
Development Bank. Broadband services
will be installed in rural and remote areas.
The National Electricity Transmission
Company (ENATREL) has already installed
1,800 kilometers of fiber optic cable and a
second loan of US $50 million will allow
another 1,600 kilometers to be installed. As
well as the cable installation, they will be
working on other areas where there are
existing services. TELCOR is also looking
to lower prices by 20% to 25% in mobile

Police Appeal to Riders - The Deputy

Director of the National Police;
Commissioner General Francisco Daz has
appealed to riders to be more responsible,
obey speed limits, not drive drunk and
remember to wear a helmet. Diaz was
speaking after just one accident last
weekend killed four motorcyclists at
kilmeter 36 of the Tisma to Tipitapa road.
Diaz said that 60% of traffic accidents and
40% of deaths and injuries are the result of
the irresponsibility of those who drive
motorcycles.
Since 2014, the Government of Nicaragua
has released about eight thousand prisoners
under the Family Life Program that were
serving sentences of five years or less for
minor crimes. About 850 of those have been
released between January and February this
year. Many of the prisoners released Are
people who have repented and deserve a
chance and who have behaved well and
worked hard in prison said Padre Eddy
Rojas Rodrguez, Head of the Prison
Commission of the Archdiocese of
Managua. Rodrguez confirmed that some
of the released prisoners are working under
strict supervision in state institutions such as
hospitals and public places so that they
integrate back into society.
A lot of activity over the last week or so by
those involved in drug enforcement, both on
and off the water. The Nicaraguan Navy
picked up three sacks of cocaine thrown
overboard by a panga fleeing capture off the
coast of San Juan del Sur. Each bag
contained more than 40 kg of cocaine. The
National Police report that as well as seizing
a total of 130 kilograms of cocaine, they
have also seized over US $467,000 hidden in
a bus on route from Managua to Costa Rica.
The bus was stopped as it was about to cross
at Peas Blancas. The driver was a Costa
Rican citizen.

Armada suspende la bsqueda - Despus
de ocho das de bsqueda, incluyendo la
bsqueda area, la marina de guerra de
Nicaragua suspendi la bsqueda de tres
nicaragenses que salieron de Playa
Marsella, San Juan del Sur, en un viaje de
pesca a Arenas Blancas el sbado 27 de
febrero en una panga de 3 x 1.5 metros. Ellos
fueron advertidos de no salir a causa de los
fuertes vientos. Los desaparecidos,
presumiblemente ahogados son los
hermanos Csar de los ngeles Selva Traa
de 32 aos y Denis Jos Selva Traa de 38 de
la Quinta Catalina en Nandaime, as como
Fernando Agustn Corts Obando de 23
aos de la comunidad del Papayal en San
Juan del Sur.
Fiebre de Pascua - Migracin y Extranjera
han anunciado que, durante la semana de
Pascua, el cruce fronterizo de Peas Blancas
(la ms cercana a San Juan del Sur) estar
abierto desde las 6 am hasta la medianoche.

Los Nmeros de la Polica Nacional en el
"Plan de Verano" (Pascua); La Polica
Nacional dispondr de 14.000 (13.000
policas y 1.000 voluntarios) 850
motocicletas para el trabajo de patrulla 563

Banda Ancha - El Instituto Nicaragense
de Telecomunicaciones (TELCOR) ha
anunciado que va a ampliar la banda ancha
en Nicaragua a partir de abril. El primer
prstamo de $50 millones se ha obtenido del
Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Los
servicios de banda ancha se instalarn en las
zonas rurales y remotas. La Compaa
Nacional de Transmisin Elctrica
(ENATREL) ya ha instalado 1.800
kilmetros de cable de fibra ptica y un
segundo prstamo de $ 50 millones
permitir que otros 1.600 kilmetros sean
instalados. As como la instalacin de los
cables, que estarn trabajando en otras reas

en las que hay servicios existentes. TELCOR

tambin est tratando de bajar los precios en
un 20% a un 25% en telefona mvil, el
Internet y otros servicios como resultado de
este aumento de volumen. El sistema
tambin se beneficiar del contrato con
Rusia para el uso de cuatro satlites para
mejorar los servicios de telecomunicaciones
en Nicaragua.
La inflacin - El Banco Central de
Nicaragua ha terminado en una tasa de
inflacin para febrero del 0,93%. En el
acumulado de los ltimos 12 meses fue de
3,40%. La tasa en febrero se debi en gran
parte al aumento de los precios de bienes y
servicios relacionados con la alimentacin,
bebidas no alcohlicas, educacin,
restaurantes y hoteles. Una disminucin de
los precios se observ en utilidades el hogar,
tales como agua, electricidad y gas. La
estimacin de inflacin en el 2016 es de entre
5% y 6%.
Polica solicita a los pilotos de motos - El
Director Adjunto de la Polica Nacional;
Comisionado General Francisco Daz ha
hecho un llamado a los pilotos a ser ms
responsables, respetar los lmites de
velocidad, no conducir borracho y recuerde
que debe usar un casco. Daz hizo estas
declaraciones despus de un accidente la
semana pasada en el cual murieron cuatro
motociclistas en el kilmetro 36 de la
carretera a Tisma, Tipitapa. Daz dijo que el
60% de los accidentes de trfico y el 40% de
las muertes y lesiones son el resultado de la
irresponsabilidad de los que conducen
motocicletas.
Desde el 2014, el Gobierno de Nicaragua ha
publicado que cerca de ocho mil prisioneros
han sido puestos en libertad en el marco del
programa de la vida en familia que estaban
cumpliendo penas de cinco aos o menos
para los delitos menores. Alrededor de 850
de ellos han sido puestos en libertad entre
enero y febrero de este ao. Muchos de los
prisioneros liberados "son personas que se
han arrepentido y que merecen una
oportunidad y que se han comportado bien y
trabajado duro en la crcel", dijo el Padre
Eddy Rojas Rodrguez, jefe de la Comisin
de Prisiones de la Arquidicesis de
Managua. Rodrguez confirm que algunos
de los prisioneros liberados estn trabajando
bajo una estricta supervisin en las
instituciones pblicas, como hospitales y
lugares pblicos para que se integren en la
sociedad.
Hubo una gran cantidad de actividad durante
la ltima semana ms o menos para los que
participan en el control de drogas, tanto
dentro como fuera del agua. La Armada de

Nicaragua se llev tres sacos de cocana

arrojados por la borda por una captura de
panga que huyo de la costa de San Juan del
Sur. Cada bolsa contena ms de 40 kg de
cocana. Segn informe de la Polica
Nacional que, adems de apoderarse de un
total de 130 kilogramos de cocana, tambin
se han incautado ms de $ 467.000
escondidos en un autobs en la ruta de
Managua a Costa Rica. El autobs se detuvo,
ya que estaba a punto de cruzar en Peas
Blancas. El conductor era un ciudadano de
Costa Rica.

Lic. Marvin Villalta, the Municipal Delegate of the

national water and sewer company ENACAL spoke to
Del Sur News about the potable water supply for Easter
(Semana Santa). Villalta said that they (ENACAL in
SJdS) were ready and prepared to provide drinking
water to the residents of San Juan del Sur at Easter when
we have a greater demand because of the large number
of visitors.

Empresa de Acueductos y Alcantarillados ENACAL,
expreso a Del Sur News que estn preparados para
proveer agua potable a los pobladores de San Juan del
Sur en Semana Santa, cuando tenemos mayor demanda
debido a la gran cantidad de visitantes.

Virgin are running at 100% and we have three wells to
provide potable water to supply the built-up areas.

que almacenan agua del Lago de Nicaragua ubicado en la
Virgen estn funcionando en un 100% y disponemos de
tres pozos para suministrar agua potable para abastecer
en el casco urbano

Villalta reported: "The receiving tanks that store drinking water for
the city that comes from the Lake Nicaragua treatment plant in La
Virgin are running at 100%. The population receives regular
drinking water except when we have a pipe break and its necessary
to close off the valves for the repair. Villalta asked for the
understanding of the population and wanted the public to know that
they are working to serve you (the end user) better.

SAN JUAN del SUR, they are PROHIBITED
from using water hoses to water gardens,
wash vehicles, sidewalks and streets etc.
They have fined several people in the town
that were found washing vehicles with a
hose. ENACAL will be running an information
and awareness plan to the public on the proper
use of water in the city."

vehculos, aceras y calles etc. Se ha multado
a varios pobladores en el casco urbano que
hemos encontrado lavando vehculos con
manguera. Se est ejecutando un plan de
informacin y sensibilizacin a la poblacin sobre
el buen uso del agua en la ciudad.

ENGLISH ACCESS - CURSO DE INGLES

l pasado 5 de marzo se realiz la graduacin del primer

nivel de clases de ingls del Programa Access que
ejecuta la Embajada de los Estados Unidos de Amrica,
colegio Stella Maris de San Juan del Sur.

The English course is two years in duration and classes are held Monday
through Friday for two hours each day, benefitting twenty five teenagers
from San Jun del Sur and surrounding communities. This Latin America
program is aimed at students from the freshmen and junior years
(between 13 and 16 years old) who have an excellent academic record,
with limited economic resources and who have not had the opportunity
to study English within or outside their communities.

El curso de ingls tiene una duracin de dos aos y las clases se

imparten de lunes a viernes durante dos horas cada da,
beneficiando a 25 adolescentes del casco urbano y de las
comunidades. El Programa Access beneficia a estudiantes de
primer y tercer ao de secundaria, entre 13 y 16 aos de edad y
con un excelente historial acadmico, de escasos recursos
econmicos y que no han tenido la oportunidad de estudiar
ingls dentro o fuera de sus comunidades en toda Amrica
Latina.

In Nicaragua, the Access program has benefitted 1,700 students in

Nicaragua and is being delivered in; El Castillo, Bluefields, Bilwi,
Estel, Somoto, Jinotega, Juigalpa, Bocay, San Jos de Cusmapa,
Jalapa, Matagalpa, Managua, Masaya, Granada, Jinotepe, Rivas and
here in San Juan del Sur.

En Nicaragua, el programa ha beneficiado de acceso 1.700

estudiantes y actualmente est siendo impartido en: El Castillo,
Bluefields, Bilwi, Estel, Somoto, Jinotega, Juigalpa, Bocay,
San Jos de Cusmapa, Jalapa, Matagalpa, Managua, Masaya,
Granada, Jinotepe, Rivas y San Juan del Sur.

The program is administered by the Nicaraguan North American

Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Nicaragense Norteamericano). Mr.
Carlos Miranda, Director of the Access program said; "We are very
pleased with the support for the program from management and
teachers at Stella Maris and thanked College Director Sister Dominga
Ros Calvo, Lic. Edgar Enrquez as well as the parents of the students.

Unidos: expres Access es un programa que tiene como
objetivo que los nios y nias nicaragenses aprendan ingls,
este programa les permite desarrollar una habilidad muy
importante que les permitir comunicarse con el resto del
mundo, les dar nuevas oportunidades a los beneficiarios y ser
un aporte importante a su desarrollo intelectual.

English which allows them to develop a very important skill; to
communicate with the rest of the world. It will give new opportunities to

Safety Warning

Despus de otro ataque por uno de los dos monos araa cuidados desde
que eran muy jvenes por Beverly Mart "BJ", sera negligente en no
advertir a los turistas y la poblacin en general que estos animales
salvajes son propensos a atacar a los seres humanos, sin razn
aparente, y sin previo aviso.

After yet another attack by one of the two spider monkeys raised
since they were very young by Beverly BJ Mart, we would be
remiss in not warning tourists and the general population that
these wild animals are prone to attacking humans for no apparent
reason and without warning.
Last Saturday 5th March, BJ and her monkeys were set up on the
sidewalk outside the weekly Farmers Market (which BJ uses an
opportunity to obtain donations in return for photo
opportunities with these seemingly cute and innocent animals). A
female tourist approached the smaller monkey (Soriya) who put
her arms up to be picked up just as child would do. The tourist did
ask BJ if it was OK to pick the monkey up and BJ confirmed that it
was. The monkey however seemed to change her mind as the
tourist went to do so. The monkey became angry and began
screaming. As the tourist tried to put her down again, Cindy (the
larger and older monkey) took a swipe at the person with her hand.
She missed but then bit her on the calf of one leg. The puncture
wound, although small, caused by one of the abnormally large
canine teeth (otherwise known as fighting teeth) had found a
vein and the wound bled profusely. Emergency first aid was
administered and an Ex Pat; Kharron Reid volunteered to take her
to Centro de Salud where she was treated and later released.

El pasado sbado 5 de marzo, BJ y sus monos se establecieron en la

acera fuera del mercado semanal de los agricultores (donde BJ utiliza
la oportunidad para obtener "donaciones" a cambio de oportunidades
de fotos con estos animales aparentemente lindos e inocentes). Una
turista se acerc al mono ms pequeo (Soriya) que levanto sus brazos
hasta ser recogido al igual que lo hara un nio. La turista dijo a BJ si
estaba bien para recoger el mono y BJ confirm que s. El mono sin
embargo pareci cambiar de opinin cuando la turista fue a levantarlo.
El mono se enoj y comenz a gritar. A medida que la turista intent
dejarlo en el suelo de nuevo, Cindy (el mono ms grande y mayor) dio
un golpe a la persona con la mano. Ella lo esquivo, pero luego la
mordi en la pierna. La herida fue punzante, aunque pequea, causada
por uno de los anormalmente grandes diente (tambin conocidos como
"dientes de lucha"), haba encontrado una vena y la herida sangraba
profusamente. Los primeros auxilios de emergencia fueron
administrados por un ex Pat; Kharron Reid que se ofreci a llevar a la
turista mordida por el mono al Centro de Salud donde fue tratada y
posteriormente dada de alta.

The two Spider Monkeys; Cindy (11 yrs.) and Soriya (4 1/2 yrs.)
have been a regular feature around town for many years. There
must be thousands of cruise ship passengers and visitors to this
tourist city that have made the donation and survived having
their photograph taken with the monkeys. Every Saturday (cruise
ships permitting) BJ can be found on the sidewalk outside Big
Wave Daves Farmers Market. She is (for obvious reasons) not
allowed in the market area with the animals, although this has not
stopped the monkeys grabbing food from vendors and customers
going in and out of the premises.

Han sido una caracterstica habitual en la ciudad desde hace muchos
aos. Debe haber miles de pasajeros de cruceros y visitantes de esta
ciudad turstica que han hecho la "donacin" y ha sobrevivido a tener
su fotografa tomada con los monos. Todos los sbados (y cuando
vienen barcos de crucero se encuentra en el malecn) a BJ se le permite
encontrarse en la acera fuera de Big Wave Daves en el Farmers Market
(mercado de los granjeros.) A ella (por razones obvias) no se le permite
estar en el rea de mercado con los animales, aunque esto no ha
detenido a los monos tomar por sorpresa alimentos de vendedores y
clientes que entran y salen del local.

In another recent attack by these two animals, Linda, a person

visiting Ms. Marts house, was attacked and required much more
medical attention. The National Police have had an open file on
these and other related complaints for some time and are
attempting to resolve this issue under Law 747 - The Protection
and Welfare of Domestic and Domesticated Wild Animals.

En otro reciente ataque de estos dos animales, una persona que visita la
casa de la Sra. Mart fue atacada y requiri mucha ms atencin mdica.
La Polica Nacional tiene un archivo abierto sobre estas y otras quejas
relacionadas y estn tratando de resolver este problema mediante la
Ley 747 - La proteccin y el bienestar de los animales salvajes
domesticados.

In the meantime, please exercise caution when you see these two
monkeys (or any other wild animal that you see in the street). Not
surprisingly, a quick Google search will find comments such as;

Spider monkeys are NOT suitable pets. Spider monkeys need

specialized care and can become extremely aggressive when they
reach sexual maturity

There are countless numbers of reports in which Spider
Monkeys have suddenly attacked their owners or someone else,
causing serious injury, or even death. The spider monkey may be

The purpose of this report is simply to make a public warning that
no matter how cute these wild animals may seem, please
remember what one expert has said:
Spider Monkeys are wild animals and have natural instincts
that no amount of training can completely take away.

El 15 de abril del 2016 tenes la oportunidad de aportar

jvenes con discapacidad
La Junta Directiva de Padres de Familia con hijos discapacitados Los
Pipitos y Amigos Unidos por Amor de San Juan del Sur, estn trabajando
desde el mes de marzo en los preparativos para la gran recolecta nacional
que realizar el prximo 15 de abril del 2016 por TELETON
NICARAGUA. Inform a Del Sur News; Raycarol Jurez presidenta de
Amigos Unidos por Amor organizacin local de apoyo a Los Pipitos.
Historia
El 27 de julio del 2001 se realiz el primer evento nacional de recaudacin
de fondos para el beneficio de la niez atendida por la Asociacin de Padres
de familia con Hijos discapacitados Los Pipitos, esta iniciativa fue de un
grupo de jvenes entusiastas como una de las ms nobles jornadas de
solidaridad y amor del pueblo nicaragense. La fundacin TELETNNICARAGUA es una organizacin sin fines de lucro que tiene como nico
objetivo captar recursos financieros y humanos, para la rehabilitacin e
integracin social de la niez y juventud con algn tipo de deficiencia y/o
disCapacidad y promueve la participacin de los padres y la familia para
alcanzar un mayor desarrollo en la rehabilitacin del nio o nia con
discapacidad.
Como aportar a TELETON- NICARGUA en San Juan del Sur
Este ao la Junta Directiva de Padres con hijos Dispacitados sanjuanea,
entreg 300 cartas de solicitud de apoyo econmico dirigida a empresas tursticas de la ciudad, ubic 30 alcancas en diferentes negocios de
la ciudad y contiguo a Remax en casa de Ana Cantillano, hay camisetas de venta con el logo de Los Pipitos y la foto del nio smbolo del ao
2016, con el objetivo de recolectar fondos para aportar a la recolecta nacional.
Gracias a las recaudaciones que se realizan en el pas ao con ao, se han construido centros de rehabilitacin para nios y adolescentes con
discapacidad, que son mantenidos con tu aporte, los nios con discapacidad de San Juan del Sur y de todo Nicaragua reciben terapias en las
Unidades de Desarrollo Psicomotor, muchos han logrado dar sus primeros pasos con la ayuda de sus padres o auxilindose de un andarivel,
haciendo un cambio en la vida de los nios y sus familias.

TELETON
On April 15th, 2016 you get the opportunity to contribute to and realize
the dreams of our children and youth with disabilities.
Raycarol Jurez; President of Friends United by Love told Del Sur News that the Board of Parents with Disabled Children (Los Pipitos)
and Friends United by Love of San Juan del Sur have been working since the start of March in preparation for the big national event
TELETON (Telethon) NICARAGUA being held on April 15th.
History
The first national fundraising event for the benefit of children served by the Association of Parents with Children with Disabilities; The
Pipitos was held on July 27th 2001. This initiative by a group of young enthusiasts was one of the noblest days of solidarity and love of the
Nicaraguan people. The TELETON-NICARAGUA Foundation is a nonprofit organization that aims only to attract financial and human
resources for rehabilitation and social integration of children and youth with some kind of disability and promotes parental involvement and
family to achieve greater development in the rehabilitation of these children.
TELETON- San Juan del Sur
This year the Board of Parents with Disabled Children (Los Pipitos) delivered 300 letters to tourism businesses in the city requesting
financial support. They have also placed 30 piggy banks in different businesses of the city as well as next to Remax at Ana Cantillano there are
T-shirts for sale with the logo of Los Pipitos and the child who is the symbol of the 2016 event. The aim is to sell these to raise funds to
contribute to the national collection.
Thanks to the collections that are made in the country year after year, they have built rehabilitation centers for children and adolescents with
disabilities. These are also maintained with your contributions. Children with disabilities in San Juan del Sur and all of Nicaragua receive
therapy at Psychomotor Development Units and many have managed to take their first steps with the help of their parents or using a lift,
making a difference in the lives of children and their families.

On Saturday March 5th, Mr. Bill Trabilcy an American from Boston handed out baseball
gloves and bats to 6 children's teams and 4 pre junior teams. The children played two
exhibition games in the stadium Miguel Arana our city.
VOLIBOL INTERNACIONAL
Comunidad Connect te invita este domingo 13 de marzo a las 4:30 pm en el parque deportivo
frente al malecn a presenciar interesante partido de volibol femenino entre la seleccin de
Nicaragua vs la universidad Stony Brook. Y el mircoles 16 de marzo tambin nos visita el
equipo de volibol Ava Rox Club vs Seleccin de Vlibol de San Juan del Sur Masculino
desde las 5:00 pm para jugar doble partido. No te lo pods perder, tendremos un bonito

Beach Volleyball Festival in La Boquita, the
third stop on the Nicaraguan Volleyball
Federation (FNVB) - National Tour.
The third place went to Fernanda
Chamorro/Anielka Alonso who won 2-1
(21-14, 19-21, 15-11) against Gisel
Gonzlez/Cheryl Zelaya.
In the semifinal, Machado/Lpez won 2115, 21-18 against Chamorro/Alonso, while
Machado/Rodriguez won 21-11, 21-8
against Gonzalez/Zelaya.
Lolette and Elia and confirmed their level by
winning their third festival and reaching 600
points ahead of Chamorro/Alonso with 480,
Machado/Lopez 480 and in fourth are the

Contreras/Lpez. 16 pairs competed in the
tournament , divided into groups of four
with the top eight advancing to the
quarterfinals.
The fourth stop of the National Beach
Volleyball Tour will be on Sunday March
13th in Pochomil, leaving only Granada
before the Grand Final right here at Easter in

Playa La Boquita, Carazo. Elia Machado y Lolette Rodrguez estuvieron imparables
ganando la final 21-9, 21-19 a Claudia Machado/Socorro Lpez, en el Festival de Voleibol de
Playa de La Boquita, tercera parada del Tour Nacional que realiza la Federacin
Nicaragense de Voleibol (FNVB).
El tercer lugar fue para Fernanda Chamorro/Anielka Alonso al superar 2-1 (21-14, 19-21, 1511) a Gisel Gonzlez/Cheryl Zelaya.
En semifinal, Machado/Lpez dejaron en el
camino 21-15, 21-18 a Chamorro/Alonso,
mientras Machado/Rodrguez se impusieron
21-11, 21-8 a Gonzlez/Zelaya.
Elia y Lolette confirmaron su nivel al ganar su
tercer Festival, llegando a los 600 puntos, por
480 de Chamorro/Alonso al igual que
Machado/Lpez. En cuarto estn las hermanas
Heidy y Mercedes Traa con 420, a pesar de no
avanzar a las semifinales en La Boquita.
En tanto, la pareja conformada por Rubn Mora y Dany Lpez (de San Juan del Sur)
consigui su segundo pdium dorado en los
Festivales de Voleibol de Playa al imponerse
2-1 (21-14, 19-21, 15-5) en la final a
Francisco Castro/Winston Caldern (San
Juan del Sur).
El tercer lugar fue para Gerson
Contreras/Denis Lpez (San Juan del Sur)
que vencieron con doble 21-18 a Miguel
Lpez/Jefferson Cascante (San Juan del
Sur).
Mora/Lpez marchan en el primer lugar del Tour Nacional con 580 puntos,
seguido de Contreras/Lpez con 540 y Castro /Caldern con 500 unidades.
Atrs estn Lpez/Cascante con 420 puntos.
Para avanzar a la final, Mora/Lpez superaron 2-0 (21-16, 21-15) a
Lpez/Cascante, mientras Castro/Caldern vencieron 21-15, 21-19 a
Contreras/Lpez. En el torneo compitieron 16 parejas divididas en grupos
de cuatro, avanzando los mejores ocho a cuartos de final.
La cuarta parada del Tour Nacional de Voleibol de Playa ser el domingo
13 de marzo en Pochomil, quedando solamente Granada antes de la gran
final en Semana Santa en San Juan del Sur.
