Abstaract:
In current bus transport system, there is no any
way to track the current number of vacant seats in
real time. This causes revenue loss for bus depute
as it is unable for them to forecast the vacant seats
in the bus and hence they cannot do the
reservation of those seats in real time also depute
is unable to get real time notification regarding
any mishaps with the bus or the driver. This
project helps the depot to get the real time updates
of seat positions in the bus using GSM technology
also this project helps to provide alert notification
for fire, unauthorized user, theft to depot in real
time basis for this we have used powerful
combination of ARM7 processor, GSM
Technology and sensor systems which together
form a highly efficient bus reservation system for
bus depot the other part of this project is to
provide complete vehicle navigation information
requested by user or any depot also to provide the
regular updated to the next bus stand so as to
display or announce the bus name on stands This
product was developed to monitor the number of
seats occupied in a bus and transmit the same to
the depot at every 5 minute interval. Every seat in
the bus is fixed with pressure sensor. Whenever a
particular seat is occupied, the Controller board
micro-controller senses it and sends the seat
number information via a GSM module. The
input to this G.S.M module is through serial
communication. The receiver uses this data to
display it on the computer monitor at the depot or
it can be directly sent to the central mobile
station. Also the bus will contain the sensors like
Fire, PIR which will detect any misshapes during
the travelling. The same will be informed to the
depot via alert SMS. This project is very much
use full for online reservation of seats
dynamically. The booking agency can allot the
seat matrix at

Positioning System) & GSM (Global Service for

1.Introduction:
Now a days lot of people travels through
Daily transport system vehicles and access their
services. The problem that arises is the user as
well as depot dont have the exact information of
the state of vehicle i.e. its exact position. Thats
where our application comes into picture. Real
Time tracking of all vehicles using Global
Positioning System as the name suggests, it uses
GPS to track any vehicles. Our area of
concentration in this project is on tracking
vehicles. It will help both the passengers and the
depot to track the vehicles, to get real time
position of the vehicles, changed routes (If any), it
can also act as an anti-theftapplication by
detecting the exact position of the vehicles. We
are also adding fire sensors to avoid any
misshapes due to fire.
The data from bus unit is collected at depot
unit by depot manager, which further this data is
displayed on stand unit. It will contain the
information about bus and seat vacancies which
will help the people waiting for bus.
2.Literature Survey:
As said above, our proposed system will
show depot real time location of the vehicle
on the Google Map by using GPS (Global
Positioning System) & GSM (Global Service
For Mobile).
The existing system of vehicle tracking
includes the tracking of the vehicle by using

GPS Device receives the GPS co-ordinates
and sends it to the server (depot unit) after
every fixed time. The server receives the
information from the GPS Device and stores
it. The data of a particular vehicle is provided
at stand unit to display. If any sensor produced
output, that particular data is transferred to
III.SENSORS
NPC-1210 Low Pressure Sensor.The
NPC-1210 series of solid-state pressure
sensors are designed to provide a cost
effective solution for applications that require
calibrated performance over a wide
temperature range. These sensors used to
sense the seat vacancy which helps to provide
seat matrix array to passengers.
IV.Fire sensors:
A flame detector is a sensor designed to
detect and respond to the presence of a flame
or fire. Responses to a detected flame depend
on the installation, but can include sounding
an alarm, deactivating a fuel line (such as a
propane or a natural gas), and activating a fire
suppression system. A flame detector can
often respond faster and more accurately than
D. DEPOT (SERVER):
This unit works as a server where all data is
going to save. Received data from bus unit is
transferred to stand unit to display on the lcd
screen at stand unit, which helps to get
information about the bus to passengers.

C.GSM MODEM:
GSM modem is a specialized type of modem
which accepts a SIM card, and operates over
a subscription to a mobile operator, just like a
mobile phone. From the mobile operator
perspective, a GSM modem looks just like a
mobile phone. When a GSM modem is
connected to a computer, this allows the
computer to use the GSM modem to
communicate over the mobilenetwork. While
these GSM modems are most frequently used
to provide mobile internet Connectivity, many
