A Narrative Report in
5th Regional and 1st International Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) IB-B Pre- service
and In- service Teachers Convention.
Divine Word College of Calapan

Aiming to equip ourselves with dependable and updated competencies that will further enable us to develop and
produce adept and experienced teachers in the future, we attended the 5 th Regional and 1st International Philippine
Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) IV-B Pre- service and In- service Teachers Convention at Divine
Word College of Calapan in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, January 22- 23, 2016.
Six faculty members and a school nurse from MinSCAT Bongabong Campus were advised to attend in the said
convention and they were Mrs. Myla V. Izon, Mr.Brian Elaydo,Mr. Cedric M. Rayla,Ms. Maricel V. Barredo, Ms. Lorie
Jane Rey, Mrs, Janeth Linga and Mrs. Daphne Mercado, the official medical attendant of the MBC delegation.
Mrs. Izon being one of the officers of the PAFTE organization and Mr. Elaydo, the Head of Arts and Sciences led the
delegation on January 22, Friday at 6:30 pm. Other faculty delegates were designated in every van to look after the
students.
Prior to the said travel, each faculty was given list of students who will be under their supervision while travelling to
the venue. And the said strategy was effectively used since no faculty- adviser reported any case of mix up.
After an hour or two, the MBC delegation reached the place at exactly 8:30. The delegation was welcomed by the brass
band of the host school.
At 1pm, the program started with a community mass officiated by the priests from DWCC. Afterwards, the official
opening was held. Each delegation was recognized.
Among the dignitaries present were the Regional Director of CHED IV-B Dr. Virginia Akiate, Calapan City Mayor
Arnan C. Panaligan, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ibarra, DWCC President, Dr. Leonicia Marquines, MinSCAT City Campus
Director for Instruction, Dr. Junrey P. Petere, EMA EMITS Dean of Academic Affairs and Dr. Rosvelinda Dequiros,
DWCC Dean of Academic Affairs.
After the opening program the series of talk and workshop was held. Various topics were discussed.
Mr. and Ms. PAFTE capped the first day of the said seminar.
After the said pageant the delegates had their overnight stay at MinSCAT Calapan City Campus.
On the next day, other talks were rendered by the invited speakers. Dr. Morilla talked about Research in Education and
Rev. Glenn Paul Gomez, DWSJ President talked about Spirituality and Holiness.
The closing program highlighted the newly- elected officers of PAFTE Region IV-B and the awarding and recognition
of the past officers and delegates.
The program ended at 5pm.
