MOTIVATION
Greet the amazing fours with great enthusiasm
and inform them we will be carrying on with our
Biome projects. Check students progress of
collage and if not complete the remainder must be
done at home. Introduce students to todays
Biome quiz to recap what we have done so far.

Arrange students into groups of 3 or 4 using a

headcount (1,2,3,4) Students are to move to
their allocated numbers and come up with a group
name with their team members. Write the group
names on the whiteboard and complete the quiz.
QUIZ!
Leave the winners name on the board!
Students are to quickly and quietly move back to
their desks one group at a time. The quietest
groups name will also remain on the whiteboard.
LESSON STEPS
Inform all girls to go and collect either a laptop or
iPad from the computer room, as boys wait
patiently. Once the girls have returned, inform the
boys they are now able to go and collect either a
laptop or iPad. Inform students if there is any
pushing or shoving, the iPads will be put back in
the cupboard and the work will need to be
completed at home.

Interactive
whiteboard

Introduce students to the Weebly site (link on task

sheet) and log in altogether and going through our
exploration steps. This will ensure all students are
aware of the task ahead of them as well as the
expectations. Explain to students that today we
will be beginning our exploration one: Research
time! This requires us to use our ICT skills to
research our already chosen biome and gather up
as much information as we can as explores, using
our checklist to complete something a popplet.
This will help us along for the remainder of our
journey!
As students already have an ICT file set up with
their already made passwords in it, choose
students sitting the most respectfully and quietly
to go and get their ICT files first and the remaining
students to follow. Once they are back at their
desks they are able to log themselves in and open
up a new popplet, naming it MY BIOME
ADVENTURE. As students are doing this hand out
one checklist per student ready for them to begin
their adventure!

Interactive
Whiteboard

Once students are back at their desks and logged

into the computers, bring up the task sheet and
checklist on the interactive whiteboard. The
amazing fours are going on a Biome Adventure,
using our already chosen Biomes we are going to
further our research and knowledge into what
animals might live in that Biome, what plants
might grow and even what the weather might be!
Inform students that there are several steps to our
task which we will be working through together as
a class, although the option is there to log in at
home if they feel they would like to create
something exceptional and get ahead!
