INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECT

AssistU App:
With the rising number of rape and sexual assault cases, how would it be if your
mobile could protect you? An initiative by Star network has come up with an
emergency app named AssistU for women who are in trouble. This app include many
features like:
Features :
1. Rescue me:
The app has a preset message which says -I am in danger. I need help. Please follow my location.
Once you press the button, the message will be sent out to the contacts that have been
saved by you as your designated receivers or guardians. This app is compatible with
Android phones and compulsorily needs an internet connection. The Emergency
button sends a silent, predetermined text message that includes current location to up
to four preselected numbers. This emergency button can save the lives of people in
sexual assault, domestic abuse, or abduction situations where making a silent and
discrete call for help is the best way to prevent harm and remain safe until help can
arrive.
2. NGO Assistance:

As the mobile application platform sits at the centre of the flow of data and
information between the back-office and field based staff, it is therefore essential that
the mobile application platform can exchange data with the other key systems within
the organisation. Todays article aims to expand on 5 specific areas where the ability
to integrate can deliver enhanced value to organisation as a whole.
Operational Effectiveness: By integrating the mobile application platform with the
NGOs CRM and ERP, systems we can enable significant operational efficiencies

Beneficiary Communication: Integration between the mobile enterprise

platform and third party Mobile Money Platforms and SMS Gateways can
enable NGOs to deliver beneficiary payments and also to maintain
communication with beneficiaries.with the NGOs CRM and ERP, systems
we can enable significant operational efficiencies.
Helpline:
The 247 helpline -181- is a toll-free number to support woman in distress
and is accessible through any mobile or landline. Any women can access
181 Abhayam helpline for the purpose of counseling, guidance,
information and also for the rescue in various threatening situations
including domestic violence.
On 11th April 2013 (Ugadi Day) the chief minister of AP, Kiran Kumar
Reddy inaugurated the Dial 100 Director General Command & Control
Centre & dedicated it to the people (80 Million) of Andhra Pradesh. This
was an extremely bold decision taken by the Police department to
consolidate all Dial 100 facilities of the state which existed only in few
districts, into one Central Command Centre and outsource that to GVK
EMRI for efficient operation. This is also an outcome of the change & the
people centricity that the department wants to bring in their overall
operations across the state.
112 is the common emergency telephone number that can be dialed free
of charge from any fixed or mobile telephone in order to reach emergency
services (ambulance, fire and rescue, police) in numerous European
Countries, including all member states of the European Union, as well as
several other countries in the world. In some countries other numbers
previously used also continue to be available; e.g. 061 and 112 in Spain,
999 and 112 both function in the UK. In the United States, some carriers,
including AT&T, will map the number 112 to its emergency number 9-11.In some cases calls to emergency numbers can be made when other
calls cannot, e.g., when a telephone has been barred from making
outgoing calls for non-payment of bills.
The app displays owner information on the lock-screen to encourage the
return of a lost or stolen mobile device. Ownership display screens have

been shown to discourage and prevent a theft and to enable return of the
device if it is lost.

FUTURE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The system implements the following functions:

1. This

app needs compulsory internet connection. So for people who are in a

panic situation and who do not use a smartphone, this service may not be
useful. So,we may work in this direction to solve or to find an alternative to
this problem.

2. They're still apps, I know, and they won't stop tragediesviolent attacks, car
crashesfrom happening. But they might just give you the tools you need to
alert your loved ones or the authorities and get you help faster when they
happenwhich is sort of priceless, isn't it?

3. More

features could be added like the easy-call to 911, sounding an alarm,

and sending photos when in distress, we think it's worth it.
