What is project control at Bechtel?

a friend offered me a job right out of high school and he said its a project control at Bechtel, but i
have no idea what it is, he just said send me your resume and ill take care of the rest. someone
explain, easy points. He said your good for the job cause you know excel, and access, so I said ok

- Provides comments and recommendations for planning and scheduling requirements relative to
staffing and project control.
- Interfaces with designated Bechtel management and client counterparts for specific planning and
scheduling tasks.
- Supervises the collection, verification, and integration of work scope for all entities..
- Evaluates schedule durations for all disciplines activities relative to the support of project
milestones.
- Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects. Helps
develop bid evaluation and schedule criteria and prepares bid evaluations.
- Plans and executes schedule resource loading and leveling. Integrates appropriate staffing
requirements..
- Obtains required schedule information by all disciplines. Identifies schedule restraints and their
effects on the total project schedule.
- Supports development of scheduling standards and procedures.
- Prepares and presents planning and scheduling information to management/clients.
- Performs cost engineering functions such as variance analysis, forecasting, trending, and baseline
change control.
Basic Qualifications
- A BS degree in an Engineering discipline, Science, or Construction Management from an
accredited university or college with at least 6 years of progressive related experience or 12 years of
progressive related experience in lieu of a degree.
