he oil and gas industry is now

currently facing a fallen era of
crude oil price in which impacting
to the lower Indonesia upstream
economic projects and some stoppage of recruitment in our industry. That is why today most of oil
and gas companies are demanding
to the innovations which is cheap,
and high-technology in attempt to
cut operational cost, drilling cost,
and another expensive operation.
This crisis is tremendously demanding a big role of undergraduate students role. With our creative and innovative ideas, we can
utilize STEM-based resource (Science Technology Engineering and
Mathematic) to create and concept
new methods that is applicable for
both upstream and downstream of
oil and gas industry. Its obviously
not an easy job to create an innovation without an integrated commit-

ment among all engineering fields,

thus 19th Oil Expo 2016 holds a
place to connect any engineering
majors to contribute and re-build
our oil and gas industry 20, 40 years
ahead. Therefore, regardless whether crude oil price hit 20 USD/Barrel
or even 200 USD/Barrel, this industry remains demand of Indonesian
youth engineer generations big role.
Another applicable strategy in
which easy to use for undergraduate student manifest our creativity in this oil price crisis era, that is
establishing or starting up a business (entrepreneurship). With the
freeze of Indonesia oil and gas job
vacancy weakened by Global Economy Crisis, doesnt means that we
keep silent hoping for the rebound
of 100 USD/barrel crude oil price.
We still able to drill our deepest po-

tential by creating small economy

project which is valuable, meet the
economics expectation, long-term
lifespan, and big-profit-potential.
By establishing our own business
doesnt mean that we are giving up
from oil and gas industry, but we as
an Indonesian was born with creativity shouldnt relying with the
job vacancy, but creating it (job vacancy) instead.
