Getting a scholarship or financial aid from universities is always a good
idea because it really helps a student financially with their studies, often
decreasing the incidence of burden caused by procuring an education
loan. There are number of scholarships, grants and bursaries to financially
support international students while they are in Australia for their studies.
Here are the details of some of the major scholarships program available
for international students:
Australia Awards Scholarships: Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly
known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), are long term
development awards that provide opportunities for people from
developing countries, particularly those countries located in the IndoPacific region, to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study
at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further
Education (TAFE) institutions. The scholarship benefits generally include:
full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to
living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), etc. The
program brings together scholarships offered by the Department of
Foreign Affairs (DFAT), the Department of Education and the Australian
Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).

International Postgraduate Research Scholarships: The IPRS program
enables international students to undertake a postgraduate research
qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian
researchers. The scholarships are available for a period of two years for a
Masters by research degree or three years for a Doctorate by research
degree. The scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs.

Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarships for International Students: The
Endeavour Postgraduate Awards provide full financial support for
international students from the Asia- Pacific region, Middle East, Europe

and America to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters or

PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study in
Australia. The scholarships include tuition fees, travel allowance,
establishment allowance, monthly stipend as well as health and travel
insurance.
