THE NEIL LATCHMAN BURSARY


FACT SHEET:
The Neil Latchman Bursary is one of the initiatives of the Patrons of Queens Halls
Development Programme. It is a monetary award that is granted on the basis of financial need
and is offered to promising/outstanding students in the pursuit of Vocal (Singing) Studies.
Neil Latchman, renowned Tenor, started singing as early as age six (6) in Trinidad. Now based
in the United Kingdom, he has an extremely challenging recital and concert career, performing
internationally. Deeply committed to developing the Performing Arts in Trinidad, especially
voice, Neil Latchman made the offer to fund an annual Bursary through the Patrons of Queens
Hall.

Terms and Conditions:


To qualify for the Neil Latchman Bursary applicants must meet the following criteria:

Must be between 18 -28 years of age.


A national and citizen of Trinidad & Tobago
The Bursary must be used strictly within the prescribed period of the proposed course of
study and exclusively and for the purposes agreed by the Patrons and as identified in the
offer letter.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview and if requested, an audition
to be held in June of the year of application.
Applicants must provide proof of acceptance at a tertiary / accredited institution of
learning in the Performing Arts. Photo of applicant must be attached to the application
form.
Applicants awaiting confirmation of admission to tertiary/ institution of learning may still
apply for a bursary. However, proof of admission into the institution must be produced at
the time of the scheduled interview or upon the award of the Bursary, if successful.

The Bursary may be applied to any of the following:


1) Admission or Registration fees
2) Tuition/Course fees
3) Learning materials/aids
4) Travel expenses relating to the programme of study
5) Living expenses (food and lodging)
6) Other - specifically authorised by the Patrons
The successful recipient/s of a Bursary will be required to provide proof that the Award has been
applied to any of the areas listed above.

2016 Bursary:
The quantum of the 2016 Bursary is $5,000.00 (TTD) and will be offered in the field of VOICE
(Singing).
Application for the Neil Latchman Bursary is by completion of a form, obtainable from The
Patrons of Queens Hall email: patronsqh@gmail.com and must be submitted on or before
19th May, 2016. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed/auditioned on June 2nd, 2016.
