4.1

Anti-Corrosion Treatment

4.1.1 Installation Atmosphere

Outdoor units with anti-corrosion specifications are designed specifically for use in areas which are subject to salt
damage and atmospheric pollution. The following anti-corrosion specifications are available.
This specification is recommended by Daikin and shall be used as a reference.

Where the distance between the outdoor unit and the

sea shore is more than 300m and less than 1km.

Remark:
1. The Anti-Corrosion specification means the specification which allows the unit to be installed in the atmosphere of sea wind but
not at the location where the sea wind directly blows on the unit.
2. The units with this specification are manufactured by customers request on mass production base.

The units with anti-corrosion treatment will be available as standard. Please specify the suffix E as REYQ8~48PY1E.
It is advisable to follow the installation and maintenance precautions below.
Air conditioners should not be installed in areas where corrosive gases, such as acid gas or alkaline gas, are
produced.
If the outdoor unit is to be installed close to the sea shore, direct exposure to the sea breeze should be avoided
and choose an outdoor unit with anti-corrosion treatment.
Install the machine to the leeward of the building.
Even if it is unavoidable to install the machine on the seaside, set up a windbreak not to get it exposed to the sea
breeze.
Be careful not to confuse the setup direction. (Corrosion depends on whether the unit is placed parallel with or at
right angles to the sea.)
Select a well-drained spot.
When installing the machine on the seashore or in such an ambient condition, contact your DAIKIN dealer.
