2. Design and Culture


Definition:
This module focuses both on the theoretical foundations of interior architecture practices and the synthesis of theoretical
and practical knowledge through the studio courses. Students of this module are expected to specialize in housing,

spatial history, space typologies, modern interiors and spatiocultural representations in literature and cinema.

3.Environmental Technologies
Definition: This module focuses on both the theoretical knowledge on energyefficient building design and the
implementation of it to architectural design projects. Students of this module are expected to specialize in the principles
and methods of energyefficient building design, bioclimatic design, passive solar architecture and interior life cycle
analysis.

TERMS of APPLICATION
CHOOSING A PROGRAM
In the first semester of students registration, until the end of the adddrop week, students choose a module by making
an application to the Department of Interior Architecture. The department informs Graduate School of Natural and
Applied Sciences. Students have the right to change their registered module until the time they enroll in the thesis
course.
ASSIGNMENT of AN ADVISOR
After selection of the programs, an advisor from the selected program is assigned to each student until the assignment of
the thesis advisor. Advisors of the thesis semester are assigned according to Yaar University Graduate School Regulations.
GRADUATION
In the graduation certificate, the name of the chosen program is stated in addition to the name of the department.
Graduation requirements are as follows:
* Students are required to take minimum one Interior Architecture Studio course from the chosen program.
* Students are required to take minimum two elective courses from the chosen program.
* Students are required to submit a thesis related with the chosen program.
