ABSTRAC
Methodology: This study corresponded to a descriptive transversal design, and determined
the effectiveness of the implementation of techniques for neurological assessment
Prehospital Prehospital personnel of the Fire Department of the Metropolitan District of
Quito in patients with suspected Cerebrovascular Event suffer in the period from May to
October 2014. Resultados: The Fire Department of the Metropolitan District of Quito,
attended 8765 emergencies, being the month of May in which they attended, the 17.91%;
then the cases seen in the month of October with a 16.65% are located. Brain Vascular
Events accounted for 1.47% of global emergencies. 90% of cases of cerebrovascular events
using Prehospital Cerebrovascular Event Scale was identified Cincinnati. Conclusions: By
applying the technique to identify neurological assessment Prehospital Brain Vascular
Events Cincinnati with the Glasgow Coma Scale, the staff of the Fire Department of the
Metropolitan District of Quito, was an accurate way to identify 150 cases that arose from
May to October 2014. La Most cerebrovascular events occurred in women. Upper limb
deficiency by applying Scale Cincinnati was the most decisive in identifying
cerebrovascular events, it was presented in 88.13% of the cases handled by the emergency.
In 10% of cases identified as Cerebrovascular Event it was impossible to apply some
Prehospital neurological assessment technique so only the Glasgow Coma Scale was
applied for the same identification.
