Introduction
HiMobile is a client for Industrial HiVision v05.1.00 or newer. It provides
comprehensive status information about any networked device, directly on a
smartphone or tablet.
HiMobile is a stand-alone app which runs on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.
The HiMobile app can be downloaded from the following app stores:

Apple App Store

Google Play Store

Windows Phone Store

For live operation, HiMobile requires a connection to an Industrial HiVision server.

HiMobile includes a demo mode, which allows you to demonstrate the app without
being connected to an Industrial HiVision server. This document describes how to
demonstrate HiMobile, without a connection to an Industrial HiVision server.

Getting Started
Download and install the app on your phone or tablet.
Start HiMobile.

Settings Menu
Click the cog wheel in the bottom right of the screen to go to the Settings menu.

Swipe the Demo Mode button to enable the demonstration mode.

At the bottom of the screen there is a Connection Test button. For live operation, this
is used to test the connection between the phone and the Industrial HiVision Server.
Tap the button anyway, to show the Success screen.

Tap OK to close the Success screen. Tap the left arrow at the bottom of the screen
to return to the main menu.

Tap the ? at the bottom of the screen to show the on-line help.

Swipe down to see the complete text.

Tap Done to return to the main menu.

Network Menu
Tap the Network menu item to open the network view mode.

The network view represents the identical tree structure which is used in the
Industrial HiVision server.

In this case:
Hirschmann
New Devices
Unused Devices
Production Cell 1
Application Lab
Hirschmann is the root of the tree. The ! icon next to the name confirms that a
device lower down the tree has the status Warning. Tap the Hirschmann entry.

The above four sub folders are displayed. Again, the icon next to the folder name,
plus the icon colour, indicate the status of devices lower down the tree. So in the

Application Lab folder, all devices are OK. In the Production Cell 1 folder, at least one
device has the status Warning. In the Unused Devices folder, no devices are being
supervised.
Tap the Application Lab entry.

You will now see all devices in the Application Lab folder. They all have a green icon,
indicating normal operation.
Tap any entry, for example 82.141.17.135.

The first screen shows the device status, in this case OK. Note the three dots at the
bottom of the screen.
Swipe from right to left.

Device status parameters are now displayed. Swipe up to display all the parameters.

Swipe from right to left again.

Now the ports are displayed. The ports with an active link state have a green icon.
Tap a port with a green icon.

You will see the status of the port.

Swipe from right to left.

The port configuration and status parameters will be displayed.

Swipe up to display all the parameters.

Use the Left arrow to return to the folders screen.

Tap the Production Cell 1 entry.

Most devices have Green/OK status, but some have Yellow/Warning status. Tap a
device with Warning status.

The screen now displays the reason for the warning. If there is more than one
reason, all reasons are displayed. For example, with 82.141.17.131, the device
configuration has not been saved, the ACA is not in synch, and the fan has failed.
Use the Left arrow or the Home symbol to get back to the main menu.

10

Event List Menu

Tap the Event List menu item. This shows the Event Log from Industrial HiVision.

Click any event log entry to see full information about the event.

Use the Left arrow to move back.

11

At the top right of the screen is a symbol consisting of three dots. Tap the symbol.

Select Filter by. .

Select Warnings and Errors. Now only warnings and errors are displayed in the
event log.

Use the Left arrow to return to the main menu.

Device Status Menu

HiMobile is designed to be a rapid response tool. Imagine this scenario:
A network administrator is walking past a rack of switches, and notices that one
switch has an active fault LED. The network administrator scans a QR code on the
front of the device using a smart phone. HiMobile opens an interface to the device.
The network administrator immediately has information about the device. This
permits the fastest possible response to a problem.

13

Industrial HiVision v05.1.00 or newer can generate QR codes for each switch, using
MultiConfig. The QR codes can be printed and attached to each switch.

For this off-line demo, you can use the QR codes on the next page to connect to the
demo devices.

14

Tap Device Status to open the QR code reader.

Scan one of the following codes, to be connected directly to the relevant device in the
demo network:

MACH4002

EAGLE20-04

RSP35
