Patent
Hardrock SPA roofing boards are protected by patent
number 23122695.
Dimensions
Advantages
High strength
Improved point load compressive resistance
Non-combustible
Fire resistance up to 2 hours (see page 9 for details)
Tested and assessed by BRE/LPC
Listed as an LPCB approved product
LPS 1181: Part 1 Grade EXT-A rated constructions
Exceptional acoustic performance
Superoir sound reduction and absorption
Effective rain noise solutions
BREEAM Schools 2008 solutions
Dimensionally stable
Cantilever performance
Suitable for new build and refurbishment
Typical application
Available in plain board or with tissue or single ply
adhered (SPA) facing.
Single ply mechanically fastened membrane systems:
Quicker installation time than other commonly used
roofing boards
Fewer insulation fasteners
Single ply fully adhered membrane systems:
Chemically inert
Approved membrane systems
Built-up felt roofing systems:
3G layer not required
Dimensional stability
Hardrock Dual Density roofing boards are dimensionally
stable when tested to EN 1604. and therefore do not
exert any undesirable stress on the waterproof
membrane.
General
Working platform
Resistance to moisture
Rockwool consists of randomly orientated waterrepellent fibres that prevent the centre of the boards
from moisture. Wetting will therefore only occur in
proximity to a board's surface.

Please note:
50mm boards may not be cantilevered
For 50mm boards the maximum through width
is 75mm.

LPCB approvals
Roofing constructions incorporating Hardrock Dual
Density roofing boards have achieved the highest
possible classification to LPS 1181:Part 1 (i.e. EXT-A).
This was accomplished by successfully undertaking and
passing the Part 1 test for reaction to fire and the more
onerous LPS 1208 Resistance to Fire test. Rockwool
roofing boards are the only insulation products to have
achieved this classification with respect to built-up
warm flat roofing constructions.
Table 2 and Figure 9 provide details of the typical roof
construction tested and the performance expected from
various thicknesses of the Hardrock Dual Density
insulation.

Specify SPRA
The Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) represents
membrane manufacturers, associated component
manufacturers and specialist subcontractors and aims
to ensure the delivery of best value single ply roofing
systems, through a quality assured partnership.
By specifying products and specialist installation by
SPRA Manufacturer, Associate and Contractor members
you can be assured that all parties meet strict
quality criteria.
Compliance with these criteria and with the Code of
Conduct is assessed at application, by annual audit and
by random spot checks.
