STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The important thing is not to stop questioning; because curiosity has its own reasons for
existing .One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of
life and of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to

Keep on learning, keep on educating yourself. Knowledge never goes to waste, as said by
my father, has always been my motto. My thirst for knowledge has led me to explore
various avenues ranging from robotics to automobiles. As far as I can remember there has
always been a special place for automotive technology and renewable energy in my life.
I have always believed in the above adage and realized early in my life that
industriousness and hard work are the only investments that never fail. If I were to
mention one quality in me that sets me apart from others, it is my never-say-die spirit that
has goaded me on and on.
Right from my school days I found myself fascinated by the intricacies of mathematics and
physics. My years in school, apart from providing a strong foundation in Math and Basic
Sciences, also enabled me to develop my overall personality. Being an avid student in
school days, I actively participated in science workshops. I finished my schooling with 81%
in my 10th class. My innate strengths have been my quantitative and analytical abilities, which
instilled in me a special interest in mathematics and made me to opt for Physics,
Mathematics and Chemistry as my majors at 10 + 2 level and passed with an aggregate of
88.7%. I was placed among the top 5% of 110,000 odd students in a state level entrance
examination for undergraduate study through which I could cherish my dream of getting into
the stream of Mechanical Engineering in a reputed institution Auroras scientific technological
research and academy (ASTRA) affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University
(JNTU), Hyderabad, One of the most prestigious institutions in INDIA, the first step
towards my goal. The college has accredited A grade by NBA and AICTE.
Educational enrichment occurs in environments that include a variety of ethnic and cultural
backgrounds. A College, like ASTRA that includes students from various parts of the
country meets such standards.
A fascination for science and keen interest in the ever growing world of technology
motivated me to take up Engineering. I chose to major in Mechanical Engineering for my
under graduation with an intense urge to delve deeper in to the challenging field. My
undergraduate course has given me a comprehensive knowledge of the basic areas in
Kinematics of machines, Thermal engineering, Design of machine members, Power plant
engineering, Heat Transfer and Finite Element Methods. The varied mechanical
engineering courses have implanted a lot of enthusiasm in me. Attending of various
mechanical workshops held in our college during National level Technical Festivals has
helped me in understanding the practical aspects of mechanical courses. Of all the
courses, Design and Manufacture has provoked a special interest in me. I have learnt
CAD software like AUTO CAD SOLIDWORKS and CNC at CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF

TOOL DESIGN (CITD) in Hyderabad. These softwares paved way for the improvement
in learning process of CAD. Besides Ive learnt many manufacturing processes like
welding, drilling etc. I also have sufficient software knowledge in programming
languages- C language, Data Structures.
Having technical knowledge alone does not complete the entire personality of a person.
Even I believe in the same. In addition to the core academic aspects, I have
participated in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. I served as CHAIR PERSON
for the most active club of our college SAEINDIA AURORAS SCIENTIFIC
TECHONOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND ACADEMY COLLIGIATE CLUB. I have
organized many state and national level events like UDBHAV and
AUTOMOBILE DAY. I have presented papers in various college at different national
level events on the topics MICRO ELECTRONIC MECHANICAL SYSTEMS
(MEMS) & ELIBERT EINSTEIN ATV. and also participated in various events like
AUTO-QUIZ,
I have won various prizes in different events conducted by other
colleges. I have represented as department representative for the mechanical department in
AURORSS (ASTRA). I have great curiosity to learn and a knack of implementing
knowledge in real world satiations. I have experience in industrial infrastructure because I
have INDUSTRIAL IMPLANT TRAINING IN CITD. I even have the experience as an
intern in QUALITY DEPARTMENT OF TATA LOCKHEED MARTIN
AEROSTRUCTURE LIMITED. I have served the nation as NATIONAL CADET CORPS
(NCC). and took active participation in various NGOS program. I did participated in
ADVENTROUS MOUNTAINEERING. and certified by NEHRU INSTITUTE OF
MOUNTAINEERING (NIM) UTTARKASHI INDIA. I believe Design and
Manufacturing is the right choice for me considering my performance in the said field
coupled with my passion for it.
The nature of undergraduate study does not offer enough scope for individual expression
while rapidly advancing technology necessitates mastery of particular areas. I believe
that M.S program provide me the essential tools to excel in my field of interest and
platform. In my graduate program, my goal is to expand my mental horizons, enhance my
problem detection, analysis and solution skills and gain a comprehensive knowledge in
my field. I am extremely interested in the field of Design and Manufacturing and have
done an extensive work in it. My project works and co-curricular activities are a
testimony to it.
From the information garnered, I have inferred that the graduate program in
Mechanical Engineering at your esteemed university has an eminent faculty and
excellent facilities for research. Moreover the research work in the department is an
exact match to my field of interest. Also, my interaction with highly motivated and
intellectual peers will keep me focused and make my study a pleasurable experience. I
would also benefit from their cultural diversity and professional expertise. I would
benefit greatly from the world-class faculty and cutting edge facilities provided at
your university.

Lastly I would end by quoting Newton, Science is like a vast beach spread in front of me
and my knowledge is just a small pebble in that beach. To be a more significant part
of this vast beach, I consider it important to obtain my Masters Degree from a
University of repute such as yours. For, I believe, the means is as important as the end.
Given a chance to study at your prestigious university, I would strive to be worthy of my
own expectations and those of my parents and teachers.
