The manual of the MPC XX00 B gives you a throrough and detailled description of the
main applications of the user interface.
This document shall not replace the manual. It contains only those features that you
really should know. Partly detailled descriptions will be given, partly it will be referred
to the manual. In addition this document will direct your attention on features that are
very helpful for you, that could save you time or be of benefit for your customer. Some
of them are listed in the manual, some are not. To make sure you at least heard of
them we will list them in this chapter. If a detailled description is offered in the manual
an indication will be given.

7.1

Things you need to know

Make sure your customer knows

1.

Changing operation language

More than 10 languages are implemented in the panel and always available. The
default language is determined by the Main Panel Controller type, but can be
changed in RPS. On the panel itself you can always change the language during
running operation. After HW-reboot the panel wll start with the standard language
again (as programmed in RPS). In general only the Manual and LED sticker delivered according to the Main Panel controller type
How to do it:
Short cut: Press the following key sequence: Home key 1 in keypad OK
select language Language has been changed

2.

Installer contact screen

With this feature you can make sure that in case of problems the end user will always know how and where to reach you. It offers two kind of information:
-

Contact Data of the installer (assigned by installer)

Date system installed (assigned by panel)

Firmware version of the panel (assigned by panel)

In FSP-5000-RPS you can enter all your contact data, which will then be shown
when the wrench icon on top of the touch foil is pressed. Make sure you always enter these data in RPS.

&
3.

The secure way your customer knows who to contact in case of problems
Overview of internal panel data
This feature belongs to diagnostics. Calling up this screen you receive information
about the firmware version, the CAN ID number, PCBA material number etc. You
might need it only rarely, but it is good to now it exists

Change from day to night mode and night to day mode

Things you should now about this features:
Changing to day / night mode is done in only 1 second by pressing only two
keys
Switching the panel to day mode must be done manually, switching to night
mode can be done automatically and programmed in the panel.
The automatic switch back time to night mode can be changed on the panel.
After HW-reboot of the panel the original switch back time is assigned again,
prior manual got lost
Only those elements can be switched to day mode, if the day mode feature
has been assigned to their element group in FSP-5000 RPS.
Indication of the mode is shown in the home status bar:
Moon = night mode
Sun = day mode
You can switch the panel to day mode, the status bar will show the sun. BUT all
the elements are still in night mode, because the day mode feature had not been
-

Bosch Security Academy

14 | FPA-5000 Level 1+2 User Interface

assigned to it in FSP-5000-RPS
Make sure to always programm the day mode feature in FSP-5000-RPS

&

Easy and fast change of mode: only 1 second

See chapter XXX in this document and chapter 17 of the manual of the MPC XX00 B

Despite automatic switch back configuration to night mode, changing the time on
the panel is still possible

Things you should know

1.

Unbypassing the internal buzzer

During maintenance and test work on the panel the internal buzzer can be annoying.
You can bypass the internal buzzer very easily
How to do it:
In the home screen select Maintenance then press key Bypass buzzer. If the
buzzer is already bypassed, the field would show Unbypass buzzer

2.

Log in User 9 What happens?

Different access levels exist. The user 9 is the default access code for the installer.
When logging in as User 9, per default automatically all outputs (NAC outputs, relay
outputs, transmission device etc.) will be blocked automatically (fault and fire alarm
messages will surpressed by the panel). In FSP-5000 RPS under Set 32 all these
elements are collected. The blocking can be seen also on the Home Status Bar and
the LED section
User ID: 9
Password: 001357
If no action is taken on the panel, after a defined time of about 10 min. the panel will
log off the user 9 automatically.

&

3.

Security: Security that all outputs are blocked No unwanted activation of outputs during maintenance work on the panel.
Time: By only one click all outputs are bypassed.

Overview of Panel status at one glance home status bar / status key
The LED indication offers a first overview of panel status. More detailled information
is available by the Home Status Bar. If information about additional states is needed, press the key Status on the Home Status Bar. In categories all states not in
normal mode are listed. For more info on concerned elements, press the specific
state field.

&
4.

Ease of use, quick and thorough status information in a few seconds!

Change of detector sensitivity
In FSP-5000-RPS one can assign two different detector sensitivity settings to the
panel. One is the standard setting, the other the alternative. After HW reboot always

Bosch Security Academy

FPA-5000 Level 1+2 User Interface| 15

the standard setting will be assigned again, regardless of previous assignements on

the panel.
This is very helpful, if for a limited time the detector sensitivity should be changed,
e.g. reduced due to temporary works on the site. No change on the programming
SW needs to be done.
How to do it:
Select in home screen the key Configuration then key Detector sensitivity
select type (detector or zone) select the detector or zone the configuration
window appears check the appropriate field
