Manager, Supply Chain Planning and Analytics

DEPARTMENT:

Global Supply Chain Product Operations / Advanced Analytics

REPORTING TO:

Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Planning and Analytics

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Enterprise Advanced Analytics team is chartered with driving revenue and profit
growth opportunities for Gaps Incs enterprise wide business through the development and implementation of
algorithms, simulations, predictive models, and profit maximizing analytical processes.
Some examples of the key projects are: network optimization, dynamic shipping, inbound inventory allocation
strategies and KPI Development.
This position will be located in Mumbai, India and interacts with a variety of functions across Gap Incs business
units including Brands, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Engineering, IT and Business Intelligence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analytics and Reporting
Work cross-functionally to understand, document and define processes and identify gaps that will result
in process improvements
Understand the sources of key data structures and the relationship amongst these data structures within
GSC data warehouse infrastructure and as necessary, within Gap Inc. infrastructure
Work with the business teams to understand current and future improvement opportunities and help
prioritize these initiatives based on data driven business value
Design algorithm and analytics based supply chain solutions that will track performance improvement
against current state
Identify and implement new business critical metrics that enhance measures around speed, delivery
performance, and cost and can measure the associated improvement over time
Design and deliver reporting that will track performance improvement against current state
Deliver the reporting and summarize recommendations based on results on a regular basis to key BPs
Become the data quality gate keeper that identifies discrepancies/gaps and works with the necessary
sources to monitor and cleanse the data
Facilitate the integration of external data sources into our data warehouse environment as we continue
to expand our KPI portfolio in relation to customer satisfaction
Create visual reporting and graphical depictions of data
Implementation
Enhance and/or implement tools to streamline advanced analytics around what-if scenario mapping
and incorporates business specific rules and constraints
Perform simulations around business critical problems and surface recommendations based on the
results of executing various scenario modeling exercises
Heavy utilization of Llamasoft, SQL, Excel and other analytical applications that are integral to
implementing Supply Chain simulation based models
Be accountable for the documentation of supply chain process design opportunities and work in
conjunction with IT to develop the applicable requirements/user stories, user acceptance testing, and
business implementation / change management of new tools and features
Be responsible for development of feature definition, detailed requirements, business process changes,
internal communications, and implementation plans for solution/feature deployment
Communication and presentation
Ability to gather requirements from key BPs

Communicate summaries of findings to all levels of leadership


Be accountable for the documentation of reporting process design opportunities and work in conjunction
with IT to develop the applicable requirements/user stories, user acceptance testing, and business
implementation / change management of new reports and features
Be responsible for development of feature definition, detailed requirements, business process changes,
internal communications, and implementation plans for solution/feature deployment

REQUIREMENTS:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Proven experience in analytically driven supply chain management techniques
Exceptional quantitative skills with expertise in data manipulation and summarization
High proficiency in use of Supply Chain modeling software, Excel, SQL and other database tools
Knowledge of Tableau or other data visualization tools
Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable ambiguity;
ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly
Knowledge of software development and ability to develop toolsets in an extremely self-directed
environment
Exceptional attention to detail; ensures deliverables are of high quality
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad cross section of business partners
Strong oral and written presentation skills
2) Minimum educational level:
BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Management Information Sciences, Industrial Engineering,
Operations Research, Operations Management, Statistics or related field
3) Minimum experience:
5+ years of total work experience, with at least 5 years in analytically based network design and/or
inventory management
Prior experience in online retailing/marketplaces or other end-customer direct business models
