The business I decided to go with is Apple Inc. As most people know this company was
founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976. Their prime focus
in the beginning was to develop and sell personal computers but, as years passed and they
evolved and so did the products. The products they have are iPhone smartphone, iPad tablet
computer, Mac personal computer, iPod portable media player, apple watch smartwatch, apple
TV digital media player and more products that goes into software. Apple is the worlds largest
information technology company by revenue.
The operation strategies that I would implement would be performance, operation
strategy process and process. The reason why I would implement performance is because, I want
to be able to view and understand the cost which is referred to the ability of an operations system
to deliver an output at minimum cost. In addition, to ensure that the quality that is being output is
higher than the competitors, dependability of delivery which makes sure the customer gets their
product on time by the due date and speed would be how fast we would deliver the output faster
than the competitor. I want to be the best in the industry and continue to be maintain that status
of superior.
Next I would implement process, which is a set documented and repeatable method for
executing an organizational task. I will ensure that the process is align with the strategic
objectives. An important part of the process is capital intensity. Capital intensity process requires
a large investment of corporate funds that can only be recouped by producing and selling a large
number of products. Since, Apple products are in high demand worldwide it is wise to capitalize
on it and this will allow the company to experience economies of scale. Lastly, I would
implement operations strategy process to help set the organizations process by which many
stakeholders can collectively formulate an operations strategy.

These are the three operations strategies that I would implement to help Apple INC. I will
also implement three operations functions. The functions that I will implement are output,
customers and integration.
The first function I would implement is output, which is the conceptual description of the
tangible or intangible and result of the act of producing through an operations system. If the
company can find ways to produce more outputs with the same quantity of inputs, maintain
output levels but decrease inputs and combine an increase in outputs with a reduction in inputs
they would be able to increase revenue.
Next is customers, they are the ultimate recipients of the provision of a good or service
by an operations system. They can be close to, or remote from, an operations system, but in the
cases their demands and needs are the prime inputs for the design of an operations system. I
would make sure to understand and hear the customers concern. I will take into account the voice
of the customers when making decisions, identify improvement priorities and guide resource
allocation, track company performance along with that of competitors. I will create a database so
it can be used to correct poor service and to recognize and reward excellent service. A great way
of interacting with customers is with customer relationship management (CRM) which is a
computer based system that allows large firms to build a database and to interact with customers.
We will have to get the (CPV) customer perceived value and that includes customer value is
market perceived, customer value is relative, and customer value is dynamic. In addition, we
have customer contact that is the extent to which the customer will be part of the execution of a
process. Like I mention earlier the customer is important since without them there is no business,
no revenue and no profit. Lastly, I would implement integration that has the capability of
providing a real time seamless co-ordination of processes within operations systems. It is very

important to have integration implemented to ensure that the companys plans are executed
smoothly and that any supporting information is exchanged at the right time without distortions
and that deviations from the plan are detected instantly, reported, and then acted upon.
The way Apple INC has their quality management is by Senior VP for Operations
coordinates with eight other Senior VPs to ensure compliance with the companys quality
standards. Apple is known for high quality standards that permeate different areas of the
business, including product design and development, retail, marketing, online sales, industrial
design, and human resource management. Thus, Apple has a holistic approach in ensuring
quality to address this decision area of operations management. The other parts of their
operations management are design of goods and services which apples processes in the design
of its products are handled through a number organizational components and officials. The job
design and human resources strategies specific to the trends that Apples HR needs. Apple HR
strategies were based on Steve Jobs desires but, since his departure it has changed to be a more
sociable workplace. Apples supply chain is among the most efficient and streamlined in the
world. Apple also has scheduling and for this area of operations goes through a combination of
automation and manual process. Automation is used for scheduling activities in the supply chain
and production processes. And manual is used for individual area of operations to maximize the
capacity utilization of facilities, equipment and human resources.
In conclusion, Apple INC has a very sophisticated way of doing business and how they
operate. They have a great plan in place but, if they just implement or put me emphases on the
functions that I mention (output, customers and integration) and operational strategies
(performance, operation strategy process and process) there future will continue to be promising.

In Tim Cook words Its a special place where we have the opportunity to create the best
products on earth products that change lives and help shape the future.
