Background

City is a collective space which belongs to all those who live in it and it is
a common good of the commoners who live in it, and these commoners
have the right to create space for their shared right, but the concept of
the city is blocked by capitalist based on different in public privet good.
A city is not just a common an ground that we shred in which we are
existing today, it i also a shared experience and the common back ground
that explain us where we came from and where are we are going to?
Settlements origin when mankind stopped wandering, hunting and started
to settle at a place for cultivation and giving scene to existing o avoid of
getting lost.
Culture of the group settle down for cultivation is described as the
technique or the art dealing with nature. a culture is nothing else but a
transmission or sharing of the technique as an art of dealing with the
things around. The remains of all the techniques of a generation that
landed in their lives help succours to learn things from that point without
starting from the past. Since the origin of settlement by group of people,
when accelerated by us the techniques of dealing the world or the cultural
heritage had become increasingly complex and numerous. The chance of
sharing or transferring techniques or wealth is impossible without
diversity, which can be created by the private properties.
Public space is the back bone of private, without public spaces we cannot
have private spaces.

Need of study /rationale

Society is referred to as group of people who share common area, culture
and behaviour patterns.
Society is united and referred as a distinct entity. In a society each every
individual is important each individual can contribute something to the
society.

Scope and limitation of the project

To study and understand the quality of a commoners space and design a
convention centre as a commoners property.
The project limits in understanding the role of people with their city
(chosen for the project) or the role of commons and their commoners. It
aims at providing a centre that supports the urban pocket which is not
completely a cultural centre but a common centre the urban culture.

Methodology
The research part will be ased on qualitative and quantitative research
methodologies on documentary, literary works and theoretical
investigation on centre and all components.
Although different component of the project are found commonly. To be
able to reach to a viable architectural design solution, each idea
conceived must grow into a concept which analyses and understand the
functional and technical aspects of the project.

Commons
Commons refers to cultural and natural resource accessible to all
members of society, which are held in common and not owned privately.
Public and private property over which people have certain common rights
come under this category. a person who has a right in or over a common
land or property with other is called a commoner.

Urban commons
Urban commons refers to collecllively shared resources,related to urban
environment, such as streets ,parks,squares and shared neighbourhood
amenities etc.
They can be approached as environment ,system or infrastructure that is
shaping the interactions and participation of proposal and resources but
the vast arrays of created cultural that are expressed shared by the
people are called cultural commons.

Public space
Spaces those are shared by strangers can be called public spaces and
they are two types.
o Single minded public space
o Open minded public space

Single minded public space

Single minded spaces are those spaces which are designed,planned,built

and used with only one activity.
The fulfil single function e.g. offices,carpark,houses

Open minded public space

Those spaces which provide a context of mixed use .these spaces are
more likely to be used for activities of a less hurried nature Ex:plazas
squares etc.and acitivities like watching, walking eating discussing etc.

Public space as urban commons

A public space becomes an urban commons when people assemble to
express or share a set of right.urban commons should be designed in such
a way that they are open to all and the activities created in those space
should be participatory by every citizen.
Built landscapes should be adaptable to be changing circumstances. To
achieve urban interaction mean thinking of open apace not as an isolated
unit but as a vital part of urban landscape with its owe specific set of
function.
The public space can be a street,park,or a square. A public space should
be conceived as an outdoor room with a neighbourhood or a venue or a
range of different activities. It works best when they establish a direct
relationship between the space and the people who live and work around
it.

Character in urban spaces

When public spaces are successful they will increase the opportunities to
participate in communal or common activity which develops the growth of
public life. Thus public spaces become vessels to carry positive communal
values.
