Well, the time I am going to share with you was when my daughter, who was
only, like three years old, did something that really made me laugh.
She has done a lot of amusing things as well, but this time, for me, was
definitely the most funny. And not just me but all members in my family at that
time feel it hilarious and I will explain in a moment.
On the evening that day, when I was working on my computer, my daughter
walked up and started to sing alone and dance around the room. She was so cute
that everyone in my home just burst out laughing because none of us expected
her to do that. It was completely out of the blue.
I guess she must watch the music video on television at some stages, and picked

You should say:
what the game was
who you played it with
how you played it

I have played several games both outdoor games and indoor games. Among those

players participate.
This game does not involve any major physical movements like the other outdoor
games but a chess player has to use his or her brain and make plan to defeat the
opponent.
I mostly play chess with my friends and cousins. Sometimes I play it with my
father and senior relatives. Playing chess requires only placing the board on a
surface and a sitting position for the two players. Therefore, it is very convenient to
play chess almost everywhere. I mostly play chess in our veranda, garden and my
room.
This game requires players to make perfect plan, find weaknesses of the opponent
and a battle strategy. A player can use his or strategy to allure the opponent to fall
in trap which is much like a real battle field. Besides, playing chess gives you the
feeling of being the King of the regime where you decide your countrys destiny.
For the above reasons, this is an interesting and enjoyable game to me.

Well, speaking of an age I mostly enjoy in my life, I would like to describe the
year when I was about 18 years old. That was the best year of high school before
entering to the university.
At that time, I was a member of a football team in my class and we played a lot of
football match after classes. Almost all of my friends were big fan of football, so
we found it easy to get enough guys together and then went to the playground.
I really wanted to go back then because you know, after growing up, it seems to be
hard to find the suitable guys and teams to play football again. Everyone seems to
be busy all the time.
Although we were facing the coming examination and everyone was so stressful, I
thought it was worth spending a lot of time and energy in the playground, which

After years of physical exercise, we all kept the fitness and our body shape greatly,

The photo was taken by my daughter to be honest, when we were hiking in the

cloud. It is neither too hot nor too cold.
I asked her to pose for me with colorful scenery along the path and took a lot of
pictures of her. Finally, she asked me to give her the camera to take a picture of
me. I agreed because I thought she would probably a little fan of photography due
to my influence.
In fact, the photo she took of me was very good. It was very clear and not blurred

In addition, it has a patio with hanging gardens that I like very much, and it makes
me feel that I am sitting in a garden of my own.

which is located in the Old Quarter, the very central part of Hanoi.
Turtle Tower was built in the late 1800s where Ta Vong temple an earlier
temple, had stood. The temple was built to honor a famous king Le Loi, who
fought foreign invaders.
Legend has it that the Lake was a place where the Dragon King reclaimed the
sword he had given to Le Loi to free Vietnamese people from enemies from the
North.
Today, so many people visit the lake and tower to take pictures of hundred-yearold turtles surfacing, which has long been considered as a sign of good fortune by
locals.
The Turtle Tower, I strongly believe, has a huge significance in Vietnamese
history as well as culture.

city develop from a small town and grow in to a modern metropolitan area in the
new era.

Page 24

With the skyrocketing population, the environment of Hanoi has become

increasingly polluted. I think an environmental law should be enacted to solve this
situation.
First of all, the authority should consider putting more trash bins out in the streets,
so people wont throw rubbish anytime anywhere. In addition, the police should
heavily fine those who are caught littering the street. By doing so, we could not
only save a lot of money from cleaning costs but also improve the surrounding
public scenery.
Second, the government should run a campaign to educate people how to classify
and separate garbage before throwing it out. This is necessary because unsorted
garbage would contribute to pollution of underground water and the earth.
In my opinion, although these above actions are minor, they would contribute to
diminishing the impact of pollution in our local area if they were done in collective
levels.
36.Describe an article you read in a magazine or on the internet about
healthy living.
You should say:
what the article was about
where you read it (which magazine or website)
and explain what you learned/thought from the article.
Today, I would like to share with you an article I read on the internet last week. It
talked about the decision of Hanois authority making the environment better in
order to improve the healthy living condition for residents.
First of all, the government will consider putting more trash bins out in the streets,
so people wont throw rubbish anytime anywhere. In addition, the police will
heavily fine those who are caught littering the streets. By doing so, we can not only

save a lot of money from cleaning costs but also improve the surrounding public

and separate garbage before throwing it out. This is necessary because unsorted
garbage will contribute to the pollution of underground water and the earth.
In my opinion, although these above actions are minor, they will contribute to
diminishing the impacts of pollution in our local area and contribute to taking
precautions against diseases and create a better environment for peoples health.

know.
Describe an occasion when you unexpectedly met someone you know.

and explain why you were surprised to meet this person.
Today, I am going to share with you the time when I was very surprised to meet
my old friend in the airport in HCM city. That was in the end of last year when the
Spring Festival was coming and I was going back to my home town.
I was reading a magazine while waiting for my flight, I heard a voice calling my
name. I looked around and found that my old friend was standing in front of me
and smiling at me.

Page 26

It was really surprised because you know, it is nearly impossible to meet a person
you know in such a big city. Eventually, we took the same airplane to the same
destination. He was taking a business trip to my home town.
I was very exciting due to we hadnt seen each other for about 2 years. Therefore,
we had a lot of things to talk about. Over a cup of tea, we shared our stories which
happened during the two years. The waiting hours passed very quickly, before we
started to board, we left each others telephone numbers and promised to keep in
touch in the future time.

about art activity. I love watching television programs in media room that teach us
how to do crafts.
Bi vit c su tp bi Mr Hong-hc vin lp sng t2-t4 (ielts ngc bch)

Page 27

Actually, there were so many television channels that focus on Do-it-yourself

activities but the one that I found the most interesting was Art attack in Disney
channel. The show aired for 30 minutes once a week.
The host of the show showed us how to fold a paper to create a heart shape and
how we could glue the heart into the blank. When we opened it, the heart popped
up.
Nowadays, it is very easy for us to buy preprinted cards, but none of them are 3D.
Being handmade makes the products more unique and most importantly is that it
was made by me. Imagine that if someone gave you a present and said that it was
made by him or her, how special you would feel.

necessary papers.

Page 28

I remember that I had to stand inside the bus because no seat was available. After
one hour, I left the bus station and went for a walk. Finally, when I entered my
room, I found that my bag was missing.
I had to get back to the street and tried to remember exactly where I lost the item
but I couldnt. I felt so low and depressed so that I could not sleep at night.
I reported to the police station and contacted with the bus authority. One week
later, I gave up all the hopes that I could get my item back. I felt like a child who
lost his important toys. The laptop was very important to me because it had a lot of
study materials and some other files.
I was blaming myself for the whole thing and rebuked me not be more careful.
Honestly, the whole thing and feeling was pretty depressing.

Page 29

I remember that when my family decided to have a holiday in Sapa, we came into a
trouble. Because it was in tourist season, we ran out of train tickets. As a result, we
had to catch taxi the following morning.
On the way, I saw beautiful rice fields that I read or heard about but had never seen
before. These covered the whole sides of mountains and during the ripening of
rice, everything was turning to yellow. It was a valuable experience of life.

a day off, I visit my favorite street in the city. The name of the street is Hoang
Dieu, and it is located near HCM mausoleum. It is the place where I always choose
to go.
I usually go there in the morning, park my car in the nearby parking lot, and walk
along the street. Although I am a sociable person, I really love my own space from
time to time. Living in a metropolitan area doesnt allow me to have time for
myself quite often. It is probably the only time I can escape from reality for a little
while, complete free and just breathe, without worrying about my job.

Bi vit c su tp bi Mr Hong-hc vin lp sng t2-t4 (ielts ngc bch)

Page 30

The street is perfect for my purpose. There are only government offices around
here, so the street is always very quiet. Many big trees are planted on both sides of
the street, and their shade cover the whole street.

would be a small one with 3 rooms in it. But there would be plenty of trees, garden
and a big patio in front of the house.
I enjoy living in a farm house rather than living in a metropolitan building. The
house would be built with woods, leaves, some modern materials and tin.
I had a plan living there when I built my own successful career and started a
family. Living in a farm house like that allows me to enjoy fresh air, clean
environment and fresh foods as well. Thats main reason why I really love living in
a farm house.
Furthermore, I would like to invite my friend over the weekend to experience
outdoor activities with campfire and barbeque.

upstairs in our high-rise in the day time. Therefore, I was really bothered by the
noise of hummers, drills and other power tools.
I was told that a new neighbor has bought new apartment and then they ripped
everything out and started over with bare concrete. Then, the noise of power tools
seemed endless in the daytime and even at the weekend.
I reported to a poverty manager, hoping he would take some actions to solve this
problem. However, he replied to me that the relevant documentary of decoration
was completed. So he could do nothing with the inevitable thing.
The noise of power tools made sleep impossible. Eventually, I could almost felt

This song was wonderful performed by Swedish group ABBA all over the world in
1980s and 1990s. The lyrics the rhythm of the song usually make me remember
the time my whole family preparing for the Tet holiday.
Before new years eve, all members of my home cleaned and decorated our house
with flowers and trees. We also shopped for some clothes to wear on this occasion
as a lot of foods for family gathering.
On new years eve, a big meal was prepared to welcome the first moment of
another year. We ate, drank and sang the song Happy new year cheerfully until
the morning.
Whenever I listen to the song, it reminds me the time we got together to enjoy
ourselves in Tet holiday.
Thats why the song Happy new Year is the most meaningful song to me.

There are three main stages in Tet Festival.

- Before new years eve, family members clean and decorate their house with
flowers and trees. Besides, they also shop for some clothes to wear in this

- On new years eve, a big meal is prepared to welcome the first moment of
another year with friends and family. People eat, drink and sing cheerfully

It tells a story about Barrie, a Scottish play writer develops friendship with a
widower, Sylvia and her four young son whose imaginative give him ideas. He
incorporates with them into a play about boys who do not want to grow up.
The play, Peter Pan, proves a huge success after Sylvia become increasingly weak
from unidentified illness. Therefore, Barrie arranges to have a play performed in

her home. Sylvia dies afterwards, and Barrie found that her will is to have him and
her mother look after the boys.
Jonny Deep played the lead as Barrie and Kate Winslet played the opposite of him.
My wife and I watched this film in a cinema last year.
Finding Neverland is a simple story, but in the tragic and painful ending, it digs
under skin of everyday life to ask a big question, as we grow up, we left behind so
much innocence from the childhood, which touches on the deepest emotion of
normal people.

life. He is very considerate and thoughtful person who has always done his best to
help me make decision in the face of day to day difficulties.
I really consider my father as a model. He has strong personality and never let the
others tell him what to do. I learn from him more about to be responsible and more
determined in the daily life.
He always encourages me to be more outstanding in my works. Whenever we are
together at home, he often discusses with me about my job and gives me some

good advices. His recommendation usually encourages me to try hard and enhance
the high level of job performance.
I strongly believe that my father is one of the reason why I always try my best in
everything I attempt.

night)
You should say:
what you were doing when you looked at the sky
who you were with
what you saw
and explain how you felt when you looked at the sky.
Well, when I was a kid, I was very interested in looking up the sky especially at
night to count the countless stars. I remember that sometimes I lied down on the
grass to see the shining stars.
My hometown was a tourism city without any industrial pollution, so the sky was
very clean and clear. Therefore, I could watch so many stars and sometimes even
the galaxy.
My favorite star constellation is Orion. It is easy for us to spot in the winter night.
- First of all, it has a huge giant red star which may explode anytime soon.
- Besides, it has a massive blue star which is very young.
- On top of that, it also has a nebula where new stars are being born
In my opinion, astronomy plays an important role in our society, because it helps
us to open our eyes as well as reshape how we see the world.
