Laboratory Regulation:
Students are not allowed to work alone without the supervision of the lab instructor.

Any authorized experiment without the knowledge of lab instructor is prohibited.


Students must follow wear lab coats and safety shoes while working in the lab.
Foods, drinks and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the laboratory.
Student bags and other belongings must be kept at the designated places.
Noise must be kept to minimum as a courtesy to respect others.
Workspace has to be cleaned and tidied up after the experiment completed.

All instrument and equipment must be handled with care in sharing with others.
Students shall be liable for damages of equipment caused by individual negligence. If
damage occurred, an investigation will take place to identify the causes and the
names of the involved students will be recorded for faculty attention.
Students shall report immediately to the lab staff/assistant, if the equipment is
suspected to be malfunctioning or faulty.

Students are required to instill an instinctive awareness towards property value of lab
equipment and to be responsible when using it.
Do not attempt to remove or dismantle any parts of the equipment from its original
design without permission. Instrument and equipment must be returned orderly after
using them.
Students are strictly prohibited to take any equipment out from the lab without the

permission of the lab staff/ assistant.


Students should enquire and ask permission from the lab staff/ assistant before
operating the lab equipment.
Student should not attempt to use any unfamiliar equipment without first to consult
the lab instructor/ supervisor. Do not take away any technical manuals from the lab.
Students should report immediately to the lab staff/ assistant in any injury occurred.

Laboratory Regulation:
Student should report immediately to the lab staff/ assistant if discover any damages
of equipment and hazardous situation.

Please check the notice board regularly and pay attention to the lab announcements.
Please check with the lab instructor about the dateline of the lab report submission.
Disciplinary action shall be taken against those student who are failed to comply the
rules and regulations.

Laboratory Safety Rules:


Keeping tidy the working condition in lab always need to be instill.

It is important for each students to follow the procedure given by the lab instructor
when conducting lab experiment.
Students must study the information and understand the procedures mentioned in
the given lab sheet.
Electric shock is a serious fatal error due to human negligence. Thus, do not work
with electricity under wet condition in lab.

If there is unusual condition when working with electrical devices, stop and switch
off the devices immediately. Place a warning note before reporting to the lab staff/
instructor and wait until further instruction.
Please inform lab staff/ instructor if you doubt the condition is not safe during the
experiment.
Do not wear sandals, slippers and high heel shoes inside the lab.

Students with long hair must get their hair tied up tidily when doing lab work.
Students are required to wear PPE (goggles, gloves , lab coats and mask) when
handling corrosive or active chemical agents.
Hazardous chemical agents must be properly stored and labeled in a designated
place. Student must acquire and study the safety data sheet of a particular
chemical agent before using it.
