Call for IPSF European Regional Office (EuRO) Regional Working Group (RWG)

2016-17
IPSF is calling for interested individuals to run for positions in the IPSF EuRO RWG
2016-17.
The IPSF Regional Office is a functional extension of the IPSF Executive, structured
by elected and appointed pharmacy students and recent graduates from IPSF
member countries of a specific IPSF region, forming the Regional Working Group.
The mission of the RWG shall be to advance and support the aims and objectives of
the Federation at the regional level. If you are interested in a particular position listed
here, you should contact the relevant IPSF Regional Working Group member
(contacts below) before the deadline for applications in order to get acquainted with
the responsibilities you will handle. Please submit your nomination forms
to chairperson@euro.ipsf.org no later than Monday 1st of August 23:59 GMT+2 for
any role of the Regional Working Group you are applying for.
Below are the role descriptions of the positions.

Chairperson
As the Chairperson, you are responsible for:
Representing the Regional Office
Coordinating and overseeing the implementation of IPSF projects and
activities in the region
Ensuring sound financial standing and administration
Establishing further relations with student and professional organisations in
the region as instructed by the IPSF Executive
Oversee the organisation of regional events
Offering leadership and direction towards strategic goals.
You will be required to represent the IPSF Regional Office at all official functions and
to make any public announcements on behalf of the IPSF Regional Office.
Confidence and proficiency in oral and written English; presentation and
communication skills; effective time management and organisational skills are
important to the position.
One of the most important roles you play is in supporting your fellow Regional
Working Group members on projects, reviewing documents, publications and
content for projects, and giving feedback on various issues.

Hence, the ability to lead and work well in a team is vital to be innovative in solving
problems, ensuring projects follow timelines and action plans, and to implement new
projects and ideas. Previous experience in a leadership role is necessary.
To meet these responsibilities, you should be prepared to travel to attend local,
regional and international events. As Chairperson of the Regional Office you are also
an IPSF Executive Committee member and therefore will be expected to correspond
regularly with Executive Committee members. You should promote IPSF and your
Regional Office through all means; monitor progress on projects and activities; and
actively investigate and follow up on opportunities for strategic development.
This position is best suited to someone who is able to take a year off work or study
or perhaps undertake part-time commitments only so that you are able to commit at
least 15-20 hours a week to the position.
The Chairperson should be in a stable financial position where they are able to
attend regional events, Executive Committee meetings, member association and
pharmacy related events. As Chairperson of a Regional Office, it is a wonderful

Regional Relations Officer


The Regional Relations Officer (RRO) is responsible for maintaining communication
with IPSF Regional Member countries through their Contact Persons to ensure they
are satisfied with what IPSF and the Regional Office has to offer. In turn, the RRO
brings forth recommendations for improvement from members to the Regional
Working Group. A portion of this portfolio is dedicated to the promotion of IPSF and
the Regional Office to Non-Member countries, through mailings and updates, and
if possible, by doing promotional tours and attending other congresses. A continuous
nurturing of these contacts is essential for the growth of the Regional Office and by
extension, IPSF.
The RRO is also responsible for updating information lists of Contact Persons,
Student Exchange Officers, and Individual Members in the Region. It is
also important to focus on promoting IPSF and the Regional Office to current
members to maintain activity, strength and faith in the Regional Office and ultimately,
the Federation. Likewise, the RRO should aim to keep track of member events that
could be promoted on the EuRO Facebook Page in cooperation with the
associations.
During the mandate, cooperation and involvement in the IPSF Internal and External
portfolios is also expected. In the IPSF Internal Committee, the RRO is responsible
to undertake tasks according to the Chairperson with leadership capacity. Likewise,
the RRO should provide their ideas and plans on how to manage external relations
in the region and, together with CRC and the Chairperson of External, identify
potential sponsorship opportunities.

Assets that will be important for successfully meeting the expectations of this
position are excellent communication skills, good grasp of the English language,
extensive knowledge of IPSF and the Regional Office and how it operates,
motivation to travel and promote the Federation and its activities, and a contagious
exuberance for IPSF.
You should expect to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week for this position. All

Regional Projects Officer


As the Regional Projects Officer (RPO), you are responsible for coordinating the
implementation of IPSF projects at the Regional level. Thus, you will be required to
work closely with the relevant IPSF Committees and Chairpersons as a co-opted
member of the Public Health, Pharmacy Education and Professional Development
committees. For the RPO this means being involved in each of these committees
and helping with tasks whenever possible and/or necessary. You will not be
responsible for any projects in these committees unless it is not part of the Regional
Working Group wish.
The main job of the Regional Projects Officer is to focus on projects in the Region.
In doing so, the Regional Projects Officer will also be responsible for the promotion
of approved projects and to work very closely with the Regions RMPO to develop
appropriate promotional materials. Having a creative streak would be beneficial for
the Regional Projects Officer as the position requires extensive work with
publications and promotional materials.
The Regional Projects Officer will also be required to have some degree of
communication with member countries in the promotion and implementation of IPSF
projects at the national level. Because of the variety of projects that the Regional
Projects Officer may be involved with, and the many people that they have to
cooperate closely with, it is important for the Regional Projects Officer to have
impeccable communication, organisation, time management and team work skills.

Regional Media and Publications Officer


As the Regional Media and Publications Officer, you will be responsible for
developing publication materials and creating/updating the website for the Regional
Office. The main Regional Office publications are normally the newsletter and the
Regional Office Annual Report.

The responsibility of the RMPO is to take care of the content and the design of
current and new established official publications of the regional office according to
corporate identity and branding. It is also the RMPOs responsibility to ensure that
the website is maintained and continuously up to date. It is not necessary to know a
lot about website management since the selected website builder is quite user
friendly, but some basic knowledge is advisable. Besides that, the RMPO is also
responsible for creating new and imaginative ways of promoting the Regional Office
and its projects such as flyers, posters and booklets, depending on the plans for the
year.
New ideas and proposals are always welcome and highly encouraged. Common
skills requirements for this position include good knowledge of design (including
Adobe Master Suite skills, especially in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign),
strong communication skills, as well as creativity and passion. The RMPO should
have a working proficiency in English language, have constant access to some form
of stable internet connection, and be able to commit about 1-2h a day for the work.
The RMPO will work closely together with the other team members of EuRO and the
Chairperson of Media and Publications.
