Summary
This document explains how to reset factory iQsim products via USB Memory Device.
Requirements:
USB Memory 1Gb minimum
iSKey tool from iQsim for windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7
Product Firmware Binary Image delivered by iQsim or from your own backup
Quick Process
1- Plug your USB memory device in your windows PC
2- Run ISKey.exe and prepare your USB memory device
Follow the instructions
3- Copy the Binary Image to the USB Memory Device
4- Create AUTOFLASH.TXT file with proper Binary Image filename, and copy to the USB memory device
5- Switch OFF the iQsim Product, insert the USB memory device, switch ON the product
6- Follow the Reset Factory from the led and the sounds until end of operation (depend on product)

1. Prepare a USB memory device
Get the latest version of iSkey iQsim tool from http://suppotrt.iqsim.com download section

Warning
Be sure to get a good quality and tested USB memory device before starting the process
ISKey iQsim tool runs under windows from 2000 to 7.

Run the ISKEY.exe application, follow the instruction:

Insert USB memory device, then click YES.

ISKEY is being exctrated

After extraction completed, Select the USB Drive where you have inserted the USB memory device and click OK

extraction takes around 2mn

once completed, click EXIT

Installation is confirmed with following popup windows

the USB memory device is now ready

You have now a USB memory device ready for Reset Factory for any iQsim product.
It can handle multiple Binary Image and can be configured to use automatically any of the Binary image

2. Copy the firmwares to USB memory device

In order to use the USB device for Reset Factory, you need to copy any of the Binary Image provided by iQsim to the folder \iqsim
located on the USB device.

1- Open WINDOWS EXPLORER, select USB Device and enter folder \iqsim

Copy the Binary Image (in our example Sim Rack Image)

3. Configure the USB memory device for automatic Reset Factory

The USB device can be configured in order to make an automatic Reset Factory with one the Binary image present on the USB
device. It is convenient if the operation should be done by anyone present on site without technical skills.
The automatic Reset Factory is compatible with all equipment purchased at iQsim, should you need to Reset Factory other
equipment compatible with iQsim solution, you must be sure the equipment is able to boot on USB port as first device.
To proceed with automatic Reset Factory:
1- Create an empty file AUTOFLASH.txt
2- Write into AUTOFLASH.txt the EXACT filename of the Binary Image you wish to use for Reset Automatic
3- Copy AUTOFLASH.txt file to USB device folder \iqsim at the same location as the Binary Image to use
4- Switch OFF the iQsim equipment for Reset Factory
5- Insert the USB memory device in appropriate USB port on iQsim equipment
6- Switch ON the iQsim equipment and wait for Reset Factory to complete
the time for Reset Factory depends on equipment and is between 3mn to 8mn

4. Manual Reset Factory

It may be useful to Reset Factory manually iQsim equipment. In this case you will have to connect first via telnet to the equipment
in order to select the proper Binary Image.

The iQsim gateway should be switched off and the USB key plugged.
Connect via telnet COM port:
You can use any application such as Putty to connect to the iQsim device on the serial port. Enter the following settings
as presented in the figure hereafter:

Switch ON the iQsim equipment

The following window is then displayed. Select iQsim Firmware Update Manager

In the production menu, type 1 to initialize firmware:

The list of all iQsim binary image files is shown. Select the one you want to install on the gateway:
