Introduction
CONTROL

COMMS

POWER

Easergy T200 S is a range of autochangeover automation and telecontrol interface

dedicated to SM6 range of switchgears.
IM switchgear could be supplied with telecontrol interface limited to 2 feeders control.
NSM switchgears are supplied either with a network or a generator autochangeover
function.
Network NSM switchgears could accept a telecontrol option.

Description
Its main parts are:
b a rack gathering all electronic modules,
b a grid to support the transmission equipment (radio, external modem),
b a battery providing a backup power supply when the enclosure is no longer
powered by the AC supply,
b a connection part with:
v two 9 pins plugs for connection to the switch,
v two 4 pins plugs for the connection to the toroid sensors,
v a lever type fuse holder for the AC power supply,
v eventually, a terminal block to connect the emergency generator.
The rack contains three functional modules:

b The Control module (marked CONTROL)

The Control module comprises a control panel (front panel) and a Central Processing
Unit (CPU) card.
It manages the functions of 1 to 2 switches and controls local operation, with the
exception of communications. This module gets on the front plate the configuration
plug for automation and fault detectors.
b The Communication module (marked COMMS)
It controls all the communications with the remote control centre via the modem.
This module is not present in generator NSM switchgear, and it is optional in network
NSM switchgear. It is always present in telecontrolled IM switchgear.
b The Power supply module (marked POWER)
It supplies power to the enclosure, the battery charger and the associated
self-monitoring equipment.

b Connect the generator interface,
b Connect the 230 Vac main supply,
b Connect the battery,
b Power up the unit.

Connecting 230 Vca supply

d

b Switch off the supply circuit by moving the central lever on the safety fuse located
in the centre to the down position. It is not necessary to remove the fuse.
b Connect the main power cable AC supply (2 x 2.5 mm2 into the appropriate
cable gland and connect it using the shortest possible length of cable of the bottom
screw terminals on the safety fuse (phase on the right, neutral on the left).
b Check that the mains connector is correctly connected under the rack.

Main power terminal

Safety fuse

English

To prevent any risk of electric shock or burns, check that the mains
supply is disconnected before carrying out any work on the enclosure.

Neutral

Phase

IMPORTANT: the AC supply input is insulated at 10 kV with respect

to the enclosure earth. It is important to ensure that the cable and its use
outside and inside the enclosure do not damage this insulation.

Battery
d

IMPORTANT:

DE55061

b Use battery with a manufacturing date less than

3 months.
b Do not store over 6 months without reloading.
b Do not throw the batteries into bin.

The battery is of 12 V - 24 Ah type. It is housed in the lower left part of the enclosure.
It is held in position by a strap with tightening buckle.

d Note: the battery must only be connected to the enclosure when

the equipment is powered up.
b Connect the battery to the equipment by plugging the connector into the base
under the power supply module (the arrow on the connector must remain visible
during the connection).
b The connector is polarized. DO NOT FORCE IT INTO POSITION.

Switching on the AC supply

b Close the safety fuse inside the enclosure (see illustration opposite).

Normal use
When the operations described above have been performed, the normal power
supply to the equipment is resumed and the battery can be charged.
When all the tests have been completed, the Normal status is as follows
(on the front panel):
b On the Power supply module:
v the AC supply off and Battery fault indicators are off,
v the Rack 12 V present, and Ext. 12 V ext. present indicators are lit steadily,
v the 48 V present indicators is lit steadily (after a 20 s time delay),
v the fault indicators are off.
b On the control module:
v the Local/Remote switch is set to Remote mode,
v the indicator lamps reflect the indications, in particular the position of the cubicles.
b On the Communication module (if any):
v the ON indicator lamp is lit,
v the defect indicator lamp goes off quickly,
v the other communication indicator lamps remain off.

CONTROL

COMMS

In order to fully commission a T200 S the AC auxiliary supply and a lap top PC
are compulsory.

POWER

Easergy T200 S requires two configuration operations:

b CPU card configuration (date, fault detection, etc.),
Communication module configuration (communication parameters, alarms, etc.),
if it exist.

Configuration PC computer connection

A PC running Windows, a cable and the Easergy ConfiguratorCD-Rom
are required to configure the equipment.
Connect the PC end of the cable to computer serial port no. 1 (COM1) and
the Easergy T200 end to the connector on the front panel of the Control module
or the communication module.
When the PC is powered up, insert the Easergy Configurator CD-Rom in the drive,
install the software and click on the Easergy Configurator icon on the PC desktop.
The main menu of the corresponding card appears.

ON

In order to securise the local control orders, and avoid

unsollicited operation, it is compulsory to push simultaneously
on the control button of the feeder and the confirmation button.

Fault currents
On the Control module, a memorised fault current is shown by a red indicator lamp
included in each feeder block diagram.
b A Test pushbutton is used to trigger the simultaneous testing of the acquisition
systems and control panel indicator lamps. The corresponding indicator lamps
light up if the test is positive for as long as the pushbutton remains pressed,
then remain lit after the Test pushbutton is released.
b The Reset pushbutton is used to reset the memorised faults.

Other orders
The power supply reset could be done from the Power supply module:
b It initialises the Telecoms supply when this output has been cut off due
to overconsumption,
b It initialises the supply to the equipment after it has been switched off due
to an excessive drop in the 12 V supply.

Dated logging events (see Appendix B)

As a result of the monitoring operations performed by the equipment, dated logging
events used to track the various operating phases (operating mode, transmission
of orders to the MV switches, self-testing, and so on) are stored.
The storage capacity is 100 events; when the queue is saturated, the most recent
event erases the oldest one; a special Events loss is then inserted into the queue.
The events are dated by the equipments internal clock.
It can be set from the configuration PC, or from the remote control station
if this function is available.

The screen on the left represents the internal fault detection option of a 1-way
Easergy T200 S with one Current Acquisition card.
This menu is used to display:
b The switch status: open ( | ), closed ( ) and Locked,
b Stored fault currents: Phase fault and Earth fault,
b Current measurement on each MV way if this option is available,
b Voltage measurement (only if automation),
b The automatic control status
v enabled (E),
v disabled (H),
v locked (X),
b Equipment faults,
b Operating mode: Local or Distant
b AC supply OFF, Delayed AC supply OFF,
b Digital inputs status.
Note: the current information is highlighted.

Display events menu

The Display events menu is used to view the dated logging events stored
on the CPU card.
b When all the events have been displayed, the total number of events appears
on the End of xx events message line.
It is then possible to scroll through the list using the arrow keys.
b One hundred dated logging events can be logged.
When this number is exceeded, the first event in the list becomes an Events loss.
b Events can be erased by validating the Erase events field in the main menu.

Erase events menu

The Erase events field is used to erase the stored dated logging events.
When this field is validated, a confirmation is requested: Confirmation (Y/N).
Pressing the Y key permanently erases the dated logging events.
