SEMCO Designs EFI-USB V2 Interface setup

Interface Installation
1. Plug-in the EFI-USB interface, it will prompt to install new hardware, select No, not this time, press Next.
2. Select Install automatically, insert EFI-USB Interface Driver
CD in the CD/DVD drive, press Next.
3. Select Continue Anyway.
4. Repeat 1-3 for the second step of install.

How to find COM port # of EFI USB adapter.


Open DEVICE MANAGER to view COM port # .
The EFI-USB Interface will be shown as USB Serial Port (COM#)

XP
1. Click on Start and then Run.
2. Type the following command in the Open: text box, devmgmt.msc
and then hit the Enter key or click on the OK button.
3. Click the + box to expand the group Ports (COM & LPT).

VISTA
1. Click on the Windows Vista Start button.
2. Type the following command in the search box, devmgmt.msc
and then hit the Enter key.
3. Click the + box to expand the group Ports (COM & LPT).
4. Click the + box to expand the group Ports (COM & LPT).

WIN7
1. Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
2. Click on the System and Security link.
Note: If you're viewing the Large icons or Small icons view of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply click on Device Manager
and then proceed to Step 4.
3. In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager
link located under the System heading.
4. Click the + box to expand the group Ports (COM & LPT).

iBeat software 1.0-2.1 require Windows 32bit XP, Vista or WIN7. It will not run on 64bit.
Insert iBeat CD in PC or Laptop, auto-run should start install, if not open CD files, double click DiagnosticTool2.XX_English.exe follow prompts.
The iDT Operation manual is permanently installed in the Start, ALL Programs, iBeat folder menu.
When starting iBeat, it may give a Communication Port Cannot Be Opened message, click OK.
The COM Setup should open, if not click on the COM Setup icon or select from the Option dropdown
menu.
Select the COM # shown in Device Manager for the USB Serial Port (EFI Interface). See other side for details.
Plug EFI Interface into bike diagnostic connector located behind headlight.
Turn on ignition and kill switch.
Restart iBeat program.
iBeat should open with the upper right status indicator show On Line Mode.
If the bike is disconnect or turned off with iBeat is online, a communication stops message will appear, click
OK and the click on the upper right Off Line Mode.
If the EFI-USB Interface is plugged into a different port, the COM # may change, repeat steps 3 & 4.
2 LEDs on the EFI Interface will indicate USB & Bike power as well as flash when while sending data.
