Power IT Vacuum Switch PS25

The ABB solution for switching capacitors

on distribution systems

ABB introduces the PS25 Capacitor Switch.

The PS25 is a solid dielectric single-phase vacuum
switch suitable for use in distribution systems up
to 25kV ungrounded (and 43kV grounded). The
switch has been specifically designed and tested
in accordance with ANSI C37.66 for heavy-duty
operation in capacitor-switching applications for
the harshest climatic conditions.
The PS25 capacitor switch is designed to reduce
the life cycle cost and offer customers true value.

Range-taking Connection Clamp

#8 solid to 2/0 AWG stranded or up to 70mm2

Sleek - Compact Design

150kV BIL insulator offers high
creepage distances in relatively
small overall dimensions

Embedded Vacuum Interrupter

Unmatched protection from
external influences

Durable Insulator
Advanced hydrophobic cycloaliphatic resin
insulator has silicone-like water resistant properties

Mounting Flexibility
Insulator capable of 360 rotation
to ease connection and maintain clearances

Interchangeability
Mounting brackets suit interchangeability with
other brands

Long-life Metal Housing

Corrosion resistant zinc-coated steel tank with a
two stage painting process to provide additional
protection, RAL 7035 (ASA 70) light grey in colour

High Visibility
The yellow position indicator provides easy
identification of switch status.
It doubles as a manual hookstick
trip lever for isolation. All stainless
steel components

Protection for Outdoor Components

The trip lever and control cable connector have
protective weather covers

Environmentally-friendly
Free from gas, oil and foam insulating mediums
