Auto-Tune 5 RTAS OS X Notes

Thank you for purchasing or evaluating Auto-Tune 5 RTAS for Mac OS X. While
the Owner's Manual contains all the platform-independent information you'll
need to get the full benefit of Auto-Tune 5 (and we really encourage you to
read it), this file includes specific installation and use issues unique to the RTAS
OS X version.
INSTALLATION
The Auto-Tune 5 RTAS installer will automatically install the plug-in in the
correct location, and no reboot of the computer will be necessary.
AUTHORIZATION
Authorization is the process by which this software is allowed to run on your
computer. Detailed instructions covering the available authorization options will
be found in the file Authorization Read Me which is included on the installation
CD ROM or with your software download.
NOTE: When initially installed, this software will run for ten days without
authorization.
So even if you cant authorize it right away you can still use your software in
the meantime. (During this period, click the Continue button whenever you
are presented with the Trial Period screen at launch.) But dont procrastinate
too long. After those ten days are up, you will no longer be able to launch this
software until its authorized.

What's new in this version:

INCREASED MAXIMUM BUFFER
The maximum buffer size for tracking in Graphical Mode has been increased
from 999 seconds to 7200 seconds (i.e., 2 hours).
SET OPTION DEFAULTS (OS X 10.4 and later only)
We have added the ability to set specific values of the Options dialog
parameters as default settings for new instances of Auto-Tune 5.

Note: This function is only available if you are using OS X 10.4 or later.
To take advantage of this capability, you will need to set the various values in
the following text file:
User_home/Library/Application Support/Antares/Auto-Tune RTAS_TDM.txt
Open this file with any application capable of reading text files and change the
left-hand value in each line to the desired value. (Don't modify anything else especially anything in parentheses.)
IMPROVED CURVE/LINE SELECTION
The ease with which near-vertical pitch correction lines and curves can be
selected for editing has been improved.
BYPASS "CLEAR ALL" WARNING
In Graphical Mode, the Clear All function warning dialog can be bypassed by
pressing the Shift key while clicking the Clear All button.
SCROLL WHEEL SUPPORT
If your mouse includes a scroll wheel, it is now recognized in Graphical Mode.
PLUG-IN VERSION NUMBER
The plug-in version number now appears in the lower left-hand corner of the
Options dialog window.
FASTER INSTANTIATION
Auto-Tune 5 will now instantiate faster.
=====================
PLUG-IN USE
Auto-Tune 5 can be used as a real-time RTAS plug-in or from the AudioSuite
menu.
HIERARCHICAL MENUS
With Pro Tools's hierarchical plug-in menus, Auto-Tune 5 will be found in the

category "Pitch Shift."

GRAPHICAL MODE SYNC
In order to take advantage of Auto-Tune 5's Graphical Mode Sync capability,
you must be using Pro Tools HD 7.2 or Pro Tools LE 7.3 or later.
AUTO-SCROLLING IN GRAPHICAL MODE
Auto-Tune 5 versions 5.06 and later feature the addition of a control to enable
and disable auto-scrolling when the host transport is running in Graphical Mode.
Click the Auto Scroll button to toggle the state. The button will turn blue to
indicate auto-scrolling is active and will turn gray to indicate that it is inactive.
Pressing the "0" (zero) key above the QWERTY section of your keyboard will
also toggle auto-scrolling. The color of the Auto Scroll button will change to
reflect the current state.
CUSTOM CURSORS IN AUDIOSUITE
Due to a bug in Pro Tools (as of the date of this document - 12/06), the
custom Graphical Mode cursors do not display properly when using AudioSuite.
This is solely a cosmetic problem, as the editing tools do behave properly.
Digidesign has stated that they will be addressing this bug in a future version of
Pro Tools. In the meantime, if you find the problem annoying, you can turn off
the custom cursors in the Options dialog.
CONSTRAIN TO VERTICAL
The default behavior of the Arrow Tool when moving correction curves has been
changed from what is described in the manual. Specifically, such movements are
normally constrained to the vertical axis (i.e., in pitch only). To freely move the
curve in both directions (i.e. both horizontal and vertical), press the Option key on
your keyboard and then click on and move the curve.
LOOPING WHEN USED AS AN INSERT
When Auto-Tune is used as a real-time insert in Graphical Mode, it is not able to
detect when a segment of audio has looped when using Options->Loop
Playback. Consequently, you should not enable Loop Playback. Specifically, when
correcting a segment, do not play the segment in Loop Playback mode. If
desired, stop playback at the end of the segment, relocate to the start of the
segment and play again. Note that Loop Playback is handled correctly in

AudioSuite mode.
EDIT SCALE DISPLAY DURING LEARN SCALE FROM MIDI
In describing the Learn Scale From MIDI function, the manual states, "As each
note is played, the corresponding Remove button in the Edit Scale Display is
turned off." This is correct only if Octave is set to "All." If Octave is set to "As
Played," the Remove buttons in the Edit Scale Display are not affected.
MODIFIER KEYS
The following modifier keys are active in Auto-Tune 5 in Pro Tools:
Shift - Toggles Snap-To-Note state in Graphical Mode. Toggles Momentary state
in Automatic Mode.
Option - Allows free movement of correction curves in Graphical Mode
Delete - Deletes the most recent line segment when using the Line Tool
1 - 7 - Graphical Mode tool selection (QWERTY keys only)
0 - Toggles Auto Scrolling in Graphical Mode (QWERTY key only)
Pro Tools does not make the Command (Apple) key available to Auto-Tune, so
the various Command key combinations are not available.
