Tothefullextentpermittedbylaw,VFSexpresslyexcludesallconditions,warrantiesandliability,whetherimposedorimpliedbystatuteor

Totheextentpermittedbylaw,yoursolerecourseforanydefectof,damageto,orperformancestandardoftheproductwillbeunderthe

Totheextentbylawthatanylimitationorexclusioncannotapply,thetotalliabilityofVFSinrelationtotheproductislimitedto:
(i)inthecaseofservices,thecostofhavingtheservicessuppliedagainor
(ii)inthecaseofgoods,thelowestcostofreplacingthegoods,acquiringequivalentgoodsorhavingthegoodsrepaired.
Totheextentpermittedbylaw,VFShasnoliabilitywithrespecttodamagetoorarisingoutof,ortheconditionorperformanceof,the
productresultingfrom(i)negligenceorimproperuse,storage,installation,configurationcommission,servicemaintenanceorhandlingof
theproduct(where'improper'includestreatmentotherthaninaccordancewiththeproductmanual,thesetermsandconditionsorthe
informationprovidedatatrainingsession)(ii)accident,unforeseeablecircumstancesordisaster(iii)modificationstotheproductother
thaninaccordancewithVFS'sinstructions(iv)attachmentoforinteroperationwithfeatures,softwareorproductsnotapprovedbyVFSin
writingor(v)wheretheproducthasbeenservicedbypersonsnotauthorizedbyVFSinwritingtoservicetheproduct.
ProductWarrantyConditions
VFSInternationalPtyLtd(VFS)warrantsthatnewproducts(excludingconsumableitems)willconformtoitspublishedspecificationsand
remainingoodworkingorderduringthewarrantyperiodof24(twentyfour)monthsfromthedateaninvoiceisissuedbyVFStoits
distributor.
VFSalsowarrantsthatproductsservicedorrepairedbyitsservicedepartmentwillremainingoodworkingorderforawarrantyperiodof
12 (twelve)monthsfromthedateofservice.Thisserviceorrepairwarrantyisonlyavailableonproductslessthan7(seven)yearsoldand
onlycoversthosecomponentpartsoftheproductsserviced,repairedorreplaced.
Shouldproductunderwarrantynotbeingoodworkingorder,VFSwill,atitsoption,eitherrepairorreplacetheproductoritscomponent
partsatnoadditionalcharge.
Sparepartsandreplacementproduct,coveredunderthiswarranty,willbefurnishedonanexchangebasisandwill,attheoptionofVFS
eitherbenew,equivalenttoneworreconditioned.ReturnedpartsandproductstoVFSbecomethepropertyofVFS.
Thiswarrantydoesnotcovertherepairordamagetotheproductresultingfromorarisingoutof(i)negligenceorimproperusestorage,
installation,configuration,commission,service,maintenanceorhandlingoftheproduct(where'improper'includestreatmentotherthanin
accordancewithanymanualorinstructionsforuseoftheproduct)(ii)accident,unforeseeablecircumstancesordisaster(iii)

Overview
TheVESDALaserFOCUSsmokedetectorcontinuouslymonitorsitsownoperationandconducts
frequenthealthchecks.Therearetwoserviceableitems,theairfiltercartridgeandtheaspirator.
Caution:
Electrostaticdischargeprecautionsneedtobetakenpriortoremovingthefront
coverfromthedetectorotherwisedamagemayoccurtothedetector.

Filterreplacement
TheVESDALaserFOCUSsmokedetectorusesadisposabledualstageairfiltercartridge.This
filterremovesdustcontaminationfromsampledairandprovidesacleanairbleedtopreservethe
detectorchamberoptics.Thedetectorconstantlymonitorsfilterefficiency.Tomaintainthe
operationalintegrityofthesmokedetector,itisrecommendedthatthefilterbereplacedevery
2years,orwhenafilterfaultoccursormoreoftenforenvironmentsthatexperiencehighlevelsof
contamination.
Afaultisraisedonthedetector,whenthefilterneedstobereplaced.Duringthereplacement
processthedetectorneedstobeinformedthatanewfilterhasbeeninstalled.

Undotherecessedretainingscrew(C)andpullouttheoldfilter(B).
Usingyourfinger,firmlypressthefilterswitch(D)(inthefilterrecessofthedetector)5times
within5secondstoconfirmtothedetectorthatanewfilterisabouttobeinstalled(see
inset).ALEDnexttotheserialinterfacewillflasheachtimeyoupushthefilterswitch,and
willcontinueflashingonceyouhavesuccessfullypressedtheswitch5timesin5seconds.
Insertthenewfilter(VSP005)andtightentheretainingscrew.
PresstheDisablebuttonfor6secondstoreturnthedetectortonormaloperation.
Recordthefilterreplacementdateonthefilter.
