Computer Hardware Engineering

Computer Engineers continually push the capability and applicability
of computers in every industry and every facet of modern life. Computer
engineers put computers in other machines and systems. They also build
networks to transfer data and develop ways to make computers run better.
They also make them smaller and more capable. Some computer engineers
are trying to start to incorporate computers into clothing. Computer
engineers are focused with analyzing and solving computer problems, like
hardware and software malfunctions. CPEs understand both the hardware
and software of computers. Sometimes when a computer problem may take
changing both the hardware and the software the engineer may just change
the computer itself, sometimes this is just more efficient. Sometimes it is
more efficient in both money and time to just change the software than the
hardware. It is better for the engineers to be able to know the software and
the hardware because they will know if changing something will be
compatible. I will be building many different computer parts like CPUs,
GPUs, and motherboards just to name a few. Another couple things that will
be don on the daily are developing drivers, operating systems, and
applications.

Computer engineers usually worked in research labs that build and test
computer models,

high-tech manufacturing.

Computer

engineers held 77,700 jobs in 2014. Most of these jobs were computer
system design and related services, computer and peripheral equipment
manufacturing,

The

potential/expected growth in the next four years is 3%. This is slower than
average for all occupations. I would be applying for a job like this in around
2024, because I would like to take four or more years of college, the
projected job numbers in 2024 is 80,100 jobs. An increase in hardware
startup firms and the ongoing increase in devices with computer chips
embedded in them, such as household appliances, medical devices, and
automobiles, may lead to some job growth for computer hardware
engineers.
The entry level education to become a computer engineer, is a
bachelors degree in computer engineering. Because the computer engineers
will be working with software a lot, the person will need to be familiar with
computer programming.

The skills need when getting a computer

engineering job will be analytical skills, creativity, critical-thinking skills,

problem-solving skills, and speaking skills. This is because computer
engineers will deal with programming and will need to analyze digital circus.
They will also need to design new hardware, use logic and reasoning to

identify strengths and weakness of alternative solutions to problems. The last

things that a computer engineer will need to do are to identify complex
problems and work in teams to get things done and have multiple points of
view on a task. Some more things that hardware engineers will need to bring
to the table are having a background in Linux, UNIX, C, C++, JavaScript,
GLSL, and many other software types. The ability to read and analyze code is
almost mandatory. The engineer will need to have knowledge in real-time
programming, multithreading, multi-processing, and many more.
The current salary ranges are, $108,490 to $177,650. The average pay
of all engineers is $111,730 a year. Some computer hardware engineers can
advance to become computer and informational system managers. Some of
the top computer engineering employers are Intel, Cybernet Manufacturing,
and SEKAR Engineering. SEKAR Engineering will have employers working in
Denver Colorado. There is about 20 to 25 open jobs in engineering right now.
Cybernet Manufacturing is located in Irvine California. The type of work that
will be done there is making PC hardware design, and AIO systems.

The

place that people will be working at Intel is Santa Clara, California. The type

Major employer field is Google. This career takes place in Santa Clara, CA.
The things that will take place on the daily are, as an experienced hardware
engineer at a leading global chipmaker, you will research, design, develop,
and test advanced computer systems and components, processors, circuit
boards, memory devices, networks, and routers.
I will be ready for one of these positions in about 2024, because I want
to take at least 4 years of college after high school. This will shoot me up in
the ladder of positions in this field. If I take four or more years of college, I
will be able to study and learn things in the career faster and easier than if I
dont, so it will only benefit me. Some other things that I could do are taking
a computer class, or a coding class that will help me learn how the software
in computers works, and that will help me get a higher position in my career.
One of the schools I would like to go to is Harvard, because it is right next to
google. Then I can get an internship, then start to work for them. My second
choice of school would be MIT. The things that go on at MIT in computer
engineering are building circuits, studding computer science (systems,
Artificial Intelligences, and theory). If I could not go to Harvard or MIT then I
would like to go to the University of Washington in Seattle. This is because
this school shows students how to build Intel processors, motors, and
programming with different types of software.
The things that I can do in high school that will benefit me will be
staying in CAD/Engineering and also taking a computer class to learn more
about the parts in computers, and how they work. I can also do research at

home on software so that if I cant get into hardware engineering I can fall
back into software engineering. Hardware engineers are making new things
possible every day testing the boundaries of newer hardware. They are
trying to make the processors able to handle the new thing that people are
trying to do today and in the future.
