whomitsaidhavebeenperpetratingmaliciousliesaboutArchbishopAnthonyApuronandtheCatholic
Church.Italsoplanstobringthecasethroughthechurchsowncourtsystem.
ThearchdiocesesstatementcomesontheheelsofthelatestallegationagainstthehighestCatholicleaderin
Guam.

DorisY.Concepcion,ofPrescott,Arizona,recentlytoldPacificDailyNewsherdeceasedson,whenhewas
servingasanaltarboy,wasmolestedbyApuronwhenthelatterwastheparishpriestatMountCarmelChurch

inAgatinthelate1970s.
Concepcionsaidherson,JosephA.Quinata,revealedhissecretshortlybeforehedied11yearsago.
AnothermaliciousandcalumniousaccusationagainsttheArchbishophassurfacedthistimefromthemotherofamanwhohasbeendeceasedfor
elevenyears.TheArchbishopstronglydeniesthisaccusationashehaddonesobefore,theArchdioceseofAganasaidinastatementsentbyFather
EdivaldodaSilvaOliveiraonTuesdayafternoon.

TheArchdioceseofAganasaidthefierceattacksagainstthearchbishopexplodedthreeyearsagowhenheremovedtheadministrationoftheCathedral
Basilica,theMuseumandtheCatholicCemeteriesofGuamforreasonsoffinancialmismanagement.
Thistimearound,thearchdiocesesstatementhasnamedatleastonespecificpersonandhisassociates.
TimRohrandhisassociateslaunchedaviciousandcalumniousattackontheArchbishopandtheChurch,theArchdioceseofAganasaid.They
demandedthattheArchbishopreturntotheformerwaysoffinancialadministration,whenthearchdiocesewasincreasingdebtseveryyearbecauseof
mismanagement.TheywantedtoselltheseminaryinYonatocoverthesubstantialdebtaccumulatedbythepreviousadministrationofthesethree
entities.TheArchbishopwasadamantlyopposedtotheideaofsellingtheseminarytocoverthesedebts.Thusbeganamaliciouscampaigntodenounce
andattacktheArchbishopatwhatevercosttogethimoutoftheway.

thattheArchdioceseisplanning,hopingthateverythingwillberevealedincourt.

RohrsaidFatherEdivaldodaSilvaOliveiraoftheArchdiocesedidntevenbothertoputaspecificnameofwhoistakinglegalactionwhenthey
managedtospecificallynamehimasamongthosetheyaccuse.
RohralsopointedoutthathehimselfdidnotknowDorisConcepcion,orRoyQuintanilla,themanwhocameforwardafewweeksagotosaythathewas
molestedbyApuronwhenhewasanaltarboyinthe1970s.
Hesaidwiththewaythingsare,othersmaycomeforwardtosaythattheyortheirlovedoneswerealsoabusedbyApuronorotherpriests.
TheArchdiocese,inastatement,saidtheperpetratorsofthesecalumnieshaveresortedtoinsultsandviolencerevealingtheirtrueintentiontodestroy
theCatholicChurchanddiscredittheArchbishopbywhatevermeans.
Theirmethodistoconfuseandmisleadthefaithful,eventothepointofinducingsometobringfalsetestimony.Thiswaspredictedevenbeforethefirst
accusationwasrevealed.

outragedandharassed.Therefore,theArchdioceseofAganaisintheprocessoftakingcanonicalandlegalmeasuresagainstthoseperpetratingthese
maliciouslies,theArchdiocesesaid.
ArchbishopAnthonyurgesthefaithfulnottobeafraid,andtostandforthetruthandheasksforyourprayers,itadded.
