Ruth Loeppky
Director, Child & Family Services
777 Portage Ave
Winnipeg, MB

Dear Ms. Loeppky:

The intent of this letter is to reach a successful and speedy resolution to the conflict my client is
having with your organization.
On January the 2nd my client purchased a child abuse registry check which is required for his
employment. The results were picked up on the 21st and my client promptly noticed that the
check was completed for Brydon James Matthew instead of the correct James Matthew
Brydon. Upon contacting Family Services looking for an amicable solution to the issue, your
employee Samantha Alamilla became belligerent and hostile, and refused to cooperate in
anyway whatsoever to remedy the problem. My client quite reasonably requested that a
corrected version be carried out. Your employee refused to accept responsibility for the issue
and demanded that my client pay another $15 for another check. We have computer, credit
card, and phone records that clearly prove my client has no responsibility whatsoever for the
misprinted paperwork.
Please be advised that if Mr. Brydon is forced to file a civil action in this matter, his claim will be
substantially greater.
There are several ways in which this matter can be resolved, including the following:
1. Civil Litigation. Litigation will be time consuming, extremely expensive for both parties
and could result in adverse publicity. Note, of course, that the complaint filed in this
matter will be a public document, and the press could show great interest in the facts of
this case, especially considering my client is an injured military veteran being victimized
by the government.
2. Discussion. The least expensive way to resolve this dispute is if you or your office
contact my client via his telephone at (204) 209-0589 and seek an amicable resolution.
Our experience is that if both parties are reasonable and act in good faith, they can
settle matters such as these.
Our demands are as follows:

Provide a corrected version of the registry check to my client as soon as possible

Issue an apology to my client for your employee's behavior

Take disciplinary action against said employee

If my client is not contacted by the close of business on Thursday, January 28, and given verbal
or e-mail confirmation that these reasonable demands have not been met we will initiate legal
action to the fullest extent of the law. My client's phone number is (204) 209-0589, and his email
is JamesBrydon1@gmail.com in case you did not already have it on file.
This letter is written solely for the purpose of furthering settlement discussions. Therefore, your
immediate review of this matter is requested. We look forward to your reply.

Sincerely
