Introduction
Welcome to weldassistant.
PRO Edition
BASIC Edition
Thank you for using the user-friendly standard software weldassistant.
The following is a list of pertinent applications which are available in the corresponding Edition.
This manual describes all applications of the weldassistant.

The weldassistant is able to utilize plugins from well-known manufacturers of various welding products with the
corresponding data and product information.
Plugins are available to all users of BASIC and PROFESSIONAL.
The plugins are maintained by the manufacturers, thus ensuring that up-to-date information on the products is
always to be found in weldassistant .

The optimized process dependant input structure makes weldassistant a self-explanatory, user friendly system for
saving the user time and money. You compile a professional code conform WPS according EN and ASME IX quickly,
and to the highest quality. Fundamental data, such as the most important parent materials and welding fillers are
contained in weldassistant.
You select the parent material and weldassistant offers a choice of filler material if available.
Data is available for most welding parameters. Copying of welding diagrams and the passes within a welding
procedure specification simplifies and optimizes the creation of the welding plan.
In WPQR / PQR Administration you retain an overview of the ranges of approval of your process certifications
independent to the code. The current status of the process certifications is immediately recognizable at a glance due
to the "traffic light" functions. The allocation of several areas of validity to one process certification makes the
administration very flexible. Adjust your 10 different print layouts based on your requirements.
Through the welding cost calculation you are given an overview of the costs of the planned welding. By comparing
several welding processes or welding tasks next to each other, cost comparisons can be made quickly and
transparently.
With the welder qualifications - administration facility, you have a permanent overview of the welders and their
certifications with the comfort of an optimized input structure. The current status of the welder qualifications is
immediately recognizable at a glance by means of the "traffic light" function.
Welder qualification is the foundation of good welding. The corresponding welder certification can be created quickly
and easily and is linked with the welder qualification administration.
Plug-ins
Well-known manufacturers make their product data or advanced information available which you can select and use
in weldassistant.
You will find a list of available plugins on the hsk-welding solutions homepage.
www.weldassistant.com
What is a plugin?
Software manufacturers define interfaces for their products with the help of which third parties can program
extensions (plugins) for these software products. So the plugin enhances the functionality of this software product.
Plugins as a rule are not capable of functioning without the application for which they were written.

A welding procedure specification is made up of header data e.g. (WPS no., WPQR (PQR) no., customer and order
details), the general welding parameters (parent materials, seam geometry, welding position,...), the weld seam
sketch, welding sequence as well as the various passes together with their welding parameters.
The conclusion generates a possible heat treatment for the weld seam. Many of these parameters appear only in
conjunction with the respective welding process or current type.
The WPS can be viewed in the print preview at any time.

The process certifications administration serves as a quick overview of the applicable test data, ranges of approval,
validity and required extensions of welding process certifications.
The principal advantage of this administration is that it can define an unlimited number of ranges of approval.
Thus one can detail the complete range of approval to the extent that an applicable process certification for a
welding application can be found quickly.
