Adventisms Emergence

"When we reach the standard that the Lord would have us reach,
worldlings will regard Seventh-day Adventists as odd, singular, straightlaced extremists. "We are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels,
and to men." ~ RH, January 9, 1894

My message to you is: No longer consent to

listen without protest to the perversion of truth.
Unmask the pretentious sophistries which, if
received, will lead ministers and physicians and
medical missionary workers to ignore the truth.
Every one is now to stand on his guard. God calls
upon men and women to take their stand under
the blood-stained banner of Prince Emmanuel. I
have been instructed to warn our people; for many
are in danger of receiving theories and sophistries
that undermine the foundation pillars of the faith.
1SM p. 196

Today there are coming into educational institutions

and into the churches everywhere spiritualistic
teachings that undermine faith in God and in His
word.... [B]ut however beautifully clothed, this theory
is a most dangerous deception.... The result of
accepting it is separation from God (Ministry of !
Healing, p. 428). !

I also want to give a word

of precaution. In the silent
contemplation of God we
are entering deeply into the
spiritual realm, and there is
such a thing as
supernatural guidance that
is not divine guidance.
While the Bible does not
give us a lot of information
on the nature of the
spiritual world, we do
know there are various
orders of spiritual beings,
and some of them are
definitely not in cooperation
with God and his way!
But for now I want to
encourage you to learn and
practice prayers of
protection All dark and
evil spirits must now leave.

The Christian faith is mysterious

to the core. It is about things and
beings that ultimately cant be put
into words. Language fails. And if
we do definitively put God into
words, we have at that very
moment made God something
God is not.

"He [Bell]described breath as a form of prayer and

urged people to relax and "breathe out" all of their
anger and stress from the past week."
David Crumm, Getting To The Root Of Religion

Take one hand, place it upon your belly. Take one

hand, place it upon your chest... [long breath]. Lets
breath for a moment, shall we? Nice big deep
breaths ... Central to the Christian tradition for
thousands of years have been disciplines of
meditation, reflection, silence and breathing ... Now
from way back when, our ancestors understood
that theres something divine about our breath.
Take a moment, as you breath deeply to invite the
God who made the universe into your breath.

The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just
before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums,
music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to
make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of
Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling,
sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music than to use musical
instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp
meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise
shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic
agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working.
{2SM 36}
...last January the Lord showed me that erroneous theories and methods would be brought into our camp
meetings, and that the history of the past would be repeated. I felt greatly distressed. I was instructed to say
that at these demonstrations demons in the form of men are present, working with all the ingenuity that Satan
can employ to make the truth disgusting to sensible people; that the enemy was trying to arrange matters so
that the camp meetings, which have been the means of bringing the truth of the third angel's message before
multitudes, should lose their force and influence. {2SM 37}

Leonard states... Mysticism, once cast to the sidelines

of the Christian tradition, is now situated in
postmodernist culture near the center. In the words of
one of the greatest theologians of the twentieth century,
Jesuit philosopher of religion/dogmatist Karl Rahner,
The Christian of tomorrow will be a mystic, one who
has experienced something, or he will be
nothing. [Mysticism] is metaphysics arrived at through
mindbody experiences. Mysticism begins in
experience; it ends in theology. [from p. 160, A Time of
Departing, quoting Sweet from Quantum Spirituality, p. 76

in his book,Quantum Spirituality

"Energy-fire experiences take us into ourselves only that we might reach outside of
ourselves. Metanoia is a de-centering experience of connected-ness and community.
It is not an exercise in reciting what Jesus has done for me lately. Energy-fire ecstasy,
more a buzz than a binge, takes us out of ourselves, literally. That is the meaning of
the word 'ecstatic.'" Quantum Spirituality, P. 93
"A surprisingly central feature of all the world's religions is the language of light in
communicating the divine and symbolizing the union of the human with the divine:
Muhammad's light-filled cave, Moses' burning bush, Paul's blinding light, Fox's "inner
light," Krishna's Lord of Light, Bohme's light-filled cobbler shop, Plotinus' fire
experiences, Bodhisattvas with the flow of Kundalini's fire erupting from their
fontanelles, and so on."
P. 235

SoulTsunami: Sink or Swim in New Millennium Culture (his endorsement is on the

in the past.

In his book Quantum Spirituality: Under the topic of Sevening (On the seventh day
[God] rested and drew breath.) he gives some 10 deep breathing exercises. 1. Get in
touch with your lungs by closing your eyes. Visualize in your mind a tennis court
8.Hold your Bible and breathe meditatively. The breathtaking, nay, breathgiving truth
of aliveness is more than Methuselean in its span: Part of your body right now was
once actually, literally part of the body of Abraham, Sarah, Noah, Esther, David,
Abigail, Moses, Ruth, Matthew, Mary, Like, Martha, John, Priscilla, Paul... and Jesus.
9. Keep breathing quietly while holding your Bible. You have within you not just the
powers of goodness resident in the great spiritual leaders like Moses, Jesus,
Muhammed, Lao Tzu You also have within you the forces of evil and destruction.
Resident in each breath you take is the body of angels like Joan of Arc and devils like
Gilles de Rais, Genghis Khan, Judas Iscariot, Herod, Hitler, Stalin and all the other
destructive spirits throughout history (Quantum Spirituality p.300-301)

It all goes back to the source of Alice Bailey, who said, The great theme of the new
world religion will be the recognition of, the many divine approaches and the
continuity of revelation which each of them conveyed.

I learned about this way of having a

born-again experience from reading
Catholic mystics, especially The
Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola.
Ignatius, a founder of the Jesuit
order, was once a soldier and it was
only when he spent a long time in a
hospital bed recovering from a battle
wound that his heart and mind
focused on God. Like most Catholic
mystics he developed an intense
desire to experience a oneness with
God. Gradually, he came to feel an
intense yearning for the kind of
spiritual purity that he believed would
enable him to experience the fullness
of Gods presence within. pg. 30
After the Reformation, we
Protestants left behind much that was
troubling about Roman Catholicism of
the fifteenth century. I am convinced
we left too much behind. The
methods of praying employed by the
likes of Ignatius have become
precious to me. With the help of
some Catholic saints, my prayer life
has deepened. pg. 31

Letters To A Young Evangelical

Adventist pastor

Henri Nouwen (1932-1996) was a Dutch-born Jesuit priest a campaigner for

social justice. Henri Nouwen is known as the Wounded Healer, turning his
own wounds and sadness into compassion and care for others. Henry was a
writer who authored 40 books on the spiritual life. Nouwen struggled with his
sexuality. Although his sexuality was known by those close to him, he never
publicly claimed a homosexual identity." Although he never directly addressed
the matter of his sexuality in the writings he published during his lifetime, he
acknowledged the struggle both in his private journals and in discussions with
friends, both of which were extensively referenced by Michael Ford in the
biography Wounded Prophet, which!
was published after Nouwen's death.

Henri Nouwen was strongly influenced by Thomas

Merton and because of this is seen by some as
one of the founders of the Emerging Church. He
had visions of Jesus and Mary, but also of
Ramakrishna and the Dalai Lama. Although he
found contact with God very important, Henri
Nouwen always struggled, in his own words, with
redemption by faith.

The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great
reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that
this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as
the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. . .The
principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant
church would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The
fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty
years would be accounted as error. A new organization would be
established. Books of a new order would be written. A system of
intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system
would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath, of course,
would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would
be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement. ~ SM vol. 1, pg. 204

If God has any new light to communicate, He will let

His chosen and beloved understand it, without their
going to have their minds enlightened by hearing those
who are in darkness and error. ~ EW 124
Speaking in reference to Daniel chapter 11, Ellen White stated, Much of the
history that has taken place in fulfillment of this prophecy will be repeated. Then
she said the following: In the thirtieth verse a power is spoken of that shall be
grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he
do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy
covenant. ~ 13 MR 393.5

The prophecy in Daniel 11, predicts that he, The King of the North
(Papal Rome) would have intelligence with those who have forsaken
the holy covenant. It should be pointed out that those that have
forsaken the holy covenant must refer to people who, at one time, were
in a covenant relationship with God, but then turned from it. It goes on
to say that the King of the North has intelligence with them. This
word means to cunningly observe, choose and separate out in order to
instruct. The word suggests secret observation, manipulation, and
instruction in order to conquer. It is interesting to note that this unique
word that Daniel chose is used only this one time in the entire Bible.

How the Roman church can clear herself from the charge of idolatry we
cannot see... And this is the religion which Protestants are beginning to
look upon with so much favor, and which will eventually be united with
Protestantism. This union will not, however, be effected by a change in
Catholicism, for Rome never changes. She claims infallibility. It is
Protestantism that will change. The adoption of liberal ideas on its part will
bring it where it can clasp the hand of Catholicism.
-RH June 1, 1886 (LDE pg. 130)
!

When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such
points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the
state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then
Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy,
and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result...
-GC pg. 445

The substitution of the laws of men for the law of God, the
exaltation, by merely human authority, of Sunday in place of the
Bible Sabbath, is the last act in the drama.
-Test. vol. 7 pg. 141 (LDE pg. 135, 136

God's workmen must not follow after the world's practices and
customs in the least. Any course that the minister shall pursue
that will lead the people to look to him and depend upon him, is
not after the working of the Holy Spirit. The pure word of God
alone must be preached to the people in clear lines, and its
convincing, controlling power on heart and life will alone
transform the character and save the soul. "The word of the
Lord endureth forever." "The entrance of Thy words giveth light;
it giveth understanding unto the simple."
{Bible Echo, May 21, 1894 par. 4}

God has called His church in this day, as He called ancient Israel, to
stand as a light in the earth. By the mighty cleaver of truth, the messages
of the first, second, and third angels, He has separated them from the
churches and from the world to bring them into a sacred nearness to
Himself. He has made them the depositaries of His law and has committed to
them the great truths of prophecy for this time. Like the holy oracles
committed to ancient Israel, these are a sacred trust to be communicated
to the world. The three angels of Revelation 14 represent the people who
accept the light of God's messages and go forth as His agents to sound the
warning throughout the length and breadth of the earth. 5T 456

The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a

great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and
that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand
as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization.
Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of
truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church would be
discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles
that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as
error. A new organization would be established. Books of a new order
would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced.
The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful
work. The Sabbath, of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God
who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new
movement. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but God
being removed, they would place their dependence on human power,
which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the
sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure. Who has
authority to begin such a movement? We have our Bibles. We have our
experience, attested to by the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit. We
have a truth that admits of no compromise.
~ 1 Selected Messages pg. 204

"Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them:
'When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take
a man from their territory and make him their watchman,
'when he
sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and
warns the people, 'then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and
does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his
blood shall be on his own head. 'He heard the sound of the trumpet,
but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who
takes warning will save his life. 'But if the watchman sees the sword
coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not
warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among
them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at
the watchman's hand.' " So you, son of man: I have made you a
watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word
from My mouth and warn them for Me. "When I say to the wicked, 'O
wicked man, you shall surely die!' and you do not speak to warn the
wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood I will require at your hand. "Nevertheless if you warn the wicked
to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die
in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
~Ezekiel 33:2-9

Christians should be preparing for what is soon to

break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise,
and this preparation they should make by diligently
studying the word of God and striving to conform
their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of
eternity demand of us something besides an
imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms,
where truth is kept in the outer court. . . .

If the saints of the Old Testament bore so bright a
testimony of loyalty, should not those upon whom is
shining the accumulated light of centuries, bear a still
more signal witness to the power of truth?
~ Our Father Cares, pg. 190

Please prayerfully consider what you have just read and seen. We especially need to
pray for our leadership and kindly ask them to address these issues. We can no
longer be silent.... we cannot continue to ignore what is happening, turning a blind eye.
We need to wake up!!!

Hopefully you understand more fully now why, when Ellen White spoke about the
omega said she, trembled for our people.
