INTERESTED IN THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DISCOURSE AFFORDED BY THE

EXPRESSIONS OF ART AND ARCHITECTURE, I SEEK TO ESTABLISH AN INTERNATIONAL DIALOGUE WITH WHICH
TO EXPLORE THE CAPACITIES OF SUCH
EXPRESSIONS. RECENT WORK IS GOVERNED BY A CALCULATED AND METHODICAL EXECUTION, CONSIDERATION OF THE URBAN FABRIC, AND A
SENSITIVITY TO THE LESS ILLUMINATED
QUALITIES OF URBANITY.
IN ADDITION, I CAN CONTRIBUTE EXPERIENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL DESIGN,
STRUCTURAL INSTALLATION, AND PROJECT MARKETING/ADMINISTRATION.

To apply skills from both previous work experiences and

the academic setting into more valuable cooperative
employment, as well as further explore new skills in a
more practical work environment. The opportunity to take
a placement at a professional practice is an invaluable
resource through the process of architectural studies. It
informs both immediate application of practical lessons
and future development of idea/execution.

to the question of oasis; a passive place of

stereotypes associated with urban art and
the artists who produce it. Presented as a
schedule of programme, occupancy and

the project was developed to establish an
understanding of residential architecture

An exercise to challenge design considerations focused on material capacity

alone. The graceful stallactite-like form
is achieved with 500 bio-degradeable
take-out packages, altered only slightly
to produce a structural system. Accomplished without any means of mechanical
or adhesive fastenings, the project was a

great success, meeting all of the project

ambitions and sructural merit.

The project is the most recent academic

project to date, currently unfinished. An
exercise in understanding a larger urban
context, and the implications of massing and programmatic adjacences at all
levels on a site. At the corner of College St.
and Spadina Ave. in Toronto, Canada the
proposed programme will include; retail;

public gallery of urban art; restaurant and

bar; adjacent performance space; SRO
residential units, monastic artist cells; MSF
dedicated offices; 6000m2 leaseable
open-plan office space. To accomodate the
diversity of programme, the project seeks
to negotiate podium and tower, efficiency
and sterility.
