SITE VISIT
1.0 Introduction
The site is located at Taman Rimba Templers Park, Rawang. A site visit to
the proposed site was organized by Taleem (M) Sdn Bhd on 29th of July and
10th of August, with all consultant to the mentioned site. The aim of this site visit
is to get some idea how is the site condition and to evaluate the existing building.
DRSA Consulting Sdn Bhd (DRSA) was appointed as a civil and structural
consultant to carry-out an inspection, maintenance and design of this
development.
This report is about our finding during the site visit, some proposal and some key
point for this development
2.0 Project Information
The site is located at the abandon PLKN camp, there is already some
infrastructure there such as water supply and sewerage system, road and
drainage. Generally, the system is still in good condition.
Please note that we dont have any drawing related such as the as built drawing
or the survey drawing. Hence, we cannot evaluate the design until complete
details are given to us.
The project is divided by three phase. The phase one is consist of the following
block:1)2 Block of classroom
2)Canteen
3)Prayer room
4)Block Perubatan
5)Pool

3.0 STRUCTURE
Steel Bridge

Figure 1
To enter the site, we need to across the small river by using this steel
bridge. As we can see, the steel bridge is stil safe to use. However, the wood
condition is already very bad.

Figure
The close up view of wood condition show how bad it is.

2 Block of classroom
Generally, there is no critical damage to this building except for the roof beam at
the water tank above the toilet
The other problem that we identified is the floor slab looks like expanding.

Block A

Fig show that the ceiling is badly damage, we afraid that some of the beam
supported the water tank has been stolen
4

Block B

Block Perubatan
5

As we can see, this building is badly damage in our view. We afraid that there is
settlement at the backside of this buiding.

fig show that there is crack at the apron and the brickwall

The building is located near the slope

Canteen

Prayer room
7

No sign of structural failure

Suction Room
8

Picture show the condition of suction room. This building is in the good
condition, but most of the equipment is missing

INFRASTURCTURE

Water Supply
As we concerned, there is no CCC for this buidling, so

Sewerage System

10

There is already existing sewerage system at the proposed site location. The
cover of manhole is missing/stolen

Road and drainage

4.0 General Recommendation

1. We need to have proper access to enter our site either during construction or
after it
2. Coring need to be done if there is major renovation on the existing building to
know the strength of concrete for that particular building.
3. The building should not constructed near the slope
4. The manhole and drainage should be closed for the safety reason
5. We propose the use of lightweight for the roof truss
6. we need to construct the STP if required

6.8 Other Comments (General)

Rebar maximum spacing is in order and acceptable

Rebar/structure detailing is in accordance with standard and sound

engineering practice and in order.

Connections, hook and bend are also following standard practice.

7.0 Conclusion
The building. Checks were done on own basis. Based on our check, mainly
carried-out with simple hand estimation it is found that the fundamental concept
for structural stability as well as ultimate and serviceability limits are acceptable
and in order, except for some comments as highlighted in the drawings attached.
To summarize these, most of the structural designs satisfy both ultimate and
serviceability.
Please note again, this report only cover for the drawing received earlier. Volume
2 Report only can be prepared later once the remaining drawing is completely
forward to us.
