Technical Campus Hiring 2016-2017

TCS should be the first company to visit the campus for recruiting from the 2016-17 batch of students.
Registration: All candidates appearing for the TCS recruitment process on campus are required to register on NextStep- the
Campus Portal and get their unique campus reference ID (CT Reference ID).
Online Application Form: All candidates appearing for the TCS recruitment process have to fill in the Online Application Form
on NextStep. Candidates should be instructed to mandatorily carry: (i) A color print copy of the duly filled in TCS Application
Form having a clear/legible photograph, (ii) CV and (iii) Mark sheets for all academic courses, on the day of the campus drive for
verification purpose.

Eligibility Criteria
Marks:
Consistent academic records of a minimum aggregate/average (aggregate of all subjects in all semesters) marks of 60% or
above in the first attempt in each of Class Xth, XIIth, Equivalent Diploma (if applicable) and graduation (if candidate is post
graduate)
All subjects mentioned on the mark sheets should be taken into consideration for calculating the aggregate marks. For example,
best of 5/6 subjects for calculating the aggregate is not acceptable as per the TCS Eligibility Criteria. All subjects mentioned on
the mark sheets (including languages, optional subjects etc) should be taken into consideration for calculating obtained/total
marks/CGPA.
If the marks are in CGPA or any format other than percentage for the highest qualification, the college should share the
conversion formula on the Institute letterhead signed by the Head of Institute
In cases where a candidate has completed both- XIIth and Equivalent Diploma, the cut off percentage of 60% and above is
applicable to both the courses.
First attempt implies that the candidate should clear the final year/semester examination (Xth, XIIth, Equivalent Diploma,
Graduation and Post-Graduation as applicable) with minimum aggregate (aggregate of all subjects in all semesters) marks of
60% and above within the normal duration of the course itself.
For example, if a candidate has secured 56 % (aggregate of all subjects) in Standard XIIth examination in the first attempt and
has taken an improvement exam in the next attempt securing 62%, he/she does not fulfill the TCS eligibility criteria as
marks/CGPA obtained during the normal duration of the course only will be considered. A candidate taking up any
improvement exam even if the first attempt was above 60% would not be eligible since this would be more than the normal
duration of the course (Stipulated time).
If the marks for any of the lower qualifications- Xth, XIIth, Equivalent Diploma, Graduation (for PG students) - are in any format
other than percentage (for e.g.: CGPA, Grading System), it is important to validate the conversion formula.
Candidates should be instructed to carry all relevant marksheets (Standard Xth, XIIth, Equivalent Diploma, UG and PG as
applicable) at the time of the TCS selection process for the purpose of verification.

Backlog:
Maximum of 1 pending backlog in the highest qualification only can be permitted at the time of appearing for the TCS
selection process. It should be clearly communicated to the candidates that, if selected, their offer/appointment is subject to
them having no pending backlog/s at the time of joining TCS and completion of their course within the normal duration.
A backlog in the final semester is extended education and does not meet the TCS eligibility criteria. Any other semester pending
backlog should be cleared within the normal course duration only.
Break in Studies:
Maximum up to 24 months break in education/work experience till date only for valid reasons and the reason for break should
not be extended education. It is mandatory for the candidates to declare the gaps/arrears/backlogs, if any, during their
academics and work experience in the TCS Application form.

Work Experience:
A candidate with more than 3 years of work experience would not be eligible to participate in the TCS Selection process.

Course Duration:
The TCS offer/appointment is subject to completion of all courses Class Xth onwards within the stipulated time as specified by
the University/Institute and as per the TCS Selection Guidelines, without any extended education.
For example, if a candidate has a backlog in the final semester of BE, it is considered as extended education as the stipulated
time/ normal course duration to complete BE is 4 years and he/she would take more than the stipulated time to complete the
course
Stipulated time implies the normal course duration as specified below:
For Post Graduation
M.Tech, ME and MSc. duration restricted to 2 years
MCA duration restricted to 3 years
For Graduation
B.Tech and BE duration restricted to 4 Years
BCA duration restricted to 3 years
BSc and BIT duration restricted to 3 years
For Twelfth
Duration restricted to 1 year
For Equivalent Diploma
Duration restricted to 3 years
For Tenth
Duration restricted to 1 year

Age Criteria:
A candidate should meet the below specified age criteria at the time of being put through the TCS selection process:
Minimum age-18 years
Maximum age-28 years

Previous Unsuccessful Attempt:

Candidates who have applied to TCS and who have not been successful in clearing the TCS Selection process are not eligible to
re-apply to TCS within six months from the date on which the candidate had attended such selection test and/or interview.

TCS Online TestAll candidates being put through the TCS Selection process need to be administered the online aptitude test- TouchStone.
The TouchStone Test has two sections- Verbal Ability and Analytical Ability. Verbal Ability Section has one question and the
Analytical Ability Section has 30 questions. The total test duration is 90 minutes- Verbal Ability Section for 10 minutes and

Analytical Ability Section for 80 minutes. It is required to obtain the minimum defined cut off in each section, to clear the
TouchStone Test.
All candidates taking the test should have completed the TCS Registration and Application form in our Next step portal without
which they will be unable to access TouchStone portal.
