In order to pursue its course to


success, every organization has to
conduct projects that are new,
complex and unique from the projects
of its competitors. To manage projects
effectively and to complete projects
successfully, it is essential to have
people who are fully conversant with
the latest techniques and technologies
of Project Management. Analyzing the
importance of Project Managers in the
country, Bahria University has decided
to introduce MS Degree in Project
Management (MSPM) program as a
department of Management Sciences
from Spring-2013. The purpose is to
impart
professional
project
management knowledge and skills to
the students and make them capable
of managing all kind of projects in their
respective organizations and future
endeavors.
While there are a few universities and
business schools in the country that are
already engaged in this program, almost
all of them focus tightly in classroom
studies. Bahria University takes extra
efforts to improve the communication
skills that are necessary for a project
manager to manage his team. It is also a

landmark of Bahria University that it


exposes its students to the live projects
that gives them the first hand information
and comprehend theory with practice.
This program is designed for fresh
graduates, professionals and practitioners
who either work or plan to work in project
oriented environment. This is why it has
been made a weekend program. This
degree prepares students to apply
acquired professional knowledge and
technical skills to manage projects of all
kind.

Road Map
The MS Degree in Project Management is
a 33-credit hour program. The 33-credit
hour program takes place in three
semesters and completes in a year and a
half. It has two modules. Module-1 is
subject based while module-2 has a

research component in it. Both the


modules are designed as per the
instructions of HEC. First two semesters in
both modules are common. The break-up
is as under:

Facilities
Classes are conducted in the class rooms
that have air conditioning and heating
facilities. Computer labs provide research
engines that can assist is thesis writing.
Three cafeterias provide hygienic food &
fresh juices. State-of-the art Gym provides
playing
facilities
and
exercising
paraphernalia. Hostel facilities are
available for female students within the
campus. Powerful university electricity
generator provides a sound backup during
load shedding / power outage. Bahria
University also provides job facilities to its
students. To do that, two offices are
established to maintain a liaison between
the students and the corporate world.
Two job fares are conducted yearly where
many companies set up their stalls in the
campus and conduct interviews for
suitable jobs.
