aid you in securing an internship! The internships listed below are just a sampling of what is available. For

PAID INTERNSHIPS
 Hollywood Arts Council - Project Coordinator ($8/hr)
Project Coordinator will plan and implement all components of the 25th Annual Children’s Festival
of The Arts to be held August 8th at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood. Festival includes six art
workshops and six performing groups, community information booths with approximately 3,000+
attendees. A challenging opportunity with maximum potential to learn marketable real life skills. The
main qualifications for this position are confidence, strong people skills and a willingness to learn.
Good organization skills and some special event experience helpful. Excellent computer skills are a
must. Although office is easily accessible by public transportation, having access to a car is

 Luxe List LLC – Web Development Intern (2 Openings, $10/hr)
Luxe List Home is the premier online rental residential lifestyle resource. We are an independent
online resource dedicated to evaluating, identifying, and distinguishing the finest apartments in
America’s best cities. In addition to recognizing the highest rated apartments in America’s best cities,
LuxeListHome.com features additional luxury properties, including unique single family homes,
condominiums, fractional ownerships and seasonal rentals Intern will assist in further development
and expansion of Company website and conversion to database backend and possible content
management system for easy updating. Intern will work with company executives to coordinate and
support existing and new clients' membership, listing, and advertising content, and provide
maintenance services for company's website which is a referral source for luxury rentals and related
goods and services. Must possess creative and technical web development, management and related
computer skills. Candidates should be able to take direction. demonstrate initiative and be able to
work independently to complete tasks. Graphic Design capabilities a plus! Availability M-F, 30-40

 UBS Securities Japan – 2010 Summer Interns


We are very pleased to announce that Japan Equities Research division has decided to hire a few
summer interns who will be able to work for them for 10 weeks from mid-June till mid-August.
Applicant must be Undergrads who will graduate from overseas universities in 2011; Overseas MBAs
and Postgraduates, class of 2011. Japanese Language skills: Native. English language skills: Business
fluent. Degrees: Bachelor, Master and Ph.d. MBA candidates. Accounting/Finance/Economics major

 Port of Los Angeles – Student Engineer ($16-18/hr)


The position will assist Construction & Maintenance staff in the development of as-built schematics
and drawings of High Voltage equipment, container crane trenches, and Alternative Maritime Power
(AMP) systems. The position will also assist staff in the development of policies and procedures for
the power/depowering of trenches and other terminal equipment. Interns may work fulltime during
the summer session. Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering. Must have
attained Senior status to qualify. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Email a cover letter and resume

 Fiji Water – Commercial Finance Intern ($15-20/hr)


FIJI® Water, natural artesian water bottled at the source in Viti Levu (Fiji islands), is the number one

product of one of the last virgin ecosystems on the planet, FIJI Water is forced by natural pressure out
of its aquifer deep below the earth’s surface and into iconic square bottles through a sealed delivery
system free of human contact. The company is committed to sustainable development and is the
primary driver of economic development and social welfare in Fiji. FIJI Water reinvests substantial
resources to expand access to clean, safe drinking water and to provide quality education and health
care for the people in Fiji. This is a part-time paid internship during our regular office hours which
are Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm. Students must be willing to work at least 20 hours a week and
will need to be in the office at least 3 days per week. Efficiently compile, organize, and analyze sales-
related finance information and raw data in order to provide accurate, real-time financial information.
Summarizes this information and presents it to the finance team and/or senior management as needed.

 City of Torrance – Audit Intern II (2 Openings, $16.09/hr)


Interns work on a wide variety of projects, gaining skills in auditing, research and data analysis. They
will also develop interpersonal and computer skills that will carry forward to any career.
Audits include: Utility User's Tax; Sales Tax; Uniform Occupancy Tax; Waste Haulers; Internal
Audits. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred. Work hours are flexible, 20+ hours per week is
preferred. Internship duration is 6-12 months. Apply for this position through connectSC, JobID

 Los Angeles County Arts Commission – Summer Internship Program ($3500 stipend)
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program (which
provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, literary, and municipal arts organizations)
as a companion program to the Getty Multicultural Internship Program (which provides internships to
museums and visual arts organizations). The purpose of the County's program is to provide
undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience in working in nonprofit
arts organizations, while assisting arts organizations to develop future arts leaders. This program is a
10 week paid summer internship (40 hours/week) for 125 full-time undergraduate college students.
Students are paid $350/week to work with a nonprofit arts organization within Los Angeles County.
Nonprofits include various performing, presenting, and literary arts organizations, and local agencies.
Interns also participate in several educational events. Undergraduates and graduating seniors may
apply. Students must have completed at least one semester of college by June 2010, and be currently
enrolled (full-time) in a community college or a four year university. Graduating seniors are eligible
only if they are to complete their undergraduate degree by September 1st, 2010. Students must
either reside in Los Angeles County or attend school in Los Angeles County. Candidates are
welcome from all areas of undergraduate study and are not required to have demonstrated a previous
commitment to the arts. A number of the 125 internship postings are currently posted on connectSC.

PAID INTERNSHIPS vs. SCHOOL CREDIT: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
