1.

Stick to AVERAGE of a “study” (must be a continous data)

2. 3 things:
• power point of results for presentation,
• short paper of what you did & process & what you figure out, (summarize everything in PP
• excel (email or hard copy)
must show everything that study in class EX: data, then describe

Math 243 Final Project 50

points

Your final project is a statistical summary and an inference based on your findings using a data
set of your interest. You will present these findings in both a written presentation and in an oral
presentation to your classmates.

You will
-- Describe the sampling reliability and display your data (Chapters 1 & 4)

--Analyze your sample using methods learned in chapters 2, 6 and 7.

What analysis can you look at?? GRAPH. Outliers, sample mean, sample deviation, quartiles,
proportion of things fall in standard deviation, bell shape, what you found from the picture &
conclusion from the paper study
--Predict a parameter of importance using chapter 8.

Calculate confidence interval & explain how confident you are on your answers.

CONCLUSION:
What did u learn, what you like, was it surprising with end results.

You may use either of your original data sets from Labs, add more data to either set and/or
choose a new data set for this presentation.

You will
--write a 1 or 2 page paper for your instructor,
--develop a presentation for your fellow students (on Powerpoint), and
--turn in a computation page ( in Excel) with your paper.

Help with statistics, writing and using technology are available:

Your instructor can help you with statistics, Excel and Powerpoint. You have office hours,
appointment time and some class/lab time to get help from your instructor. See her sooner, not
later!

Tutors can help you on statistics and Excel. See them ASAP too.

If you cannot write at the college level, get help at RCC's Writing and Tutoring Centers. Ask
tutors, fellow students and other resource people for help in writing.

Do not plagiarize. I will check for plagiarism. You will fail the course if you plagiarize.
