Introduction
A transformer is an electrical device
that transfers ac energy from one
electrical circuit to another by
magnetic coupling but without any
moving parts.
Its action is based on the laws of
electromagnetic induction.
There is no electrical connection between
primary and secondary (except for one
case).
There is no change in frequency.

much simplified.
