REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2013-237
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ROUTE OF OTON (DERECHO)
PUBLIC UTILITY JEEPNEYS (PUJ's) IN THE CITY OF ILOILO

Councilors Jason R. Gonzales, David Raymund C. Jamora, ely A
Estante, Jr. Lyndon V. Acap and Rodel F. Agado
WHEREAS, the City Council of Iloilo passed Regulation Ordinance No. 2012-127, "An
Ordinance Temporarily Extending the Route of Oton Jeepneys for a Period of Six (6) Months
from March 26, 2012 to September 26, 2012" and Regulation Ordinance No. 2012-401, "An
Ordinance Temporarily Extending the Duration of the Temporary Route of Oton Jeepneysfor
Two (2) Months from September 27, 2012 to November 26, 2012";

WHEREAS, based on the experiment, it is determined that the drivers of Oton Derecho
have complied with the above-stated ordinances;

WHEREAS, in light of the sentiments of the riding public, there is a need to fix the route
of Oton jeepneys.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of
Iloilo:
Section 1. - That Oton jeepneys with sign route Oton Derecho be allowed to ply the
route, as follows:

"Mohon Street passing Osmena Street to Avancena Street, right to

Lopez Jaena Street, M.H. del Pilar Street passing Bureau of Internal Revenue,
make a U-turn at the Iloilo City College at San Pedro Street and San Marcos
Street, right to Locsin Street passing Iloilo Superman towards Tabucan, right to
San Rafael (Don Nonato Pison Avenue) passing Ateneo de Iloilo, right to
Benigno Aquino Avenue passing Smallville Complex, Honda Cars Iloilo up to
Joey's Pepperoni, right to M.H. del Pilar Street passing Hotel del Rio, San
Marcos Street passing Plaza Molo, Avancena Street back to the Municipality of
Oton";
Section 2. - That the said Oton Derecho jeepneys are allowed to drop off and pick up
passengers along the way but are not allowed to wait passengers in any area of the Don Nonato
Pison Avenue and Benigno Aquino Highway;
Section 3. - That the said Oton Derecho jeepneys shall not for an unreasonable period of
time, or more than two (2) minutes, stay at any portion of the Don Nonato Pison Avenue and
Benigno Aquino Highway;
Section 4. - That the said jeepneys in heading towards Tabucan, Mandurriao shall display
on their windshield a sign that they are heading towards Tabucan, Mandurriao instead of Oton;
Section 5. - That all jeepneys concerned shall faithfully comply with all the existing
traffic rules in the City of Iloilo;
Section 6. -That any jeepney violating this ordinance shall be penalized, as follows:
On the First Offense
On the Second Offense
On the Third Offense &
Subsequent Offenses

- Fine of P 500.00
- Fine of P 1,000.00
- Fine of P 2,000.00

Section 7. - That this ordinance shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a
newspaper of general circulation.
