Environmental Statement:

Thermowood is sourced from sustainable PEFC forests and is

backed by a chain of custody. Timber acts to sequester carbon,
mitigate erosion and has low embodied energy compared with
other building materials.
Venturer believes in procuring products as finished as possible.
Venturer sources its Thermowood from Finland, where the
product is milled, treated, and finished with oil before dispatching
to SE Asia.

Ideal for the Tropics

Introduction:

Cladding:

In our tropical climate, durability is a key concern. Several years ago,

we successfully introduced pressure treated softwood for decking
under structure. To date, this has proven to be a durable and cost
effective solution, with no reported failures or degradation. Thermotreated wood is a evolution of that success that -without the use of
chemicals- combines heat and steam process to modify timber at a
cellular level.

SLP Warmclad
Decay and weather resistance are important characteristics for a
cladding board. WarmCladTM is an excellent choice for exterior
cladding. Its decay resistance class is I and its usable life is many
times greater than that of untreated wood. WarmClads moisture
content is half that of normal wood and surface splitting caused by
UV-radiation will be less than with normal wood.

Venturer, together with its partners, has created custom profiles to

suit the Singapore market, that confidently carry our 10 years
installation warranty.
Thermowood is a trade name for a number of products that are
manufactured in Finland with thermally modified timber. The
Thermowood process was invented in Finland by a fireman who
noticed that wood exposed to high temperatures altered its properties
making it more in common with hardwood than softwood.
The most commonly available species is thermo-spruce (pinus abies)
which is sourced within 100km radius from the treatment facility
and is unique in terms of it being slow growing (60 years). The tight
growth rings and thermowood process together make for an
exceptionally high quality product.

Appearance:
Thermowood has a smooth honey-brown colour similar to Cedar or
Teak. It machines smooth and adopts a silver patina with long term
exposure to sunlight. Made from Nordic spruce, the grain patterns are
visually appealing with a tighter grain than faster growing varieties.

SLP VivaxColor
VivaxColorTM is a factory applied quality coating to WarmcladTM
products. It features all the good characteristics provided by
thermal treatment: it has excellent characteristics for decay
resistance, weather resistance and thermal insulation.
For the user VivaxColorTM is an easy and worry-free product: it is
ready for immediate installation. Thermowoood offers a 30 year
warranty against decay as well as a 10 year colour fast warranty
for the paint surface, applicable to our climate.
Standard colours are available, however, RAL colours are available by order.
(Refer to colour chart on the right).

Durability:
Thermowood is permanently modified into a nearly inert material.
While being "toasted" the organic compounds that serve as food for
bacteria and insects is drastically reduced resulting in increased
durability against fungal and termite attack.

Tested EN 350-1 (Very durable), backed by 10 years installer

warranty.

Comfort:
Thermowood is an extremely poor conductor of heat making it
much cooler to the touch than Hardwood and Wood Plastic
Composite, a great plus on our hot tropical climate.

EN 350-1 DURABILITY TEST (SERVICE CLASS I - VERY DURABLE)

Thermowood is visually sorted to grade out loose knots and

defects according to guidelines of the International Thermowood
Association. Generally each piece will include characteristic solid
knots which do not compromise the boards integrity, but add visual
interest.
