ABC TILE ADHESIVE is a cement-based adhesive

designed for bonding polished and unpolished homogenous
and ceramic wall and floor tiles, as well as marble, granite
and natural stone on concrete surfaces. Only the highest
quality portland cement, natural sand fillers and chemical
additives are used. ABC TILE ADHESIVE uses the thinbed
method for a faster, professional and lasting tile installation.

SURFACE PREPARATION
The substrate must be fully cured, structurally stable and
level, smooth, clean and free from dirt, effloresence, dust,
loose material, oil, chemicals and other contaminants. Acid
etch or abrade surface to ensure proper bonding.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1 Mixing: Into a plastic or metal pail containing clean
tap water, pour a sufficient amount of ABC TILE
ADHESIVE that can be used within the POT LIFE of
4 hours. Pot life is the time during which the mixed
tile adhesive can be applied while sitting in a nonabsorptive container. CAUTION: Use only plastic
pail or galvanized iron sheet as mixing base. Never
use absorbent material such as plywood, wooden
box, gypsum board or card board as it will change
the consistency of the mix. 25 kg of ABC TILE
ADHESIVE needs approximately 8L of water. Stir with
a mixing device or by hand. Let mixture rest for
15 minutes and restir just before applying.
NOTE: During hot and windy conditions, wet substrate
lightly before applying tile adhesive.
2 Application: Spread ABC Tile Adhesive mortar evenly
over 1 m2 area at a time using a notched trowel.

Special Applications: For tile installations over nonconcrete surfaces, such as existing ceramic tiles,
gypsum boards, fiber cement boards, granolithic floors,
marble, granite or wood, use ABC TILE ADHESIVE in
combination with ABC Redifix or ABC TILE ADHESIVE
HEAVY-DUTY.
3 Installation: Fix tiles immediately within the Open Time
of 20 minutes. Carry out random checks to determine
whether the back of the tile is fully covered with adhesive.

Open Time:
Open time is the period when the mortars adhesive strength
is most effective. Adjust and align accordingly within the
adhesives open time only (picture 1).
Finger Check:
To ensure that

open time has not
lapsed, check if the
tile adhesive mortar
still adheres to
your finger in order
to avoid bonding
failure (picture 2).
If open time has
lapsed, remove
the applied
adhesive layer and
t h r o w a w a y.
CAUTION: DO NOT add a newly prepared batch of
ABC Tile Adhesive to a previously mixed batch.
Cleaning:
If excess mortar adheres on the tile face, remove with
clean water.
COVERAGE & PACKAGING
Depending on substrate conditions, tile size and application
thickness, 25 kg of ABC TILE ADHESIVE will cover approx.
5m2 (using 30 x 30cm tile). Available in 5kg and 25kg.
CLEANING & SAFETY
Remove excess mortar on tools using clean water.
Non- toxic. However, as with any cementitious material,
avoid prolonged skin contact.
STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
Store in a cool dry place. When stored as directed, ABC
TILE ADHESIVE will remain usable for a period of one
year from date of manufacture.

Due to the variety of applications, the differing methods of working, the
various properties of bases, etc., we cannot assume responsibility or
liability with regard to the application of our products. Our guarantee and
liability are restricted to the quality of our products at the time of acceptance
of the customer of such products. In no case shall our liability extend
beyond replacement of defective products, if any, found at the time of
