Samhain
HALLOWEEN
Pamona
Souin
This is a book
about a sacred day; a holiday that is anxiously waited for ever year, a day
that has tempted children and adults with its pleasure and entertainment.
We at Light For Darkness Ministries knows this well, if you read our last
book, The Witch God Loves, then you know that we have first-hand
experience and knowledge about the religion of Wicca and Witchcraft and
from whence they came.
Halloween isn't just a fun holiday it is a sacred day; "Samhain (Summer's
End) is one of four Greater Sabbats, the highest holy day of witches
(White Goddess, 2015, paragraph 3)." After my own conversion to
Christianity my stomach has turned every time a church or Christian
organization takes part in this festival of death because I know what they
are celebrating and more importantly WHO they are celebrating and
inadvertently worshipping.
and the islands of Sicily, just as it does in England (Grimassi, 1997 &
2000, pg 6). Around six hundred and five hundred B.C, the Celts
(Celtics) took over England and met the cult of the dead, at first the Celts
were afraid of the cult of the dead, but what scared them the most about
the cult of the dead were the spirits of the dead, which were called Sidhe.
In England this word Sidhe means fairies. From the invasion of the Celts,
the cult of the dead was left with one surviving priesthood; this priesthood
called themselves the Druids. The Celts, ironically enough, held their
ceremonies to the gods of the Cult of the Dead, now Druids, in sanctuaries
that were located in forests under the guidance of the Druids, the name
Druid literally means knowing the Oak tree or finding the oak tree and is
linked with worshipping in the woods, a practice that happens to this day
(Grimassi, 1997 & 2000).
Now as to give you a clear picture of what is going on here I will explain
in more laymens terms; the Celtics (Celts) which were a pagan group of
people in Ireland who migrated to England where they met the cult of the
dead, another pagan group of people. Even though the Celts initially
fought and won the Cult of the dead the beliefs and the spirits (Sidhe) that
the cult of the dead worshipped still became intermingled with the Celts
belief, in fact they became the leading spirits worshipped within the Celts
because after winning the war the Cult of the Dead's remaining priesthood
called themselves the Druids and became the spiritual leaders and guides
of the Celts. So, the Celts would become even more immersed in the
beliefs of the Cult of the dead (now, Druids). Now the spirits that the Cult
of the dead worshiped is central to the holiday Halloween and this is why;
eventually the Celts had to become farmers, while they primarily lived
and/or worked in the forest they were hunters, but later they became
farmers; when the hunter-gatherer, forest dwelling humans began to
emerge into agricultural society they brought with them the ancient deity
forms of the wilderness (thus the beliefs in the Druids spirits expanded).
Before going on further into history I would like to visit the spirits
mentioned, the Sidhe. While this is ancient culture, people, and practices
the Sidhe have survived and have made it into 21st Century and they are
wildly popular; did you happen to catch the part of the Sidhe being the
name for fairies? Fairies have been in fantasy shows and books, they have
become beloved by little girls and children everywhere; if a book or movie
has magic anywhere in it then usually there will be a fairy somewhere.
Sometimes they fly about or are just seen here or there in the background,
many times they are secondary characters, and other times they are more
dominant. Fairies are especially popular among girls and the Tinkerbell
series that began in 2008. The form of fairies is just as varied; sometimes
they are cute and cuddly, sometimes they are mean and nasty little
creatures, sometimes they are aloof and hidden, but many times they are
beautiful creatures that perform various arts in magic in the shadows of the
earth. They are often depicted as wise little creatures many times their
work is unknown but important as it happens behind the scenes or behind
people. They are depicted as guardians at times who protect and shield
people. It may seem like innocent fantasy, but is it?
As we have learned the fairies came from the Sidhe and are DEAD spirits
that acted as spiritual guides for the ancient pagans, but not just the ancient
pagans; fairies are still the spiritual guides for the pagan/Wiccan religions
practioners TODAY:
"Therefore it is that today Ireland contains two races, a
race visible which we call Celts and a race invisible which
we call fairies. Between these two races there is a constant
intercourse even now; for Irish seers say that they can
behold the majestic, beautiful Sidhe, and according to them
the Sidhe are a race quite distinct from our own, just living
and possibly more powerful. These Sidhe (who are 'gentry'
of the Ben Bulbin country and have kindred elsewhere in
Ireland, Scotland, and probably in most other countries as
well, such as the invisible races of the Yosemite Valley)
have been described more or less accurately by our peasant
seer witnesses from County Sligo and from North and East
Ireland but there are others and probably more reliable
seers in Ireland, men of greater education and greater
psychical experience, who know and describe the Sidhe
races as they really are, and even sketch their likenesses.
And to such seer Celts as these, Death is a passport to
the world of the Sidhe, a world where there is joy, as we
shall learn when we study it as the Celtic Otherworld
(the Recorded Fairy Faith, Section II, pgs 284-285)."
As is evident from the excerpt above fairies have been and still are
worshipped as gods and what is more disturbing is the fact that many
Christian children grow up under the fairy gods influence through the
avenues of television, movies, and books more so then they grow up under
the influences of Jesus through the Bible. If nothing else as a Christian
parent, realize that when your children are watching fairies they are
watching dead spirits, they are being shown another religion that is to this
day practiced, worshipped, and celebrated by Wiccans and other pagan
religions. Let us look at some of the main elements of the fairy originally
known as the Sidhe which means dead spirits, they are often in the
background unnoticed in the same way Wiccan and pagans believe that
these fairies/spirits control certain elements of the earth, they are depicted
as guardians, these spirits are believed to be guardians over certain parts of
the earth and sometimes humans, they are said to live in a world that is
EVER YOUTHFUL and full of joy, sound familiar? In Peter Pan doesn't
he live in Neverland where children never grow up? Where Tinkerbell, his
fairy is his companion? She watches out for him, protects him, has power,
and a nasty side; she tries to get rid of Wendy, yet later is willing to give
her own life for Peter which redeems her character in the minds of the
children, but what has gone unnoticed is how much of the true fairy faith
is depicted in the story and how influential the character, Tinkerbell has
become over generations of girls and women.
"The stage horned god of the forest transformed into the goat horned god
of the pasture. This was due in large part to the necessity of domesticating
animals within agricultural society. The god of the forest then becomes the
god of the harvest (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000, pg 8)." Now the former
hunters, and now farmers soon found that winter was a dangerous time of
the year because the survival of the Celts and remaining Druids (Cult of
the dead) depended on the whims of Nature (Swimmer, 1997). Whatever
the people harvested during the fall would be all they would have through
winter. So the Celts would ask the Druid Priest to pray for them a number
of times on the last day of harvest through the first day of winter. On the
night of the last day of harvest the Celts believed, because of the teachings
of the Druids, that the boundary between the living and spirits of the dead
were so thin that dead souls could roam freely between the realm of the
dead and living (Swimmer, 1997). The night was so important that they
called it Souin Galen for November, which was for transition from South
to West, the Celts and Druids believed that the time between dusk and
dawn on the last day of harvest was very magical (Swimmer, 1997). The
things that happened on these hours between dusk and dawn on the last
night of the harvest were things that could not happen at any other time,
10
according to the Celts and Druids (Swimmer, 1997). One of these magical
things happened to be particularly gruesome in nature.
The pagans began a much darker way of celebrating that has haunted
Halloween and has remained an integral part ever since. The Druid priests
had an inspired idea that people needed to be cleansed after they died. The
soul of the deceased was transferred by magic to the body of an animal.
During the night of October thirty first, the enchanted souls were freed by
the Druid god, Samhain, and taken together into the Druid heaven. This
Druid festival was always accompanied by animal and sometimes human
sacrifice and linked with all kinds of magic (Koch, 1980). Thus, October
thirty first was officially a holiday, called Samhain and November first
was Souin.
11
Souin night wasnt just about the dead; the Celts believed that the gods
controlled the sun and the shortening of days was from the awesome
power of those gods, so, they built bonfires in honor of those gods and
would pray for the suns return (Swimmer, 1997). Thus you have the
reasons why Halloween dcor includes so many skeletons! The rituals that
led to the obsession with skeletons were not pretty or cute. The little ritual
adopted by America and other cultures is the practice of whitening the
12
bones before being buried in a tomb; the body was left out so that
scavengers would pick the skeleton clean, thus the Ravens, white skulls,
and bones, and the aforementioned, skeletons became a big part of the
celebration of the Druids and Celts (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000). Another
bird associated with death in Celtic Europe (that has made itself to
Americas Halloween) is the owl (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000, pg 179). In
another tradition the practioner would put twenty nine skulls in a neat pile
positioned to view a passage way to the entrance of a tomb (Grimassi,
1997 & 2000). Interesting how skulls are everywhere in current culture;
shirts, hats, cars, Halloween dcor, everyday dcor, incense pots,
necklaces and other jewelry, the list goes on and on. The truth is that you
really cant walk into a store or the mall without seeing skulls and the
worst part is that Christian teens and young adults are getting just as
caught up in skull mania as everyone else!
On the night of Souin before or during the bonfire celebration the Celts
and Druids would honor the earth for giving up her bounty at harvest time
by offering the gods blood sacrifice of cows, horses, and other animals
(Swimmer, 1997). These animals would be thrown onto the bonfires and
the Celts were heavy into soothsaying, so after burning the animals the
Druid Priests would read the entrails of animals to find out who would die,
prosper, etc. And Souin night was the best night of all for predicting the
future because of the thinness of the boundary between the living world
and the spirit world (Swimmer, 1997). In essence the Druid priests did not
just consult their gods, but also the dead spirits, believing that the dead
spirits had answers to give them (Swimmer, 1997). Exactly why would the
Priests believe that the dead would know anything about the future? The
answer lies in a belief that Wiccans and other pagan religions still have to
this day, Summerland.
It is no surprise that pagan/wiccans do not believe in heaven or hell. They
do believe in reincarnation. They believe that the physical body is just a
shell, but your mind and soul keep maturing and growing, in essence with
each life a person should be wiser, smarter, and have a deeper

Even though the Druids through the Celts started the Souin (Halloween)
celebrations Rome and her people are really the ones who shaped Souin
into Halloween of today.

the Christian God incarnate, Jesus the Messiah, is that unlike Him they
were not willing participants but most were prisoners of war and criminals
but in some cases they were vulnerable children and women (innocence),
or others. They did not give themselves freely rather they had their lives
stolen.
The history surrounding the Druid's human sacrifices have been meshed
into their history of Halloween. There are many eye witness accounts from
the Romans; however, it is possible that the Romans were actually the
cause of the mass humans sacrifices that took place in the first Century
A.D.
Does Halloween include human sacrifice today? Yes, human sacrifice does
take place today and not all of human sacrifices happen on Halloween
night either. One of the more recent cases is the case of Amelia Espinoza
who was murdered by her own son. Amelia was forty two years old with
an eighteen year old son, Moises Miraz Espinoza, who was a practicing
Satanist. her body was mutilated and marked in specific ways for human
sacrifice (Jauregui, 2013). This gruesome scene along with others that
have been reported in the U.S., London, and other countries have helped in
the rumors of human sacrifices taking place on Halloween, however
human sacrifices is not happening in mass, neither is it necessarily a
Halloween affair (Anderson, 2014).
Part of the enchantment and lure in Halloween is the mysterious sacrificial
element; while most people object that human sacrifices was ever a part of
Halloween movies and television series will usually have some type of
human hungry sacrificial appearance all through the month of October. If
human sacrifice isn't an actual piece of Halloween rituals our blood thirst
entertainment certainly has made it a part of contemporary Halloween.
However, we do know that human sacrifice was a part of ancient cultures
all over the world, the question is, was human sacrifice a part of
Halloween or rather Samhain?
17
It is obvious that the day of death worship has largely sprang from the
cult of the dead, the Druids, because of this it is logical to examine the
Druids practice of human sacrifice and the associated rituals - were they
mass sacrificing barbarians they have been made out to be? By the witness
accounts of Julius Ceaser it certainly seems that way, but are written
accounts from a empire set on conquering the world a credible source?
As we have discussed when the Celts overpowered the cult of the dead the
Druids became the religious heads of the Celts, now Rome is coming to
defeat the Celts and conquer the whole of Britain.

marrow given to them and blessed by the Druids, in the warrior's minds
they were ingesting power from the gods and spirits. The Romans came
the war ensued and though the Celtic warriors, Druid Priests, and the
whole left of the tribe fought hard and challenged the Romans they did not
prevail. The Romans conquered, exterminated, and then published what
they had seen, heard, and experienced about the Mass human sacrifice the legends flew from there.
Let us consider that with or without human sacrifice Halloween is not
biblical, it is derived from the Holy day of two pagan tribes that did
sacrifice to pagan gods and spirits. Halloween was never sanctioned by
God, the prophets, or Jesus but by Druid priests who worshipped the Sidhe
(fairies, dead spirits). Halloween is against the scriptures as it requires
divination, communication with the dead, and worship to other gods,
deities, and spirits. Sin is inherently part of the Halloween celebration; it is
sin to transgress the instructions of God and the instructions of God
forbids everything connected to the Halloween celebration.

Rome, which made its way to Europe where they knew the spirits as the
Sidhe (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000) In Rome, however, the race of dead spirits
were called the Lasa, which means ancestral spirits which is where
ancestral magic comes from; ancestral magic has to do with calling upon
our dead ancestors for support, guidance, and knowledge (Grimassi 1997
& 2000). This form of magic is still practiced today around the world,
including the United States. On the internet there are even Wiccan forums
dedicated to ancestral magic.
The reason why these two races are believed to be the same is because the
Sidhe (fairies) and the Lasa (ancestral spirits) look alike in appearances
and have many other similarities (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000). But, since
Rome conquered Europe and their two holidays emerged it seems quite
plausible to me that many other beliefs emerged together, for instance both
Rome and the Celts already believed in and consulted dead spirits, so the
two races, Sidhe and Lasa, emerging into one race seems logical to me.
And, the same process continued, thus, for the next fifty years the
celebrations of Pamona Souin really began to take root and shape
(Swimmer, 1997), along with Samhain, but the holidays would experience
another big shift which also helped bring into play many of the current
traditions of Halloween.
In the fourth century Rome converted to Catholicism; in 325 Constantine
sent monks, Priests, and Catholic missionaries out to convert and therefore
save the souls of pagans (Swimmer, 1997). But pagans were not willing to
give up their ancient traditions (Swimmer, 1997), ultimately the Catholic
Church failed to convert the pagans, until the seventh century.
In the year 600 Pope Gregory the first decided that it was too much to ask
the pagans to give up their traditions and practices and then accept
Catholicism (Swimmer, 1997). The Pope had a plan; his plan was to
change the traditions of the pagans little by little, for example, he said, If
you should come across a group of people worshipping a tree, rather than
21
cut the tree down and tell them that they are ignorant and in error, instead
consecrate the tree to Christ and tell them to keep on meeting as they are
accustomed to meeting in the same spot (Swimmer, 1997, part 2). The
change was not as successful as Pope Gregory the first had hoped
(Swimmer, 1997). However, in the eight century Pope Gregory the third
challenged the pagans by making their most important holidays, Souin
Pamona, and Samhain into a day of the Church; November first was
named All Saints Day; a day to honor the Saints that didnt already have a
day of their own, in doing so they would also take another sacred holiday
of the pagans (Swimmer, 1997). The Catholic Church changed the face of
Samhain; All Saints Day, also known as All Hallows Day, the word
Hallow means Saint, because the Eve of All Hallows Day landed on
October thirty first, Samhain, and became known as All Hallows Evening,
which is currently known as Halloween. However even after the Catholic
Church claimed Halloween (Samhain and Pamona Souin) the people of
Rome (all those who did not embrace Catholicism) continued with their
pagan practices of dressing up, putting out offerings for dead souls, and all
other traditions (Swimmer, 1997). The only difference was that they
celebrated under the name All Hallows Day instead of in the name of
Souin, Pamona, and Samhain (Swimmer, 1997). But the Catholic Church
was not done fighting yet.
In the tenth century the Catholic Church declared November second, a day
that had no pagan meaning or celebrations, as All Souls Day; a day to
remember all people who died in the last year (Swimmer, 1997). By doing
this the Catholic Church extended their holiday and celebration and by
theory the longer holiday would outperform the shorter holiday, celebrate
for two days or three? And most people did choose to recognize All Souls
Day, but they still celebrated October thirty first and November first the
22
way they had for hundreds of years. However, contrary to what many
believe Souin was not just a holiday for Celts, Druids, and Romans.
There was another group that celebrated Souin, Wiccans. The word
Wiccan derived from the word wise one, the Catholic Church gave them
the name witches. This group practiced witch craft on Souin and the
Catholic Church could not convince the Wiccans to change their practices
(Swimmer, 1997). In the fourteen hundreds the Catholic Church began
hunting Wiccans and cruelly punished them, these were the very famous
witch trials (Swimmer, 1997). The Witch trials went on for years and they
even claimed the life of the Catholic Saint, Joan of Arc, to be a Witch and
she was burned at the stake for performing Witch Craft. The legend of
Witch Craft grew from this period of history (Swimmer, 1997). Note
Witches and Witch Craft are very real, but the legends of evil women
23
24
because the holiday was too pagan and too Catholic (Swimmer, 1997).
However, Halloween was eventually birthed in America, it started in
Virginia where many Catholics and Anglicans (a member of the Church of
England) migrated (Swimmer, 1997). In Virginia ghost stories took root
along with bobbing for apples, and on this night, October thirty first, the
early settlers played games of divination, mostly to predict romantic
futures (just for fun, mind you) (Swimmer, 1997). But this was not the last
adaptions to be made to Samhain or Souin.
Halloween had its biggest adaptation in America when immigrants from
Ireland came over (Celts and druids or descendants of); they brought their
old traditions to America (Swimmer, 1997). The traditions were adapted to
America, for example in Ireland turnips were carved into jackolanterns,
but in America pumpkins were used because they are easier to carve and
even bigger, so the face can be more expressive on a pumpkin and that
also provides more variety (Swimmer, 1997). By the twentieth century
many people believe that witch craft and worship of the dead had
completely disappeared and by World War One Halloween was considered
a childrens holiday (Swimmer, 1997). This assumption seems to me, to be
completely wrong, because mischief and danger has followed this holiday
in America for years.
In the 1930s Halloween became out of control, when children took
Halloween back out to the streets and did such major pranks that they
actually caused people to die (Swimmer, 1997). Then Anoka Minnesota
started the Halloween parade and dressing children up and sending them
out in the parades was an attempt to stop the vandalism and the tricks on
Halloween, but this didnt work (Swimmer, 1997). But, the rest of the
country followed Anokas example (Swimmer, 1997).
In World War Two Halloween was cancelled, but after the war was over
Samhain roared back with the baby boom and the prosperity growth in
America, under the name Halloween. This time trick or treat was brought
in to the celebrations, the dangerous side of Halloween also came
25
unwrapped, again (Swimmer, 1997). During this time period razor blades
and poison was found in childrens candy, which caused horrific scandal
as police and parents thought that the culprits were the people giving out
candy, but as the investigation unfolded it was found that the children who
died or were hospitalized from poisoned or razor blade candy were victims
of their parents (Swimmer, 1997)! This development made people say,
See it has nothing to do with the holiday. But is that really any good
proof for Halloween? Let me offer some evidence contrary to the above
statement: it is still tradition in many American households to play Ouija
Boards, to have sances, and to practice divination on Halloween night
whether at Halloween parties or just as a family. And even though most
people who do these things just on Halloween consider it just fun in games
doesnt mean that evil cant come through.
There have been many accounts of parents doing some pretty bad stuff
after attending a seance or spell casting party. One particular example is in
Manilla; two parents went to a spiritist meeting, there they were put under
a spell and once home they thought their children were two literal devils.
The parents grabbed their very young children and stuck objects down
their throats, in their noses, and in their eyes and ears. The children
screamed until they died. When police arrived the parents said that they
found two evil spirits in the house and subdued them (Sumrall, 2003).
Many of the parents who put razor blades and poison in their children's
candy also attended some type of Sance, Ouija Board, or divination
game.
Consider the movies, music, and contestant death lure and influence of
Halloween; the influence is death. Is it really a question as to why these
things happen around Halloween when that is the theme of the month from
September through the last day of October? Whether it is fun in games or
not, Halloween is full of death.
Movies for Halloween are full of terror and death. Serial killer movies are
rampant, shows about ghost and spirits haunting people and homes is at an
26
all time high every year for the whole month of October! The decorations
for Halloween eco death over and over again: skeletons, ghosts, grave
stones and yards, and skulls, and the jack lantern itself, which symbolizes
a damned soul (would that be permanent death?). With death being the
theme of Halloween should Christians really take part in it?
Also, it is important to note that death holds power, or Satan uses death to
exert power, you are not sure if you believe that are you. As always the
Bible has answers and proof at the ready; I will ransom them from the
power of the grave; I will redeem them from death (Hosea 13:14a, NKJV,
emphasis mine), the rest of the verse goes on about how God will plague
and destroy death. For God will redeem my soul from the power of the
grave, for He shall receive me (Psalm 49:15, NKJV, emphasis mine). The
Psalmist David said the power of the grave, and that the power is not
godly power considering God will save him from it, so the power of the
grave is obviously of Satan. Is it honestly just coincidence that Halloween
is a celebration of the dead, in all forms? I think not. Furthermore as
Christians we are supposed to pass from death to life; Most assuredly, I
say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has
everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from
death to life (John 5:24, NKJV, emphasis mine). When we are saved
through the blood of Jesus Christ we pass away from death, so why should
we celebrate death? We need to be celebrating life! Paul teaches us that we
are free from death; For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has
made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2, NKJV,
emphasis mine). We are free from death as soon as we accept Christ, yet
every October thirty first thousands, maybe millions of Christians bow
their knee to death and away from Jesus Christ. I say to you that Christians
who bow down to death yearly right along with the pagans and Wiccans
are subjecting themselves to the bondage of death and rejecting the gift of
life from Jesus; Inasmuch then as children have partaken of flesh and
blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He
might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and
release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to

Halloween has really changed from the Samhain and Souin Pamona of
old.
The old traditions are still practiced today by professed pagans in Ireland;
they still worship nature using the same old rituals of their ancestors
(Swimmer, 1997). They do this to purposely keep the Souin and Samhain
traditions alive (Swimmer, 1997). And they have achieved this; The cult
of the Dead produced certain objects of their cult appearing as universal
symbols everywhere. It spread and rooted. The main symbol of the cult is
the skull (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000, pg 178, emphasis mine); isnt that
interesting that people of no religion of diverse religions and of Christian
religions are all displaying the symbol of the cult of the dead and on
several different items, such as their bodies, cars, phones, computers, and
many other things.
But that is not all.
A Druid Priestess of today has said that they are not much different from
the Druids two thousand and three thousand years ago; they still perform
the same rituals and they still fear the unknown (Swimmer, 1997). On
Halloween pagans still summon ancient deities to their Souin celebration
(Swimmer, 1997). Halloween is still a night for invoking the dead and
thanking the earth spirit for life (Swimmer, 1997). Today, during the Souin
rituals a fire is set to represent green fire in the darkness; the fire is set and
flames beneath a gazebo looking shack (Swimmer, 1997). The shack has a
roof and four pillars to hold it up, but no walls. Hanging down close to the
fire from the roof is a five pointed star in a circle, yes, it is the pentagram.
The people who take part in this ritual start it by doing a lot of dancing and
they are all dressed up, but why? This is a religious celebration and
everything has a reason. They are dressed up because the Celts believed
that on Souin night fairies (Sidhe or Lasa) and other mystical creatures
(remember that these people worship gnomes, mermaids and many other
creatures that we have covered in earlier parts of this book) come out from
caves and roamed the earth, this is the belief that started the dressing up
29
process (Swimmer, 1997). So, when the pagans and Wiccans of today
dress up they do it intentionally to honor the dead spirits (Sidhe and Lasa)
and other gods of the elements (gnomes and such). But, when they say all
traditions, surely they do not mean blood sacrifice right? I mean that stuff
is made up by Christians and other groups to scare people, right?
We wondered this exact thing, so I didnt read Christian books about
Halloween, instead I read books written by Wiccans about Wiccan beliefs,
practices, and rituals and they covered Halloween, because they are very
devout and learned Wiccans and this is what one particular Wiccan had to
say about blood sacrifice, human and animal. First remember the Wiccan
creed, harm none, do what ye will, well, this is what Gary Cantrell has
to say about religions that include any Witch Craft performing blood
sacrifice ceremonies and rituals, after he talked about Druidic blood
sacrifice ceremonies; those religions are meaningful and important to
their practioners just as much as our rites and rituals are to us, it would be
hypocritical of us to comment negatively on actions or practices of other
religions simply because we do not understand or agree with those
practices, or because they dont fit into our particular belief system. Any
practice undertaken by a path of religious pursuit must be understood to be
acceptable to those who follow that path (Cantrell, 2002, pg 53, emphasis
mine). Doesnt that negate the harm none? And didnt he just OK blood
sacrifice as long as it is for a religious purpose? Hopefully you are
beginning to understand why it is so important for Christians to quit
diluting their faith and to close the door on pagan practices.
It may seem like fun in games but the pagans and Wiccans who keep this
holiday sacred are not just in Ireland, but thousands are in America too,
and their numbers are growing at an alarmingly rapid rate, and they
practice the old traditions fully. For example, one coven in Connecticut
invokes the horned god every Halloween night (Swimmer, 1997). The
horned god can be traced through every pagan group, he is literally found
in the Celts, Druids, Italians, Romans, Greeks, Britains, and on. The
horned god is known by several names such as Dionysus, Cernunnos,
30
Artemis, the horned one, Bacchus, Myrddin, Suibhe Geilt, Cernowen, and
Hu Gadarn, and many other names (Grimmassi, 1997 & 2000). On an
island in Okeanos (somewhere in the British Isles) a group of women
isolated themselves in order to devote themselves to Bacchus (horned god)
(Grimassi, 1997 & 2000). He is also traced through the years; he is one of
the oldest pagan gods and remains highly revered to this day. The horned
god has evolved over the years and his features vary a little from culture to
culture, but he is the same basic god (Grimassi, 1997 & 2000). I ask you
what this suggests about the true identity of the horned god. Considering
that cultures that have never met, worship the same deity? The tool of the
horned god is a torc (a staff like item) that has two snakes swirled around
it and with this torc he rules and performs, isnt it interesting that Satan
first entered a serpent to tempt Eve? I think so, and I think that the identity
of this horned god is made very clear. There are several drawings of the
horned god by all the cultures that worship him (they did not compare
notes) and he looks surprisingly similar in every depiction. There is
another who has many names, our God. Could God be being mimicked by
someone who wishes to be better than God? This horned god has made his
way around the world and is now heavily worshiped in America and
Halloween is his night to be invoked! These people who worship the
horned god consider Halloween their most important night of the year
(Swimmer, 1997). However there is more about this night that draws out
the Wiccans than their horned god.
The belief that Halloween night is the night the dead souls roam free on
the earth is so strong that many Wiccan and pagan groups invite their
loved ones, through divination or invocation rituals, to come and join them
and their celebration (Swimmer, 1997). And they look forward to it all
year, many women cannot wait to be with their dead husbands, children
want to feel or talk to deceased parents and grandparents, parents cant
wait for their deceased children, its a wretched and cruel thing Satan has
done to deceive these people. And make no mistake these people strongly
believe that the spirits are their dead loved ones and without the
knowledge of God all of us would be deceived; Anglican evangelist,
31
Trevor Dearing, says these are evil spirits who are familiar with a dead
persons appearance, habits, and life. They imitate the deceased in order to
lead mourners astray, into occultism. Such experience is both real and
supernatural. It is also false. It deceived my (Trevor Dearings) friend Paul
Hainault; who thought that a medium was in touch with his dead wife and
he became very interested in the occult. Thousands have been tricked by
this most cruel of the devils deceits. Mediums, in their sances are
possessed by those familiar spirits. Familiar spirits have been known to
visit bereaved people even without invitation (Sumrall, 2003, pg 167).
Demons (familiar spirits) pretend to be dead loved ones for the sake of
practioners, but also as a way to steal souls from God; many Christians
have believed that they get visited by deceased loved ones and many times
begin talking and praying to that loved one over God. It is only a matter of
time before that influence grows over them and turns them away from
Christ, unless that person repents and turns from their ways, it is forbidden
to communicate with the dead and this is why.
Contemporary (existing, living) Wiccans and pagans have kept all the age
old traditions; prayer to the earth and gods, fire light, sacred symbols such
as the apple (remember Pamona) and the skull, and all rituals. The rituals
include dancing, chanting, communicating with the dead, and invoking
gods, spirits, and deities.
As I have said, many people who celebrate Halloween do it having
nothing to do with religious purposes and are not Wiccan or pagan and
many are Christians. They are just in it for the fun and candy, but just
because the person isnt connecting the dots does that mean the dots arent
connected? I find it interesting that the Bible tells us that Satan wants to
be exalted above God and wants worship and now Halloween is the
biggest holiday favored by many people and is second only to Christmas
(for a limited time). More than half of America celebrates Halloween in
one form or another with decorations and almost all children trick or treat
and almost all children and adults dress up. Today Halloween is an adults
holiday as much as a childrens. Funny how it morphed; Samhain and

Here is a good outline of what Halloween is in its truest form, from the
Bible. Halloween is a time to worship earth, deities, elemental gods, and
in particular the famous horned god. And God spoke all these words,
saying: I am the Lord your God . You shall have no other gods before
33
Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of
anything that is in heaven above, or the earth beneath (Exodus 20:12a, 3-4a&b, NKJV, emphases mine).
Halloween is a time for communicating with dead loved ones. Let no one
be found among you who consults the dead
Halloween is a time to play games that foretell the future (the priests
started this tradition by using divination or omen reading to find out the
coming years information, usually by or after blood sacrifice), Let no one
be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets
omens
Sances are very popular during the month of October and on Halloween.
Let no one be found among you who are a medium or spiritist
Halloween still is and will always be a day of Witch craft and sorcery.
Let no one be found among you who engage in Witch Craft, practices
sorcery"
It is considered fun in games to do spell casting games on Halloween. Let
no one be found among you who cast spells
Blood sacrifice still exists on Halloween, animal and human (usually
children). Let no one be found among you who sacrificing his son or
daughter in the fire
Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord (Deuteronomy
18:10 12, emphasis mine).
It is expected of Wiccans to celebrate this day because it is sacred to them,
they do worship their gods on this day by their gods command. It is
tolerable that non-Christian and non-religious people celebrate Halloween,
34
for they know not what they do. But it is inexcusable and intolerable that
Christians partake in this day in any way shape or form! And God holds
Christians to the gospel, a true Christian obeys the gospel, and a person
cannot celebrate Halloween and obey the gospel at the same time; In
flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on
those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. These shall
be punished with everlasting destruction (also translated death) from the
presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power (2 Thessalonians
1:8-9, NKJV, emphases mine).
However it is never too late during life to change and for those of us who
repent (turn from sin), in this case turn from Halloween there is reward;
When He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be
admired among those who believe, because our testimony among you was
believed (2 Thessalonians 1:10, NKJV). It is never too late to turn from
our sin; it is never too late to look upon Jesus as long as we live. If we
believe in Jesus, truly believe we will inherit everlasting life, now that is
worth celebrating, Life!

Molech (see 23:10). They would dedicate animals to the sun (see 23:11),
there were also chariots built in honor of the sun. Josiah also put away
people who consulted mediums and spiritsts, he also destroyed their
household gods and idols (see 23:24).
These pagans listed in first Kings Chapter twenty three verses five through
twenty- four burned incense, and prayed and worshiped gods, the sun,
moon, constellations. They created images out of wood, they dedicated
animals and chariots to the sun, and they built shrines, they performed
rituals, and consulted mediums and spiritsts, which meant they consulted
with the dead as well, they also, sacrificed children to their gods. Now I
ask, do the pagans of the Bible sound any different in how they
worshipped and their practices, then the pagans and wiccans today? Not
really, and if these actions provoked God to anger then they still do today.
In Leviticus Chapter twenty verses two through five God describes what
shall be done to anyone serving Molech or to anyone else who blinds their
eye to another serving Molech, and it is disturbing, but the question I
asked while reading these verses is why is God putting such strong
emphasis on the god Molech? After doing some research the answer
became clear.
The god Molech had many names, one which we already established as
Moloch, but he was also known as Apis Bull, Golden calf, Chemosh, and
he is believed to also be Baal (one-evil.org, 2010). Because of eye witness
accounts that were recorded even before the time of Christ we know for
sure that Leviticus Chapter eighteen verse twenty-one correctly explained
the human sacrifice as being sons and daughters passing through the
fire the idol of Molech was large and hollow, it had a head of a bull
with the belly of a man. It has arms with hands that come out of its sides.
The fire would be lit in the base of the idol and flame all the way through
the body of the idol (one-evil.org, 2010).
38

identity of the rest. If this theory is correct it certainly would explain why
God specifically condemned the worship of Molech in Leviticus Chapter
eighteen verse twenty-one and again with much more vigor in Leviticus
Chapter twenty verse twenty-five.
Some people may think that this section of my book loses credibility
because of my resource, one-evil.org, however the author of this website is
not a Christian, but a pagan; a pagan who knows the true identity of many
gods and is showing it to the world, but surely the worship of Molech has
died out, by now? Actually the sad truth is that the worship of Molech is
still strong and just as he worked his way into Gods people in the Old
Testament he kept his place right up to today and in America.
Here are some of the ways Molech has deceived people through the years.
In 1812 a male club was started by a journalist in Monte Rio in California
called the Bohemian Grove (Bohan, 1999). In 1879 an annual gathering
was started, the gathering was/is started with a ritual called the cremation
of care where the mascot is burned to an owl god who is also known as
Moloch, which as we discussed is one alias for Molech (Bohan, 1999).
This same annual gathering is still held and the ritual is now called the
spirit of Bohemia (Bohan, 1999), only now the club has become a club of
elites; in 1967 Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon went to the annual event
at Bohemian Grove (Bohan, 1999) and some of the elite men who came to
the annual event in 1999 are as follows: George Bush Senior, at that time
Texas governor George W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, retired general Colin
Powell, former house speaker Newt Gingrich, a chemical chairman named
Frank Popoff, and an actor named Danny Glover (Bohan, 1999).
This annual gathering is celebrated with plays, gourmet food, and plenty
of wine (Bohan, 1999); however there is something sinister about these
plays (Bohan, 1999). In July 1993 there were reports about human
sacrifice at Bohemian Grove, but investigators were never able to bring
any charges, they did, however, find a witness; a man with the last name,
