WHERE ARE THE IDEAS FROM ? what is the story about?

THERE ARE MANY SOURCES THAT THe story are inspired from which includes Home country, Kids, culture and imagination
The original idea was from the tradional pots that are for sell on up on the mountain in the noerthern of thailand.
THis pot can create a unique sound by spinning it with a wooden stick, The idea was palying around this pot, but the
final idea is to make the pot create spirits. The spirits that will come out to protect everychild until the certain age.
THe village was build up around this believes, the believe of a good karma that will protect your child after listen to
the sound of the pot, but not the spirits. Even though the imaginary friend exist, the adults cant see it and they will
be disappear from the kids after they have grown up to the certain age andthe kids forget them afterward. Pai who is
an only orpan in the village also has his own imaginary friend like others but the different is that his imaginary
friend wont leave him. The fact that imaginary friend couldnt leave him makes himdifferent because only pai can see
and communiate with him while others cant. The story will be about pai and Blackbrees (his imaginary friend)
struggling to live on andfit in the society.

Description
STYLE/Inspirations

MY NEIghbour yamadas

The style that I aim for is something simple and make a good impact. Main focus of this
project is at the story telling, so the style can be basically anything. THe one that seem
to work best is the simply colored background and less detail. The research has been
focued on those style and princess kaguya and My neighbour yamadas who has the same
art director has popped up in my head and inspied me throughout the whole project.

AUDIENCE / OUTCOMES

AUDIENCE
The main audience will be the kids and teenagers who have interests in animations and movies which include people around age 12-25.
In the film they will be content about what is it like to grown up different, or how being different effects how the kids grow up,
which might be good way for parents to understand their kids more (possibly in psychological sense). So the film might be aim for adult
or older people too. The idea of being different could possibly aim for people with different races as well.

the specific religious.

OUTCOMES
The purpose of this short film is to make people start to see things in a different perspective, to make them have a wider understanding; and an open mind of why people are who they are. It's not to make people feel sympathy towards someone, but understand everyone
is different. Its also not just to teach the viewer but to teach everyone who thinks they are different and dont feel comfortable with
themselves. Teaching people to accept who they are and be 'grateful' with what they have.

RATIONALE

RATIONALE
Having a broad content and focusing on the big issue of being different will be shown in interesting ways. > It will be done in 2D
animation and not in live-action form, including a non-human animated character sets up in the real world that we live in, it will
possibly attract to different type of people and children. There are many children and people in the world that rely on other peoples
opinion. This film might help them realize and create their own value instead of relying so much on social behavior.

CHARACTER DESIGN
SKETCHES

^ First original designs of two min characters.

At this point the focus of the design is the characteristic,
try to get the character to come out right due to the story.
> Blackbrees first design. The design comes out
as I wanted it to be but due to the story line and characteristic of the
character, this design doesnt
suit the role.

CHARACTER DESIGN
SKETCHES development

^ This stage of development is focusing on different impres-

sions of the characters. By drawing many expressions give me

an idea of how the character would react to different situations.

CHARACTER DESIGN
SKETCHES development

^ At this stage I developed on another main character. The aim of this development
just to make him suit to his character which is friendly, kind, cheeky and heart
warming. This design doesnt seem to suit all of those but the change of shape
with the bunny ears does help make him looks a bit kid appeal.

CHARACTER DESIGN
FINAL DESIGN

^ this is the final design of Pai (main character). At one point before it
comes to the conclusion of his look, he has a ripped top to show that he
has a poor life. That ends up not use because its not effective and might
take longer time to animate, due to the time consuming.

CHARACTER DESIGN
FINAL DESIGN

> Final design of Blackbrees. The design of the face mask

has been developed from the previous design. It changed
to make it looks more like Pai e.g. eyes and expression.

CHARACTER DESIGN

CHARACTERS RELATIONSHIP / CONCEPTS

OTHER THAN PAI AND BLACKBREES, THERE ARE ALSO OTHERS
CHAACTERS THAT WILL DRIVE THE STORY AND MAKE IT MORE
EXCITING. THESE ARE THE OTHERS CHARACTER THAT NOT NECESSARY NEED NAMES.

THE DESIGN OF THESE CHARACTERS ARE BASED OF PAI, THE

OUTFIT AND OVERALL DESIGN AND EXPRESSIONS. THE STORY IS
HELD IN 1995 IN THAILAND, SO THE DESIGN OF CLOTHES ARE
RELATE THE TIME TIME PERIOD.

ART
BACKGROUND CONCEPT
After I have done research about the style, I have experiments so many ways to color my background. Using different brushes and color pallete and line work. The one
that seem to work best is the one with less line work
background. It captures more of the environments feel.
