Classroom Set-up
Install Necessary Software
You must confirm each workstation has the necessary software installed, with active licenses.

For onsite classes using customer software, you must verify correct licenses, maintenance releases,
lab files, optional modules like Simulate, etc.

PTC and its authorized training partners (ATPs) are provided comprehensive licenses of Mathcad
Prime that include all the optional modules that may be needed during a training class.

Install Lab and Demo Files

Lab and Demo files are provided to instructors who are certifying or are certified in the course of interest. The
file sets are distributed in .zip format.
We recommend that the file sets be extracted to C:\ drive. The resulting folder path will be C:\PTCU\Mathcad
Prime3\.

Screen resolution It is recommended that you set screen resolution to 1280x1024 or higher if
available.

Lab Files Extract the lab files with the full folder path.
For example: C:\PTCU\Mathcad Prime3\

Desktop Exercises - Extract the folder containing the HTML files to the desktop. Create a desktop
shortcut to the main landing page (index.htm) and rename the shortcut. For example: Mathcad Prime
3.0 Essentials Exercises.

Instructor Delivery Notes for each Course Module

Critical Note:
The following module-by-module instructor delivery notes may not be complete. Module-focused instructor
notes should contain real classroom delivery knowledge and experience, and should be documented
primarily by instructors who delivery this course. Curriculum Developers can add key notes, screen shots,
etc. pertaining to the differences from the last course release and the present release new features and
functions, added modules, removed topics, etc.
Instructors are highly encouraged to add class delivery notes to this TTT document, AFTER delivering this
course.

Instructional Media White board, Flip chart, Props, Simulation Videos,

Software, PTC.com Training, PTC LMS systems, your own Handouts, etc.

2 Exercises first exercise may be difficult for many students. A demo

and mentoring during lab may be necessary; second exercise is easy to
complete without assistance.

Key Delivery Notes

Use a demo to show new functionality versus

slide lecture only. Ask Qs during demo to
confirm learning. Slide lecture is very short
to accommodate demo and Q&A.
Exercise 1, steps 2-4 need clarified.
Students may get lost without a quick demo,
or student mentoring during lab, or both.
