INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
1. The Ap plicat ion, alo ng with the Examination fee s by way of De mand Draft from a nati onalized or

be fore the due d at e. Applicat ions m ay als o be downloade d from the Univ e rsity we bsite.
2. Late Ap plications will be acc ep ted in the Controlle r Office , at the C andidate's own risk with a late
fee of Rs .5 00/- upto 1 5 days from the due date. In e xce ptional case s, c and idates will be pe rmitted to
regis ter for the e xaminations , e ve n after 15 d ays from the due date (but be fore two d ays of the examination),
on payme nt of a late fee of Rs .7 50/-, but they can take up the exami natio ns o nly at Annam alainagar.
The actual date of re ce ipt of the app lic ation in the office , will be the c riterion for arriv ing at the rate of late
fee . The Answe r P ap e rs of candid ates who appe ar for the e xaminations without re gistering for the s ame will
not be value d. The Unive rsity will not b e re sponsib le for the loss of Applications in transit.
3. C and idates should re gister for the e xaminat ion only after re mitting t he Tuition fee s due to the
Dire ctorat e of Distance Ed uc ation, failing which a pe nalty of Rs. 500/- will b e le vie d by t he DDE. The
De mand Draft for Tuition fe e arre ars should be d rawn in fav our of the Dire ctor, Dire ctorat e of Dis tanc e
Educ at ion, Annamalai Unive rsity and the Demand Draft fo r ex am ination fees shoul d be dr awn in favo ur
of the C ontroller of Examinations, Annam alai University , Annamalainagar and s ent to t he res pe ctiv e
office rs . Cand ida tes should write t he ir Name and Enrolme nt N o. on the back sid e of the Draft, and are

4. At the firs t appe arance , cand id ates s hould re gister for all the Pape rs of the re s pec tiv e Ye ar /
Seme ster, and p ay the fe es for all the Pape rs , whet he r the y intend to ap pear for all the Pape rs or no t. The
fee once p aid, will not be re funde d or c arrie d ove r to a subs equent e xamination.
5. Thos e who have not attende d the c omp ulsory PC P should not app ear for t he e xamination.
6. Cand idates must enter the ir Enrolme nt No., Full Name and Add re ss c orre ctly in the Application form.
7. An e xaminat ion ce nt re once se le cted, should not b e change d unde r any c ircums tance s. If a
candidate appe ars in an examination ce ntre to which he is not allotte d, his answer pape rs will not be value d. The
date and ve nue of Prac tical and Viva voce Examinations will be announce d se parately.
8. Candidates will be provided only one blank answer book-le t containing 38 pages. No additional shee ts will be
prov ide d. Candidates should write their correct Register Number in their Answer script. If it is discovered later that
a wrong or incomplete number has be en writte n, a penalty of Rs. 750/- pe r Paper will be imposed.

Mob ile numbe r re gistere d with the DDE.
10 . After public ation of the res ults (in the Unive rs ity We bsite), the Stateme nt of Mark s and Provisional
/ Pass C ertificate (if e ligible ) will b e se nt to the candid ates through Regis tere d Post.
11 . There is no p rovisio n for revaluation of ans wer p apers. Howe ve r, re -totaling of the marks is
pe rmitted, if an applic at ion along with a fee of Rs. 5 00/- p e r pape r is re ce iv e d within 15 d ays e ithe r from the
date of publication of res ults on the Univ ersity We bsite or from the date of de sp at ch of mark s he e t,
whiche v er is e arlie r.
12 . Stude nt s will be pe rmit ted to take up Improve me nt Examinations after s uc ce ss fully complet ing
the course , only onc e if the re is no c hange in the s yllabus and re gulat ions . Howev er, re vise d provis ional
ce rtificate or d egre e certificate will no t be is sued. The y should ob tain prior written pe rmiss ion from the
Controlle r of Examinat ions b e fore submitting the Ap plicat ion for Improve ment Examinat ion.
13 . T he Unive rsity shall have the right t o c anc el or modify any of the ab ov e ins truc tions and such
de cision will be binding on all the candid ates appe aring for the Unive rs ity Examinations. If e xaminations
cannot be cond uc ted at a ce ntre due to unfore se en c ircumst ance s , candidates who had opte d for that c entre
will be aske d to writ e the e xaminations at t he ne are st c entre or the examinations may b e res ched uled at the
disc re tion of the Unive rs ity. For any c larification regard ing e xaminat ions, c ertificates, e tc., c andidates are
