Introduction
Where we have several horizontal and Inclined planes
sharing a member, (eg M1) the gravity area loading panel
selection can get confused.
In the diagrams opposite the panel defined by
M1, M2, M3 & M4 will get confused by the
members in the sloping panel M1, M8, M9 &
M22.
In defining the Eaves floor spanning front to
back you will obtain a weird area loading
diagram like this below in fig 2.

Solution
The solution is in done in three stages.

1) Define the Roof members that


interfere with but dont lie in the eaves
plane as Bracing members. (eg M8,
M9, M10 & M11). Members M1 and
M7 must not be bracing members.
Member M22 does not matter.

2) Define your gravity area loading by


selecting your Eaves level members M1,
M3 & M7 etc. (see fig 3)
3) Using Wind panels define your roof
panel M1, M8, M9 & M22 etc. In the
loading part input your Dead and live
loads. (see fig 4)
