I am requesting funding for Port Everglades Dredging Reimbursement in the amount of

$2000000 in fiscal year 2009.
The entity to receive funding for this project is Broward County, Florida, located at 115
South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.
The funding would be used for general investigation ofthe entire channel, including
widening and deepening the Outer and Inner Entrance Channels; the Main Turning Basin;
and the Southport Access Channel (including the Turning Notch), a possible new turning
facility at the intersection of the Dania Cutoff Canal and the Intracoastal Waterway, as
well as improvements on the Dania Cutoff Canal.

fiscal year 2009.
The entity to receive funding for this project is South Florida Water Management
District, located at 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.
The funding would be used to complete design of the land side features, continue
construction of the cut-off wall in Reaches lA and ID, award multiple task orders for
Earthwork and Landside Rehabilitation and initiate construction on Reach lA for
Landside Rehabilitation.

I am requesting funding for San Rafael Canal Dredging Project in fiscal year 2009. The entity to
receive funding for this project is Army Corps of Engineers, located at 1455 Market Street, San
Francisco, CA, 94103. The funding would be used for: the San Rafael Creek Federal Channel
(a€ceSan Rafael Canala€·) is an 8,450 waterway comprised of a 60-foot wide Inner Channel and
a 1OO-foot wide Outer Channel, vital to numerous marine-related businesses and the San Rafael
Police Department's search and rescue operations. Since 1930, the Army Corps of Engineers has
