Celebrating His Love

- Glecy Mae Eusala

On the 13th and 21st of February 2016, Project Elisha hosted two love-themed events - the
Love Day Celebration for the 3-11 year olds and the Love Night Celebration for the
teenagers, respectively. The events were held at the Bacolod City Alliance Church
Sanctuary and were attended by over 250 students of Project Elisha, with the main
purpose of promoting the love of Christ and celebrating the essence of friendship. The
whole venue streamed with attractive decorations and the recipients and Project staf
graced the event with their glamorous dresses, gowns, coats and ties.
During the Love Night Celebration, BCACs very own Ptr. Charles Rejas and wife Audrey
alongside Mr. Giovanni Ladines and partner Aiken Alagban shared and talked about their
personal experiences in relationships and love. The event was set up like a talk show and
the guests were asked several questions about how their relationship started and how
they were able to maintain and grow the love through the years. The audience also had a
chance to to address a few questions to the guests, which the latter gamely answered
much to the delight of the audience.
At the latter part of the program, nominees for Certified Best friends who were
personally nominated by Elisha students themselves, were called out. After several rounds
of games, the duo of Ma, Mae Eyak & Reizelle Joice Roa was proclaimed the winner.
The young people were also serenaded with love songs by representatives of each class.
At the end of the program, the students were told to sit beside their best friends while
singing the song Thank You My Friend.
On the other hand, the younger children also had their fair share of fun and games during
the Love Day Celebration. Kesha Orot and Jell Mirasol were awarded as the Princesses of
the Day and Louie John Rio and Jerry Parohinog Jr. as the Princes of the Day. The
children went home with giveaways, balloons and very big smiles.
Indeed, it was a delightful event. The children of Project Elisha did not just have fun, they
also felt Gods love through other people. To God be the glory!
